To abide by MKO rules, i cannot link you to the article due to the fact the article has scans directly on it.

It claims that 'Robin, Green Lantern, Black Canary, Powergirl, Wonder Woman and Hawkman' will make an appearance in this game.

But whether they mean playable or cameo's is not made clear.

They also reveal that there will be Downloadable Content and that this is potentially a 'Two-Game Deal' between Midway and DC.

They claim this information is from X360 Magazine. (Many of us have seen the scans, but the scans only show a small portion of text, so we cannot decipher whether this information is true or not; whether it is from the magazine or not)

(Thanks to TonyTheTiger for allowing me to re-establish a thread on this article)

Please do not recite text word for word from the article if you come by it, nor link to it through this thread. Thankyou.

Please, explain what you mean by a "two game deal."

Does this mean MK9 will be a crossover also? Thanks for your patience.

Well some people class this as MK8, whilst others don't, so thats to your own opinion until Midway clarifies.

All what is stated is that this MK vs DC crossover could potentially have a sequel. But alot of this comes down to how well MK vs DC does in sales if you think logically.

Hmm I guess if they do make a MKvsDC2 that they will make it better,oh who am I kidding??
But seriously,I wouldn't mind if they were to make a sequel to it.But the cast on the DC side doesn't interest me at all, other then maybe Batman and Superman.

Well more characters are to be revealed in the next PSM3 magazine.

So you never know who might be unveiled glasses

Wow, that's... almost reasonable.

What, no plant-controlling characters in a fighting game? I am so confuse-ed!

GIVEN the fact that she can control plants and produce countless toxins and things, she is a HELL of a lot more interesting than somebody who has super-strength or can shoot beams out of their eyes.

She could provide some phoenonemal special moves with her ability, and not only is it unique, but the possibilites could be endless for what she could do.

Her look aswell could easily translate into MK and is better than bright shiny spandexy costumes :)

It's rather funny that we can't place a link to an article that happens to have scans on this site. Like, they'll magically find out and sue.

Aaaaanyways, I think I'll go fucking insane if there's 2 MK vs DC games. I will kill boon.

I'd rather Sandman and big hell hands than spontaneous plantlife.
Poison Ivy would make more sense in a Capcom game than Mortal Kombat, even with the concessions the DC visitors bring with them.

If I'm going to have an elaborate bikini/unitard, I'd rather a fighter be in it.

Okay, and Superman makes more sense because? The same goes for the vast majority of DC characters.

Poison Ivy could be really something.

& I really hope she is in, and then that way you would see my argument :)

Superman throws a punch (when Bryan Singer isn't involved).

Erm, I'm quite sure Poison Ivy can do the same. & Has been proven to.

Regardless or not whether she is a shit-hot fighter.

When there's a selection cull for a dozen-or-so characters for a fighting contest, I'm going to favour the ones who, distilled to their definitive visions, aren't traditionally absent from their own fights.

Ivy and her plantlife-pokemon might get a look in for a sequel, but for now, I cannot even begin to imagine why you'd be looking for anything but more apt fighting icons. Icons presumably more relevant than Poison Ivy.

Like I have stressed before, her abilities could make up for it. & seeing with DC to retcon a lot of stuff, it is plausible that they could say she can fight la de da, or perhaps with the merger of the realms characters get toned up and down respectively, this could apply to her.

But we simply don't seem like we will be able to agree on anything, so I can't see the need for us to continue to waste forum space bouncing off one another.

Oh, well now I'm convinced.
Drastically altering the character to justify her over more recognised and suitable icons? I don't know why I didn't think of that myself...

Due to the fact they're drastically going to have to alter Superman's powers it really wouldn't surprise me if they did put Poison Ivy in.

Sarcasm so isn't neccesary. & anybody can throw a punch if bodily able. You're forgetting that this is YOUR opinion, not mine or whoever's, we have established that neither of our opinions are going to be realised by one another so there is no need for us to discuss this further.

No. I am saying that your opinion of Poison Ivy is your opinion because you don't want her in the game.

At the end of the day, if Midway see fit for her to be in it then so be it, regardless of the fact of whether you think it's right or not.

Really? I thought I had the final say.
Heads will roll for this! You mean all I'm supposed to do is discuss on a discussion board? Madness!

Don't worry. Noone's accusing the MK team of making brilliant decisions. I certainly don't mean to suggest Poison Ivy is disqualified just because common sense demands it.

There's an issue with 360 Fanboy's journalism skills, though I can't say I'm surprised since the whole Engadget network seems to be filled with bozos.

The NeoGAF poster in question made a character list also based on the information that the TRMK insider gave from the convention. Robin, Hawkman, and the like are not mentioned in the magazine and that is where that info originally came from. 360 Fanboy failed to check the main source and is being fed information second-hand.
