-it will use unreal engine 3,which is the most power full graphic engine in our days.
-it will have a revamped and totally new(and fresh) gameplay,just like mkda did back in 2002.
-midway begun to work on mk8 little time before mk armageddon was in shelves.
-we don't know if mk8 will be a totally different (re)start of the saga or some characters will survive.it was hinted that Sonya could come back.fan speculations pointed sub zero and scorpion as returing characters too,but it's not 100%,or at least not 100% official.
-we'll get some news and info at start of 2008,fan speculations point at game informer february issue.

Okay... Well I wish too that scorpion and Sub-zero would come back, but it will darker and more serious, I have no idea what they are talkin about, because mortal kombat has been very crazy and weird (and best) game series all the time.

I know its for Ps3 and Xbox 360, will it be for Wii aswell? If scorp and subby do come back, which they probably will, i hope they have new awsome costumes and moves/ Stories.

yes ti will come out also for wii,but won't support UE3 graphic engine.
we don't know if the wii edition of the game will be selled in the same day of ps3/360 versions.

Ed Boon also said in an interveiw awhile ago that he might do the gameplay like it was in deadly alliance.
