Anyways going back to Tgrants first post, about the bit about Reptile.
Where you say what if Reptile wasnt there, would Onaga have found a host?
I think the kamidogus power would of somehow found a suitable host for Onagas essence no matter what. If the power of them is as strong as Deception makes them out to be, then surely they could find someone.
I believe in the power of the kamidogu!
And of course the fact that Reptile was the host is probably because the writers realised that Reptile has reptilian/dragon features already. (duh)
The fact that Reptile was there is just another time he's been in the wrong place at the wrong time. Which is sort of Reptiles trademark. hehe
Gotta love Reptile for that.

Perhaps he would have gotten a host. Maybe Cyrax could have substitued and then Nitara possibly wouldn't have gone back to her own realm.
Or perhaps Onaga wouldn't have exposed Damashi and used Shujinko to go to the cave and take Shujinko's body.
He could easily go and manipulate ssomeone else if he wanted to.
Reptile definitely was in the wrong place at the wrong time. It sucks for him really, but at least he's back in MKA!

Onaga could have chosen Nitara or Cyrax, but he didn't. Obviously he chose Reptile for a reason.

Maybe Reptile's race are actually dragons, Zaterrian (or whatever it's called, I've forgotten, I'll probably pick it up again soon) is just their own way of saying it?
OK, assuming that The Dragon King didn't possess Reptile, I assume Onaga would have tried to find another host. This would explain why Shao Kahn wiped out Reptile's race. There would be no more dragons and hence Onaga can never ben reborn. It doesn't explain why he kept Reptile, though. Perhaps he wanted to use him as bait to lure Damashi out? Perhaps he figured that it would all be OK if he made Reptile into a humanoid warrior, but then after losing his strength in MK3, Shao Kahn lost control over Reptile's form and the dragon began to come out. Not wanting to lose one of his only remaining subjects, Kahn keeps Reptile close?
So, Onaga still wants the Kamidogu, and he uses Shujinko for that. Onaga is never reborn because there is no dragon to fulfill the prophecy (let's assume Cyrax killed him with his buzzsaw earlier). Blaze is still Blaze, and would probably be present in the new version of Deception. Nitara and Cyrax's story arcs would be complete.
Quan Chi and Shang Tsung kill Kung Lao, Kitana, Johnny Cage, Sonya Blade & Jax (for some reason I see it happening in that order) and then they defeat Raiden, but turn on each other. Quan Chi wins (I like Shang Tsung better, but we all saw the Deception intro) and Quan Chi is now in command of the "unstoppable" army, only to find out the hard way that it was only because of Onaga's resurrecting abilities that the army could not be defeated.
Raiden somehow escapes death, and he enlists Fujin, Sub-Zero, Sindel, Jade, Kenshi & Ermac to fight with him. Hotaru would probably still get involved, and would likely side with Quan Chi (Hotaru would likely believe Quan Chi to be someone destined to bring order to the realms). This brings Darrius and Dairou over to the side of "Good". Havik would be his own normal self and probably get involved (he wasn't influenced by Onaga was he?). Havik would likely save Kabal. I'm going to say Mavado would still be around, as an ally to Quan Chi. This gives Earthrealm the added assistence of Kabal, Kira, Kobra & Havik. Tanya and Baraka were apparently going work for the Deadly Alliance, so unless either was banging Shang Tsung on the side, they would still be in the game as "Evil" warriors. Mileena would probably do what she did in this game.
The big difference would probably still be Shujinko, influenced by Damashi, who in turn was being influenced by The One Being (if I remember correctly). Shujinko would probably unify the Kamidogu, ending the MK universe. Or, if Boon and co. wrote it differently, create a unified realm for final battle against a revived being toppled by the Elder Gods once before. Sort of like God vs. Elder Gods. In this case, Shujinko would probably be all-out evil, and not just a manipulated Earthrealm warrior. The Reptile to One Being's Shao Kahn, if you will.
With the realms becomming one, there wouldn't really be death, and we'd get MK: Armageddon still, but with the goal being to somehow overthrow the One Being and restore death, and in a way, mortality to Mortal Kombat. Onaga would probably be a pawn for the One Being in that game (maybe even being the only thing keeping the One Being in power. Shattering the Kamidogu would destroy Onaga's ties with the One Being, end the realms, and allow the Dragon King to once again disappear into the abyss.
Cue new MK era.

Wait, I don't get that. MKDeception already came out, and Sector wasn't in it. Neither were Fujin and Mavado.

I think that the 5 heroes would have been unconscious while Onaga was starting to awake. Quan Chi manages to defeat Shang Tsung but the heroes' beloved leader Raiden would have been defeated by the two.
Quan Chi would want to gain Onaga's power. Baraka would have been killed by Kitana for seriously injuring her comrade Kung Lao while Mileena is getting help from Edenia's enemy, Tanya to escape from prison but Jade must stop them before they decide to kill Kitana and Sindel while Rain is locked up in the dungeons of Outworld with Smoke. Rain is an enemy of Edenia anyways. Reptile would be persuing Nitara who knows of Onaga and kills her for not telling the truth. After Kung Lao, Sonya, Jax, and Johnny Cage rush into the palace they see their friend's soul. Kitana returned to Edenia and finds Jade gone. After Tanya and Mileena's alliance, they find some unknown realm which Tanya wants to rule, Mileena would try to kill her but she gets killed by Jade shortly. This realm is actually Outworld, the apparently dead Shao Kahn's realm. Shao Khan meets up with Quan Chi and becomes his ally to destroy the Dragon King. Fujin becomes the new leader of the heroes. Kitana forsees Outworld's rise to power by the traitor of her land, Tanya who found Rain, her lover,(this would explain his MKA outfit) who also seeks to destroy Edenia Tanya shortly finds out she is hearing voices from Onaga apparently. Sindel decides to stop the new Outworld while Jade seeks to overthrow Tanya. Kitana reports to her Earthrealm friends about the news. Nightwolf returns to help Fujin and the others while the two learn of Liu Kang's death. Sub-Zero decides to help as well as he once fought against Shao Khan but Frost wants to "help." Frost knows about the secret of Cyromancers and tells Sub-Zero to go to the Frozen Katakombs. Frost tries to obtain the ancient armor of the Cyromancers for the Dragon Medallion but fails and gets frozen. Sub-Zero has even stronger ice powers. Meanwhile, in the Soulnado, Scorpion meets Ermac and forms an Alliance with him for he is told by Ermac that he is the Champion of the Elder Gods and must find Shujinko along with Liu Kang. Scorpion, like the madman he is attacks Shujinko who dies. Scorpion sees Quan Chi in the Nexus looking for Onaga. The two fight each other. Noob Saibot finds Shao Khan and fights him thus there is no Noob-Smoke. Speaking of Smoke, Jade rescued him as she was tracking down Tanya. Now Smoke works with her making them Jade Smoke who track Tanya down. Quan Chi journeys into Outworld and meets Tanya again who agrees to work with him and destroy Onaga who communicates through those defeated during the time of the Deadly Alliance while using his army of mind controlled kombatants. Something seems wrong about Raiden who now grew impatient with Mortals. Quan Chi manages to destroy Onaga who now possesses Quan Chi while Reptile becomes another slave. Quan Chi seeks the ultimate power of the One Being along with Tanya who has something up her sleeves.

I always thought scorpion was running next to Shinnok nobrainer but i could be wrong i didn't get too good of a look but i did notice the lil stuff like nightwolf was running faster then all the other dudes.
as for ur ideas TG there really complexed complexedy or complexness or whatever its called is confussing :( but at the same time makes perfect sence if onaga had not been there then none of that would have happened i kinda had an idea that the deadly alliance would not have happened if quan chi died on MK4 but then wouldnt shinnok join shang tsung? maybe not cuz he would have ultimate power if he had the real amulet but i dunno my ideas werent full proof not really thought out and etc. my plans need some help but u know i thought deception was perfect cuz konquest explained everything except how reptile became onaga.

great theory tgrant very incitful. but this got me into think about all the possiable hosts that onaga could of used besides reptile, i think it is safe to say that Decpetion was inevitable, in that if it wasn't onaga some other threat would of came about After DA. we all cover how cyrax, nitara and jinko could of been the host for onaga. but i think we forgot one more person that was present in the shrine. That is BLAZE, since blaze was bond there as the guard of the egg onagag could of easily used he if worst came to worse. if that happened, then we could skip MK:D and go striaght to MK:A were blaze has become the boss.
as far as other characters go some would os still be introduced just not as part of the main story. like Ashara, her story was really not that tightly tied to the main story as she was just searching for demons to slay so she could accend out of hell.
there would still be a havik, kabal kira and kobra wouldn't there. since havik could of still revived kabal since it really didn't tie into the onaga story. once kabal was brought back kira and kobra would still be in.
the only what if characters would be cyrax, reptile, jinko, quan chi, shang, onaga, nitara, Liu kang(depends on who brought his carcass back from the dead to start killing ppl), the 5 earth realm warriors. Also do you think that MK: deception unchained will alter any older facts and storyline, since now that some of the Earthrealm warriors are play able such as jax, kitana. plus blaze is now playable in MK:DU
