Dont be so sure. Thats what people said about MK:DA and that turned out to be dissapointing. They have not changed the gameplay at all when it comes to fighting mechanics. Its too early to tell.

I thought MK:DA was pretty good. I'm really excited about MK:D also, it looks great so far. Boon is trying real hard to please fans of different MK games, he's doing great.

Before the whining and bitching starts on this thread (you know who you are)I would just like to say that so far Deception looks amazing. I am very excited about this game coming out. Boon and his team obviously listened to us (well most of us) fans on these forums, and are going to deliver us a game we have wanted for years this fall. Even though the game at E3 was still in the beta version I thought it looked better than MKDA. MKDA in itself was a great game, but it is nice to see that the MK team used DA as a building block for Deception. I am anxiously waiting to try my hands at the Chess Kombat, and I know my wife and I will spend countless hours playing the Puzzle Kombat together. This to me is the MK we have been wanting for so long...and it's almost here. I just wish that all the whiners and moaners (you still know who you are) would take the time and look at this game for what it is: a game that will bring us MK fans countless hours of game play looking for secrets...building our very own character in Konquest mode...using our brains playing Chess Kombat...and killing off our opponent using the second fatality and the background fatalities that we as MK fans so desperatly wanted to see in MKDA. Well guess what folks...we are going to get all that AND MORE in Deception. I am having a hard time being patient for this game to come out, and the only thing that will get me through the next 5 long months is knowing that all you other MK fans out there are going through the same torment of waiting that I am. This game is gonna rock...you'll see.

Well Actually I love MKDA. Still playing it today. Sure there were thinks i didnt like it was far from saying it was disappointing.

right on MK:D is going to be badass i loved MK:DA still do and MK:D has improved so much upon MK:DA even at these early stages of the game

I think it's gonna be good and fun.

Much better than MKDA and I can't wait to play it.

But.......I can't call it a great fighter until it gets to the level of intricacy I have in mind.

Indeed it will. I thought that MK:DA was a excellent game besides the worthless hidden fighters and some of the items in the krypt. From what we all have seen so far w/MK:D is what all of us MK fans want. I really think Boon is listening to the fans this time around and making a game for us.....THE FANS. How can you not like this? With everything Boon is given us, this will be the MK game for the fans plus we get Midway Treasures II the same month so we can play arcade classics MK, MKII and MK3.

well if MKDA was sooooo dissapointing then why did it sell 2million and more copies? But why does everyone complain? I think with what I've seen and (according to some people) 80% that we didn't see (although I doubt that it took them 2years to get 20% and 5months to do 80%) this game is going to be the best game in the world!!!

the same reason tomb raider has sold over 20 million copies throughout it's lifespan. hype and content. not because it's good in the genre. tomb raider has boobs, mk has blood. that's why they sell.

I never played MK because of blood, but because of great characters ( the best in fighting games ), dark story and because it was so fun. I won't be dissapointed with new MK. Ed Boon will deliver another great MK game!!!

My first game i played was MK2 for Game Gear...
and i only Kintaro once with Jax and he wiped the floor with everyone else...=)
and after a few years i got a SNES after a PSX
with MK4 and MKT in my library....
the games i got for SNes were
Killer Instinct
Double Gragon IV
Mortal Kombat 2
Stone Protectors
and FF 3 which i hated...
so MK is in my blood and a permanant skar in my soul that i display proudly to biziches who think they're good at Street Fighter....pfft.

Ok.. first of all MKD is already better than DA with 20% done from what I've seen... I am not going to dispute that this game is going to be awesome as a game on a whole... I will buy it because its going to have my favorite characters, a storyline that is going to come to a head possibly or just begin a dire situation, new features and games, and wicked stages and fatalities...
Also there is plenty of room for improvement, so there isn't anything wrong with some constructive critisism... the only gripe I'll have is the fighting system and I think thats only thing anyone has been complaining about and some people like to whine and bitch about it rather than pointing out aspects that needs to be fixed...
Now combo breakers will add a good dimension into MKD... I think a better countering system could work wonders also... I just want this game to be balanced and that online play will be a serious community when this game comes out... Hopefully real hit detection will be put into... I just heard that the characters are being pushed around the stage... I don't know because I haven't seen the videos...
I can't wait for MKD to come out, because with the additions to it that is has already it will be interesting and fun and well worth the money paid for it... especially if I can get some money to get Xbox Live... but if the fighting system is tweaked to where combos are a little less constricting and the movement is more fluid and quicker than this game will be intense and like a game of chess for two people that are really good at it... I know this game will far outlive DA even with the same fighting system.... all of the fatalities, levels, secrets, puzzle combat, chess combat, and other features will keep me playing for a long time.... but I hope that the other 80% goes into tweaking(not changing entirely) the fighting system a bit more, decent character voices, I guess finishing the unfinished characters and stages...
But I guess the point I'm trying to make is that some of the complaining or critisism is just some of us trying to make the game all it can be... later
