I thought it was Tanya back in the E3 days, but ever since we saw that first render of her on the MKD website, I've always throught it was Kira, also.

Could anyone tell what Tanya's Kobu jutsu looked like? She was moving around too much for me to get a really good look at them, but they seem to be kamas? In any case they looked like they'll fit her well.
edit: forgot this, I acted like a n00b and posted before i read the boards. Excitement got the best of me. It still wasn't really much on Tanya footage, but it was enough to make me happy for awhile.

The Kobu Jutsu look like a (All) Metal Kamas, very similar to Nitara's Kamas in MKDA.

They're just modified kamas.

Kira's weapons are used the same way you used Kano's weapon.

now all we are missing 7 styles

Jax007 - I tried to get a screencap, but there's none where they're not moving so they're all blurred. But yeah, looking at it again, she doesn't really hold them like kamas.

Regarding Tanya's weapon stance, Kobu Jutsu - it is a martial art that utilises short weapons - the five principle implements being the hanbo, bo, tonfa, sai and kama. So her weapon is likely a hybrid type made up of tonfa and kama, given what we have seen.

Why is Shujinko listed as having the Mantis, Shaolin Fist and Dan Tien Dao(?) styles? I understand he was probably just given them for demonstration purposes, but we still do get to pick the styles for him, right?

Something occurs to me that takes off Shang Tsung on the possibility that he can be a super secret.
If all the souls were released when Raiden sacrificed himself wouldn't that mean if Shang did live through wouldn't he be extremely old from the loss of souls? I know he could probably absorb a few souls of some denizens of OW but he'd still wouldn't have that much to go on to be as young looking as he was in DA. Could this mean that he'll either not be in at all, or will we see a much aged Shang from the good old days of MK1? Of course I'm not really up for him in the game, it just was a thought that just hit me.

I am not sure about that whole shang and souls stuff but i doubt that he will change.Although it would be cool to play as the shang from MK1 rendered in 3D.

Out of the first 12 characters you can unlock, the top row are originally from MK1 & 2.
The 2nd row are from 3 to DA and the bottom row are all new.
Hmm. Just something interesting I noticed.

I think if there is a super unlockable secret characters, they are from the prison, cause jade, is in the prison, and she is a regular unlockable, so the rest if there is Super unlockable, are the supers, and like a gammer told me yesterday, that ed boom said the main will be the 24, but there will be alot more, i dont think they would put character models in the game without makeing em playable..... also to that note they only worked on 2 systems, which gives em more time, gamecube with be finished in 05, so they have time for every character ^_^

Are there really going to be super unlockable characters from past MK games? I keep reading about it...but I have my doubts. A Blaze or Mokap character I can believe, but past MK characters sounds too good to be true.

old Shang Tsung sounds good to me :)

From all the screen shots and little clues its almost clear now who IS and who IS NOT guna be in the game. although i'm very disappointed to find that half of the list is new characters and characters that should be forgoten.
I'm happy to hear that Ermac, Smoke and Noob are guna be in the game, but i was really hoping to see human reptile from MKII and MK trilogy, and also Rain would have been good, but why would they want to keep Bo Rai Cho, and all these other freaks.
would have been good to have seen Rain and the human reptile nija in the game, although i have seen reptile in the konquest mode but it looks doubtful hell be playable, shame though.
