I think if there should be music, it should be two songs that I think fit with Mortal Kombat perfectly.
Fear Factory "Zero Signal"
They played this song in the background of the first MK movie during the fight with Scorpion and Cage, and it fit perfectly. This song in general fits the MK universe perfectly.
Deftones "Digital Bath"
The deadly dark melody and the spiritualism of this song really fit MK well. They should play it in the end credits though when you beat the game with someone.

Actually, pretty much anything by Fear Factory is appropriate, their music is something really pumping... Also some hardcore techno and industrial techno would be welcomed by me...
Zero Signal would definately get players pumped during the game, but I'm not sure how well it would fit in with the martial arts. The instumental plays out so hard that it might clash way too much.
But I think that the music in the games has been far from great so far (it flows well with the fighting though, but I thought SC II surpassed MKDA when it came to music), and it would be an excellent idea to include licensed music. It wouldn't hurt to go in a different direction after all.
Maybe they could include some kinds of trance music, im sure that would fit well. Also a menu where you could choose the song you want to play during your fight would be nice too.

Anything from Linkin Park, they have very hard and fast paced music for fighting.

Eminem - the real slim shady.
Lu Bega - Mambo numbo 5
Spice girls - say you'll be there

If the lyrics were taken out and the electronic samples were boosted, I might go for that, but I don't think that mainstream music should ever be used in a video game (although im a huge Lp fan)

I continue to stand by the original MK music...heavy metal, rock, all that has no place in MK. If I ever heard Linkin Park or Outkast or Adema playing throughout Mortal Kombat while I fight, i'd just disable the music. If there was a soundtrack option, I wouldn't mind at all (like in Soul Blade for the PS2)

I agree. If they were to put licensed music in Deception, I think it would be much better if the bands they used actually knew how to PLAY their instruments (unlike Linkin Park...bunch of fucking whiny bitches). I also agree with the people who suggested "Zero Signal," because that song is just perfect for Mortal Kombat.

Hmm.. a few pics of mine would be:
Black & White - Static-X
Get Inside - Stone Sour
Original Track - Slipknot
Original Track - Rob Zombie
I say "original track" on the last two because their basic themes and genre's for songs they write would fit the game well... Slipknot did a great job, imo, in making "My Plague" for the Resident Evil movie, and with Rob Zombie... well, a lot of fans of R/Z would know that no explaination would even be needed. :)

I agree with this. MKD seems much more of a dark game and would feel stronger if these two made the soundtrack, (though last I heard they are still pissed at each other, again!) All you need to do is listen to the no-vocal tracks Manson wrote for the first Resident Evil movie to understand how perfect this would be.

Yo man!
What this game needs is some IRON MAIDEN!
Number Of The Beast!
Can I Play With Madness!
Be Quick Or Be Dead!
And yes, we do need some ROB ZOMBIE!
oh yeah and Doggwarrior wants some tool....
For everyone's sake, they better include custom soundtracks for X-Box otherwise we would probably end up with something like Linkin (Logs) Park or Adema again...
The soundtrack for the Mortal Kombat games are always good, it's just when you have heard them for the 100th time it gets old (like when a pop station or Mtv starts playing your favorite song or video)...
Sure you could turn down the game volume and listen to headphones, but that get annoying and you don't get the game sounds....

No Rap Rock. I have no clue which bands would be good for MK I thought ADEMA was terrible. i have no clue. they should just keep the regular music. It would be annoying with that Music you wouldn't be able to here "GET OVER HERE!" or any of the classic sound effects.

Dan Forden would work. I'm also all about the pumped up music that really gets you into the game. They will figure something out.

Linkin Park would RULE in MK!
