I would add 2 more to the classic return list for a total of 9. they are: classic Sub zero and smoke.
subzero - He's definitely not the one from mkda.
smoke - we already saw a sketch of him in the PSM article.

Oh yeah, Smoke would be sweet, anyways, I'll only put CONFIRMED characters on the list.
Though I would LOVE to see Smoke in 3D.

Thanks, Murdoink. I was just typing up a list myself when I looked to see if one was up--sure enough it was, and in the same basic order (New, DA, Prior). One thing--not that it matters much--I was wondering was if they were thinking of MKDA/MKTE in the same vein (which would have Noob as one of the six, then). I doubt it, but I'm happy to see some old favorites and anxious to play the new warriors.

I thought the same, MethMaker, but we might not know that until we have all the 24 characters confirmed. :(

About the Smoke sketch, it appeared in the last PSM and it shows Smoke fighting Bo Rai Cho the lower level of that boat.
Now, because of this, I added Bo' Rai Cho to the list, though we don't really know if he will be a fighter or not...

They talk about 6 returning chars from DA, right? Do they mean "characters who were in DA" or characters "exclusive to DA" (in other words, who was new in DA).
If the latter is the case, Sub-Zero or Scorpion might be added to the classic characters.
I'm very pleased that Kabal is back. Perhaps his rivalry with Mavado could be explored. I'm also still a bit hoping that one of the cyborgs returns, along with Jax. For one reason or another, I have a feeling we also might see Frost or Nitara back. And then I forget about Reptile... hmmm... how are they going to cram all these characters into one game?

Smoke i think is definently in MKD, cuz i dont think they show a sketch in PSM him if he wasnt in it, Midway is known for bringing out little teaser like that, but i could be wrong:)

GOOD question, as said above, we might notice that when we get more characters confirmed, if that happens, there was 8 new characters in MKDA (plus the 2 secret ones) that would make a total of 10, which only one has been confirmed.
On the other hand, if that happens, the list of returning from classic MK games would be almost complete.
Finally, we still need more info. :P

Are you sure they're counting Bo Rai Cho as one of the six? I think he's only been confirmed in Konquest.

That's why I put an asterisk after his name, it means he hasn't been confirmed as a fighter.

I wonder if the Outworld Agency is going to be playing any role in MK:D. The spaces reserved for the returning characters could very well be for Sonya, Jax and Cyrax. Though if the case, We won't see what happened between Quan Chi and Drahmin.
I think Quan Chi may have killed Shang Tsung off.
One of the new characters may very well be a Vampire, Thanks to Nitara's role in MK:DA.
I also wonder if Mavado or any of the Red Dragon are going to be playing a part, Though now that Kabal is confirmed... Mavado is pretty much useless... Possibly even killed by the crimefighter. So some of the new characters may be Red Dragons, And bcause of the "Ninja Rage" I doubt any of the new characters will be Lin Kuei ninjas. Though Smoke definitley needs to return as one of the Classic characters because him and Sub-Zero have a strong partnership and Sub-Zero could use the aid of his former Lin Kuei friend right now with the threat of the Red Dragon and the Tekunin.
We could also be seeing the return of Rain... Though i may be the only one who thinks it. Sindel is Queen of Edenia, Kitana is the Princess. Rain was childhood friends with Kitana and it was Rain's own father that was formerly Queen Sindel's General. So now Rain may be returning as Sindel's General and aiding her in the battle against the Dragon King, Now that Queen Sindel is taking action. Possibly even her body guard.
Also under the Returning list i there might be Shao Kahn, Sheeva or Kintaro. Shao Kahn may be in fighting to keep his power and kill off the opposition. Kintaro or Sheeva for a fact that Kitana and Goro created the treaty between their world's. Sheeva may be comming back to reprise her rold of Sindel's body guard... Though most likely dead. Kintaro on the other hand, Had a huge loyalty towards Goro and may come seeking revenge for Goro's defeat... Again, Under the leadership of Sindel who most likely freed him from his prison in Outworld once it was relinquished from Shao Kahn's control. Though i have a feeling that there's going to be a Shokan in this game, Maybe not a returning Shokan like Sheeva or Kintaro, But then a new character.
That's all the reasoning i can think of for those characters.

The fact that only 6 are returning from DA is really throwing me off. Especially since 3 are already confirmed (as fighters). That doesn't leave much open for the other major players to return. My top pick for returning DA characters is Kung Lao.

That's why I think they meant EXCLUSIVE to DA, and that scorpion, sub zero..etc.. count as the classic characters. This would make more sense.

If they mean 6 from the entire DA game, then I think a good number of people are going to be mad. There's only three spots left...what happens to Raiden, Jax, Sonya, Cyrax, Shang, and Quan? I'm almost certain the DA is dead, whether they killed each other or one of the heroes did. We might be in for a surprise when we find out a few of our favorite characters have been killed off.

Where are you getting this stuff from Konqrr? Or are you pulling all of it out of a magical hat?

The article claims the classic characters will be making their 3-d debut, so I'm guessing they'll all be ones who didn't appear in MKDA. I figure count Scorp and Sub as returning characters.

I dunno, killing off most of there main characters, sonya, cyrax, johnny cage, raiden, seems a bit risky. Also, in DA's storyline, it didn't seem like to many people were killed off so I'd have to say count the da characters exclusive to da. But then again, if the artical said, "3d dabiew" then there probley right.

If a lot of characters get killed off, it'll show the darkness of MKD. Moreso, if they're killed by the Dragon King.
On the negative side, you'll be killing a lot of people favorites.
