NICE we got Dark Kahn! Unfortunately it looks like hes yet another playable final boss

Games Radar recently posted a new video that previews Tobias's MK vs DC comic. In it we get a nice glimpse of the final boss, Dark Kahn!Unfortunatey it seems he's playable. If you remember the MK Vs DC XBL achievement story a month ago it stated that he can be unlocked by acquiring Shaok Kahn and Darkseid. Many users thought the whole Dark Kahn thing was BS, thinking that it was just an achievement title. How's your foot taste? Hate to say I told you so.

On the plus:
+We get a real final boss
+Deadly Alliance boss redux worries dissolved

On the downside:
-He's freaking playable! Final bosses should not be playable!
-They never learn

Hes not playable. The achievement is given once you've unlocked both Darkseid and Shao Kahn separately. Getting this achievement gets you a certain amount of points for your gamerscore. From what we can tell from the achievement list, it does NOT unlock anything beyond that, just like nearly every other achievement. What you "unlock" is the points. While Dark Kahn may be really in the game, a clever and topical achievement title is still just a clever and topical achievement title, and in no way confirms he is playable.

final boss is not playable. you can play with kahn or darkseid

He's not playable. You can only use Shao Khan and darkseid seperately.You get an Dark-Khan achivement by unlocking Khan and Darkseid but that's about it.

Nice! Im very pleased with his look. It doesnt look nearly as dopey as i was imagining. And its good to hear that Tobias really aproves of this crossover.

Bosses should not be playable, they make the game unbalanced, just like Armageddon. I liked Armageddon but I don't want MK vs DCU to be unbalanced.

If it's the same video we're talking about, I think he looks too much like Blaze from MKA. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing... we'll just have to wait and see with some renders and motion footage.

i think it could be about as bad as onaga/blaze.

but i don't think they'd use the same character animation/basic model three games in a row.

I really like that the design isn't something obvious, like Darkseid with a few spikey Shao Kahn armor-style flourishes! This is unexpected, but not at all unsuitable. Simple, but effective enough. They've done well!

I like everyone is like, "Dark Khan's not playable, don't worry, we won't get a broken God tier character, just Dark Sied. And Shao Khan." I mean it's not like Shao Khan has the potential to be ridiculously overpowered or anything. tongue

Of course not! Shao Kahn wasn't overpowered in any game he was playable in he was always perfectly balanced! XD

Then heres a super duper tip, don't play as them if you think they make the game unbalanced. Also they can balance them out, they kept the bosses in MKA big and strong because they wanted us to feel the difference between them and regular characters. In MKD Goro and Shao Kahn moved, jumped and did everything like regular normal characters, I was a bit upset when Midway removed that. The unbalance in MKA was intentional.
