Imo, they should show Baraka and the Tarkatans destroying the Temple of the Order of Light and ripping the monks to shreds...
Kung Lao could kick some ass, and I suppose a few other monks could too - since they are Shaolin fighting monks - and then at the end Lao is the only one left. Liu Kang shows up a bit later, happy he just saved the world, then sees everyone dead, and finds Lao, there is a bit of explanation... then they set off to Outworld.

Crow and I were discussing this topic in the IRC, and he suggested using some of your idea as well. We do need to see a bit of the aftermath of MK1, so a scene with Shang and Shao would be a good starter to the intro. Maybe we could even see the 'flying kick' Liu does to beat Shang in MK1, then we see your idea...THEN, it cuts to the Temple and the carnage.
Hey, some of the MK team read the forums, so ya never know! Right now I'd like to see more USERS read the topic and respond. Both Crow and I think this is a very good thread, and it deserves more response.

Just give it some time, obviously you can tell it is a good thread - since it's be rated - trust me people will reply.
And even if no one else replies, some n00b will come along in a few months when this is on Page 10 and you have long forgotten about it, and then you'll see it top of Page 1...

I think that both your ideas are sweet and should so be used for the new game. I would also like to see Kahn a hell of alot more he should be the main bad guy as he is the best boss character in all of the games.....plus his look really cool too.

Both of your ideas are awesome. I'd also like to see a quick flash to the Lin Kuie temple. You would see icy myst on the floor and the young Sub-Zero meditating. The grand master would come in and tell him that his older brother has been killed. Sub-Zero would open his eyes and they would freeze over as he sets off.

opening:lui kang putting the final blows on old shang tsung then it shows tsung fall to the ground then it cuts to the lin kuie and it shows sub zero meditating and then smoke enters the room and informs sub zero he must go find his brother.then it cuts to the temple of light were chaos and hell broke loose tarkatens are killing monks left and right then it shows kung lao kicking some tarkaten ass then him and baraka are aboutto spare when lui kang enters the temple baraka takes off to informer shao khan and lui and kung start kick ass then it cuts to shao kahn were it shows him and old shang then he restores his youth then declares mortal kombat 2

Combined, both your ideas rock. I was thinking of the having the ending to MK1 and opening to MK2 fused and then introduce Kung Lao somehow. You two summed it up perfectly. Great job guys!

i hope Shang Tsun will b back... and old school Sub Zero costume with ... also... Reptyle old school costume... cuz fuck.. Here is how I think it will start.
It will show Goro, Kano, Cage and Sonya at the Pit fighting. Goro falls or whatever happened to him, Cage is thrown to safety and Kano and Sonya are sucked into a portal to Outworld. It'll show Jax asking Cage about Sonya, Liu Kang kicking Tsungs ass, Shao Kahn kicking Tsung ass, Tsung gets young, Kano and Sonya are imprisoned, Kang finds all of his fellow monks dead, Lao and Kang go to Outworld after meeting with their thunder god.

Here is how I would see the intro to Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks.
Raiden would be narrating the events of what happened during the 10th Mortal Kombat Tournament. It would show Liu Kang in his final showdown with the elderly Shang Tsung. Shang Tsung would morph into different types of warriors and Liu Kang would finish off the fight by hitting Shang Tsung with the Flying Kick.
We would see the island begin to crumble and watch only Johnny Cage escape from the island with Raiden while Liu Kang escapes on his own.
After that Raiden would narrate what was happening in Outworld. Shang Tsung would beg for his mercy and Shao Kahn will grant him, Shang Tsung becomes younger and he sets off to destroy Liu Kang and his friends. Then we see in Earthrealm the Shaolin Temples and Kung Lao is standing with the monks in training. While this happens Sonya and Kano witness this whole ordeal while getting chained up.
A portal opens and Baraka enters with a whole band of Tarkata. The Tarkata slaughter many Shaolin Monks and Kung Lao fights to survive. A statue would fall ontop of Kung Lao knocking him unconcious and hidden from the rest of the Tarkata. Kung Lao would awaken to see that Liu Kang is on his knees grieving over the death of his Shaolin Brothers. Kung Lao would be angry at Liu Kang and Raiden would narrate the feelings they had for each other. Then Liu Kang would look at Kung Lao and hold his hand out because he needs his help. Kung Lao takes his hand and then the game begins.
