Yeah I don't think anyone here is gonna say anything besides MK guy.Me personally.I stopped liking tekken after 4 was made and d.o.a. is cool and all,but it isn't mortal kombat.
Since they release pretty close together...you can guess what i'm gonna say.

We all know about MK websites and this being #1 but do Tekken, DOA or Streetfighter have websites focusing on them? MK is the shit!

MK hands down.
Used to love playing Tekken 4, but this new one shits all over it.
After playing this, I dont even want to know Tekken 5.

Oh i never actually answered the thread. To ask which game will be better when none of us(very very few) have played any of these titles is so ridiculous, i'm just going to pretend that the question was "which game series do you prefer?" The answer to which, would be Tekken first and foremost... I wonder if this thread will be closed by the time i finished posting this.

Tekken has more realistic martial arts moves than Mortal Kombat, which is why I like it for hardcore fights.... but Mortal Kombat let's me step out of the realm of reality and go extreme with the violence, special moves, and definately FATLITIES.
I'd choose MK over Tekken because only a huge gaming nerd can master all the gay moves Tekken has. Tekken is only fun to me when I play against friends and not their insanely cheap AI.
I can't say much for DOA because I've never played it.
It's like I've always said... you can't compare Tekken to Mortal Kombat because they are totally different styles of fighting games. MK is fantasy and Tekken is based more on realism.

I think you can compare them, and all have their pluses and minuses. I'll add the Soul series too.
Pluses:
MK - In your face. Gruesome.
Tekken - 1st in 3d successfully. Great Moves.
Dead or alive - Multiple tiers.
Soul Caliber - Excellent characters & weapons.
I like them all, but I started play MK1 when it came out. MKD takes us back to those roots.

I like Tekken 5 the best, because the fighting in that game is awesome .

I like MK because it's a pretty kool looking game. I like the dark feel, the fireballs and the stages. The fighting is just OK though, and that's what I look for the most in a fighting game. I'm probably hardly ever gonna play chess conquest or tetris.
I hardly ever play the adventure modes in SC2 or VF4 either.....
I just like to go straight to the fight, get my fill and that's it. That's all I really care about.
That's what I get from every game, but I love the fight engine in Tekken, so I enjoy that game the most.

Agreed. MK may own all as far as stories, characters, and fatalities go, but I do not put those factors above the actual gameplay. I buy fighting games to fight against other people.
To me, Tekken is a better fighter because it has better gameplay.
I'm not an MK hater. I love MK, but I really do think they need to develop a more fluid, deeper fighting engine. There was a very great thread on this site awhile back discussing the gameplay that pointed out how additions, such as, move properties, a wake-up system, counter hits, and reversals could enhance MK.
I believe that there are not enough options at my disposal in MK to be creative when I fight against my friends. If the gameplay was on par with that of other 3d fighters, MK, with all the xtras that it has to offer(fatals, chars, story, mini-games), would be the best fighter ever. In my opinion the xtras can't make it the best because the gameplay is underdeveloped.
As far as MKD, T5, and DOAU, I can't say which I like the most having not played any of them. If I had to guess from footage and past game experience, I would say T5 will be the best. MK:DA didn't even surpass Tekken 2 in gameplay, and after I beat arcade/konquest with everyone and unlocked all the coffins, it sat in my house collecting dust as I played Tekken Tag, VF4, and SC2 against my brothers and friends.

I agree. I think the combo system is too complex for those that are causal users, those that just don't have the memory to do it or button mashers. I am in the second category. Maybe two or 3 combos and maybe a better way to combo different styles.

You learn them in Konquest in MKDA, but you only did it two or 3 times. people get frustrated and stop playing.

Duuuuh, MK rlzzz, Tekken4 is great, the graphics are awesome but its too much real for me, the characters doesnt have special abilties, just combos and special moves like an uppercut or kick, DOA its too much annoying, i played DOA2 and it doesnt have what MK has...BLOOD, BLOOD AND....BLOOOOOOOD >D MK IS UNIQUE

What if there was no Blood or fatalities in MK, which game would you get then?

Tekken: Great fighting mechanics.

tekken has the better fighting engine n better looks
doa has good gameplay but not as good as tekkens
but it looks as good as tekken
mk gameplay still lacking but has the best presentation of all 3 games
now the reason i picked tekken is cuz i find myself playin that the most then the others imo tekken has the best ai out of the three makin it more fun to play for me.. and its newbie friendly anyone can pick up n play
mk is really about the gimmicks after a few weeks it really gets boring and the ai sucks also mkda wasnt newbie friendly... though the old 2d games were the best..

Ah comon, you didnt even mention VF3evo? Thats just wrong, not even Soul Calibur. Here is my personal fav list (3d only, since it seems we are going in that direction):
1) Tekken - TTT rocks, T5 will be the best!
2) Virtua Fighter - Deepest and for that reason sometimes not the most fun (very close second)
3)Soul Calibur - Distant 3rd
4)Mortal Kombat - lets face it, its fun but the engine is not good mkd looks promising enough to outdue maybe SC since its so fun, but it wont even get close to VF or tekken
5) thats it, I dont even consider DoA a fighting game (no offense)

Yeah, DOA is a crock of shit. It's not a fighting game it's a sellout for horny teenage nerds. No offense to those who play it.
