Can you guys explain how MK2 online works?

I'm thinking of buying one.

Does it have lag? Can you compare it lag wise to MKA?
If there's no lobby how do you get in to a match?
How many players are out there...

1 - It does have lag, yet i've came across no serious lag issues so far. Can't compare it to MKA lag. I've got a new connection which has helped since my upload is 1330

2 - You search and Join a Hosted game or Invite a user in your Friends list to a game you are Hosting.

3 - Quite a few, yet no real competion. Played a few top leaderboard players but didn't pose a threat and still got smashed.
