I think it's possible. Look at Kenshi, he's turned into one of most people's favorites. I'd say that if the stories are interesting enough, their fighting styles, special moves, and fatalities add something more to the game, then yes it can happen.

even the worst Mortal Kombat games have a classic character or two. Mortal Kombat 4 game us Quan Chi for example. I'm sure there's more than one new classic character.

I definately don't consider Baraka and Kabal classics. I definately think Ashrah and Skab have the most potential so far (maybe Ben).

Yeah Kenshi was sort of accepted as a classic character. I believe Hotaru is looking good without knowing anything about him.

It depends on the individual. Baraka and Kabal are just SWEET! I don't care much for Kenshi.

But I think or hope that the classic character from MKD for me will be Kira - the female Kano just as Kano is classic.
I don't even know what she looks like.

So far in every Mk game there will be a new person that stands out that people will like.
So Im sure there will be at least one if not more that will be someones instant favs.Long Live Johnny Cage.

The only classic characters in the game, IMO are Scorpion, Sub-Zero V, Sub-Zero VI, Liu Kang, Raiden, Goro and Johnny Cage. Sonya and Kitana barely miss out. I also agree with Kenshi and Hotaru one day becomming classic characters.

Frm what I've seen, from concept art in the Krypt, Dairou easily has the most potential to be a classic. His look is simple, yet unique, and he seems to possess a very interesting personality. I was pretty upset that he didn't make it into MK:DA. Especiialy since they had time to include Li Mei(face it, she was a filler).
