My own speculation on the MKDe Storyline

After "studying" all current sources which include the trailer and plots from MKDA. Here are things that I am inclined to believe are true.
- MKDe is in fact a continuation of MKDA.
- Shao Kahn will return, I base this on the fact that we hear his voice and Midway hinted that he survived the assassination in chatrooms before. Shao Kahn's forces also seem to be present, Baraka and Mileena for example.
- The Dragon King is the primary villain of MKDe and he in fact possesses Reptile's body now.
- Baraka never died cuz Quan Chi's ending never happened.
- The eyes we see in the trailer are reptilian but they are most likely Baraka's based on the color, shape and the area around the eyes. Compare the first Baraka pic to the eyes and you'll see what I mean.
- Baraka is playing a key role in the plot, I don't think it is a coincidence that there is so much emphasis on him in the trailer and the fact that he was the first character revealed.
- The traitor could be either Baraka or Mileena, betraying Shao Kahn and working for the Dragon King.
- I think there will be MANY deceptions in MKDe, and not just the main one which is referenced in the trailer.
- I believe Shang Tsung is finally dead.
- I believe Quan Chi is alive and well. Quan Chi is too weak atm to form a 4th faction in MKDe so he will be obligated to ally with either Shao Kahn, The Dragon King or the Earth Warriors. Quan Chi could have suffered from the accident with Drahmin but we'll have to wait and see.
- Sub Zero looks like the Shredder because he is probably older and now controls the Lin Keu (sp?).
All in all, I think the plot of MKDe will be straight out of a soap opera. It will be the most complex and best of all MK plots and I'm very grateful for that. I think the 3-way battle that could happen between the Dragon King, Shao and the Earth Warriors will create some very interesting interactions between the characters. Shao will probably be a playable normal character. All that's missing is Midway to throw in Shinnok and his gang of goons for the fun of it. :p
If Liu Kang makes an appearance, he will join either the Dragon King or Shao Kahn (DRAMA!) and later on deceive them, even kill them.
