ever think about storyline wise??

Who knows what their thinking. Before now, MKD was the perect MK for me, now it has become less because they made one of my most favorite characters a pussy who has to rely on somene else.

Smoke has finally got a unique look and who knows what unique moves he has, but yet they had to team him up with someone else so he can never fight truly alone. Smoke will always have a move with someone else, and a plain move from what I have seen, wow....an elbow double dash. Sooooo coool, not really.

CMETTH, I think you are one of the few who looks at this as a bad thing, I dont mean to come off as an ass saying that and hope you do not get offended. I think it opens the door for new possibilities, and After DA, I think they will know more that if they want to put a character in they will have to have a kick ass story, I hope this works out to your approval. They are 2 of my favs as well, but I like the direction taken, Times change, and sooner or later, they need to do something different, I GUARANTEE this will be a love or hate it more for people.

to me Noob and Smoke are 2 generic characters put them together can only shake things up and make him more interesting.

I love the idea of having 'Noob-Smoke'

I would have preferred Smoke Saibot..sounds cooler..but since Saibot is Tobias..I don't know if they can use it.

Here's my theory:

Noob and smoke tag team = sub boss
individual noob and smoke = unlocked, single player
And even though they have 2 heads on the select screen, I think you'll eventually be able to pick one or the other in a 2nd submenu after selecting their square and unlocking that feature.

Everyone is entitled his or her opinion and I accept yours. Even though it does open the doors for something bigger, I wish they would have just made a tag team mode or something, instead of just picking two characters who have a large fanbase and fusing them without any way of undoing it. They more or less forced it on us Smoke and Noob fans which I do not like. if the MK Team wanted to test something out, than make a Tag Mode and put more effort into it, than just screwing Smoke and Noob over. Their tag team moves are simple and lame, I want them to fight solo and have moves that require their powers, not some elbows or throws.

It would have felt more complete and more in place if they made a Tag Team mode or the whole game like that, not just 2 characters while everyone remains the same. It's just too out of place for me to even like.

the idea sucks. looka at it from a different perspective people been waiting to play as noob or smoke for the longest time, they were hoping that they made it to deception and they did and the mk team had to pull off some $hit like this the whole idea sucks and it is very random. now just imagine if they did it to scorpion or sub-zero or even ermac what if they had made ermac and kenshi team up? when i play with smoke i want to play with smoke and his own two fighting styles and his one weapon style and i dont want to see noob on the screen if i want to play with noob i would play with noob but i guess its not gonna be like that now there both stuck together. this has to be the worst i dea the mk team ever came up with.

Dude, if your theory is correct, I will be so glad. Hell I could kiss you, well maybe not that much, but your theory rocks.

Smoke and Noob Tag Team could be the sub-boss and than...when you pick either one of them on the same icon, it lets you choose who you want.

According to the new 1UP preview it appears that the tag team thing is true. Sounds like you'll be able to fight as Smoke, and tag off to Noob if you need or want to. I guess if you don't need or want to you don't have to. You can read the small (yet insightful) mini preview from 1UP here.

Yea it would be a throwback to the classic endurance matches of MK old, but much more stylized. Their unique tag teams moves, unmatched agility and double life bars would make for a great sub boss encounter. I mean Boon did say the sub boss would be playable and I dont see anyone more fitting than this tag team of ninja enigmas. And you know how in previous MK's the sub boss's have always been big bulky and powerful monsters? Well I think boon is going for something different this time around and focusing on stealth and speed for MKD's subboss rather than large size and power. Also, if the sub boss played the same as its unlockable version, it wouldnt be much of a suboss then would it?

And to CMETH, It is a risky move, and if ultimateryu's theory isnt correct, then it will be a risk that may have a bad reaction or a good reward. And I do respect your theory as well.

Lol rushed, i thinkt that by putting Noob and Smoke together took longer. Figures out how boths chars will work at the same time and stuff. IMO

Noob-Smoke?? I dont know...I think the idea is kind of cheesy but who knows they might have a good story line.

when he says rushed i think he means that they couldnt think of enough moves and special moves for one character so they put them together. and to me that is lazy.

the main reason that they did it was so that two very similar characters could instead of having identical moves (ermac and kenshi) they could instead work together...imo i like this idea as long as they can split up in the future or wahtever...but im still wondering if they are good or bad...hmm...also the sub boss idea is great

I just hope the storyline makes sense. Something along the lines :

that Smoke is being controlled by Noob Saibot or Onaga, to bring Sub-Zero out of hiding and also weakening him by having him decide between his friend and his goal.

Good point Jordan, it seems to me like it would take longer to figure out how to get two characters' combos to intertwine when you switch between them, rather than figuring out a few more special moves.

Personally, I think that this is one of the BEST ideas the MK team has had in a long time. If it works, think about it, you'll have two characters with unique special moves, that can switch in and out at any time during the match. No one else in the game can do that. That idea seems more innovative to me than putting noob and smoke in the game seperately, by themselves. Would I be pissed if we were talking about splicing Sub Zero and Scorpion together? Well, yeah, because they've been around since the beginning and they've always had their own moves. To the best of my knowledge, Smoke has never had his own moves before. Noob has, but I guess I've never considered him to be a real character in the series. Maybe it's the whole name thing, I dunno.

Either way, there are alot of Noob fans and Smoke fans, and I feel bad for them, as they're only really getting half of a character. Still, I hope the half that you guys get is good enough, and unique enough to enjoy. I like the idea, and I believe that it'll make them fun and unique. As for them being the sub boss though? I seriously doubt it. I have a feeling that Liu Kang or perhaps Rayden will be the sub boss. Not sure, but if they're playable, I think that it'll be a good guy, just to kinda go with the whole deception thing. Who knows.

Well first off, nobody ever said this "fusion" would be totally permenant. IM sure they could just as easily split up in later games... And nothing in the MK universe is totally set in stone without further possibility of change.

I agree 100% with CMETH. This whole tag team thing is garbage IMO. 2 AWESOME characters that couldve been simply amazing by themselves are now together with each other in battles. I cant believe it, i feel as if MKD is ruined for me now. I was looking so forward to playing MKD with Smoke and Noob seperately, i was dieing to see what styles, weapons, and moves they would have. Now i just know to myself that all that wont matter because they're working together. Its ridiculous.

The ONLY way i could only somewhat accept this is if theres an ON and OFF option. Perhaps you could have a choice if you want to play as them together or play as them seperately. But blah, i dont even know..........what are the chances of this happening? VERY SLIM.

As for the name Noob-Smoke? Hahahahaha, IMO its so horrible that its actually funny, Lol.

Damn........its gonna be alot worst for me if this whole together thing actually effects there actual storyline.

I was pretty pissed to see that they combined them, but when I saw it in motion it looked... like I could like it. I'm not going to say it's terrible until I play it, it might be cool.

However, it looks as if Reptile or Sektor won't be playable. That makes me really angry. I mean I know there are still super secret characters, and Sektor at least will likely be one of them, but I was pretty excited about the roster before... now, not so much.

I'm guessing the super secret characters will be Kang, Shang, Quan and Sektor. I hope there are more than that... but who knows.

When I want to play as Noob I'll either stay or switch to Noob and never change to Smoke for the entire rest of the match.

It's not like we are forced to play as both.. it's a switch off. A switch off thats done manually and not automatically. I hate the Idea of them being fused but what can ya do? This game has SUCH cooler fucking things to look forward to than to just dwell on the fusion of Noob and Smoke.

To me, it's not that big of a deal.

Smokes head is a blender and noob is using him to make salads.
