"Website Teases Next Mortal Kombat
Countdown clock winding down to info.

March 28, 2008 - A "next-gen" Mortal Kombat was announced back in September of 2006 but hasn't been heard from since. That looks like it is about to change. Noob.com, a website registered to Ed Boon and Midway Games, has recently updated with a countdown clock. Ed Boon is the creative director of the Mortal Kombat team.

The countdown ends in just under 20 days and promises answers when it runs out. It just so happens that Midway's Gamers Day event is April 17, roughly 20 days from now. We're guessing that is not a coincidence.

Along with the counter, the page features dim pictures of a man's eyes and four exotic animals. Underneath the pictures are two number strings. If you assign them to letters of the alphabet, it reads "Free Klose."

Previously while talking on Mortal Kombat, Boon promised to, ".. start new, with a bunch of brand new characters, a whole new fighting system, a new presentation with the new graphics for the new consoles, as well as a new control scheme to take advantage of some of the new technology available."

IGN has contacted Midway with a request for more details on this teaser site and is awaiting a response."


So it looks like we're going to hear something new at Midway's Gamer's Day? Only 20 days away?? I can't freakin wait!!!!

Oh, and what do you suppose "Free Klose" means? Is it an anagram? Who knows, but I can't wait to find out!
