October 2004 is too early for MK:D to be released

This made the game not as good as it could have been. I say they should push it back so Midway can give us a complete game in December than a 75% complete game in October. I would personally wait 2-4 more months in order to have an awesome MK game. In the end, patience would pay off.

after watching the "behind the scenes, 15 hours in mk" it seems that they dont get a lot of work done. Don't get me wrong, i probably wouldnt either for that matter...but they have been working on the title for awhile now, and from the looks of pictures and such, they are progressing nicely and Oct doesnt seem to be too early....i think its right on schedual.
well actually, fomr the beginning before MKDA came out, i was honestly waiting for MK6 before DA came out. because it was a base game, they started from strach. next game will be beter they had 2 years to work on it.

come on boon! do everything ya can! im rootin for ya to give us the best mk game so far! and of cours,e a COMPLETE one
Release date time is all realative. For instance they may have incorperated in the october release date another 2-4 months of devlopment time than was orignally planned. So they have a little buffer to implement things without pushing back the release date further. Realy they are having along time to work on this game.
I don't believe we will get a 75% complete Deception. And besides they still might delay the release if they feel the absolutly need the time.

I believe the release date is fine. They're moving faster this time and they did begin to start on MK6 around... eerr... 1st quarter of 2003. So by the time its released (if october), then thats a good year and a half on the game.

Yeah I agree that october iz a good month to release the game.
But if needed, they should push the release date bac as far as they need 2.

I think it all depends on what Midway wants, not what the MK team wants. If the MK team thinks that they need more time, and Midway is okay with that, then they'll get an extension. If Midway says no, then they won't. But from everything I've seen so far, they seem to be doing a great job with this game. Furthermore, they look to be right on schedule. They started leaking screens, followed by a full preview in PSM, followed by small previews in EGM, OPM, and GameInformer (At least on their website). All of this leading up to E3.
I don't know why people keep saying that they should spend more time on it and automatically extend the release date when we haven't even seen the final product yet to judge. Yeah, if it's a steaming turd, then I'll agree whole-heartedly that they should've worked on it longer. But two years seems like enough to me, considering that they'll be using the same engine that they used for MK:DA, just refining it, tweaking it, and adding to it. Consider that fact along with the two year development cycle, as well as what we've seen so far and I personally have nothing but good faith that this game will kick massive amounts of ass!

Hell, December's fine if they have to... closer to Christmas anyway
The game looks very close to completion already. But, if they really need more time, then I'll wait! I already had to wait an extra two months for "Kill Bill VOL 2", so I'm used to waiting by now

Just reserved my copy today 4 Oct. 13.I would gladly wait 4 it to be perfected though.

One thing to keep in mind though is that MKDA was, before release, a hit or miss in terms of it's current viability. No one knew if Mortal Kombat in this day and age would be successful.
Since MKDA was a hit, we have MUCH LESS to fear with regards to fine-tuning all of the little details that went untouched for MKDA.
They know for a fact that they can become the kings of the genre again... and this time around they have more of the means to make that a reality.

After seeing that MK:DA was such a huge hit even though they didn't add everything that we all wanted. It was a new breath of fresh air into the series. Boon and company have been on this longer then we all think. My only hope is that we don't see everything before the game is released.
Seeing that Halo 2 has seen a few push backs and now coming out in September. They say that cause the fans are getting what they want and deserve nothing less. I think that Halo 2 is gonna be a awesome ass game but w/ DOOM III coming out in October on XBOX, Bungie knows that DOOM III is gonna totally kick major ass and w/it's online support as well, so they are gonna tweak it till they can to match w/DOOM III.

A game rarely ever comes out on the first scheduled release date. I woudn't be suprised if it ended up being pushed back to November. But it's not Boon's decision as to when the game is released. If Midway wants it out by October it will be out by October. I don't think that is right, but it's the truth.
Certain companies will give leeway to developers. Square for instance will give FF developers all the time they need. Just look at FFXI, just now released on PS2. This isn't a normal time for a game to be released. Prime times are June (for kids summer break) and late October/early November (so it's out in time for parents normal shopping season). Point is, Square's relaxed approach to developers is obviously because every game they release sell's extremely well and is usually considered by most to be a great game. Maybe Midway should take a hint?

the problem is people assume mk6 is a new game that just started. wrong. mk6 was started shortly after mk5 proved it was a sales success. it seems ou think it mk6 just started in 2004. the screenshots show how complete the graphics and arenas look already. i think another 5 months of development is quite enough especially since this time the fighting engine is being carried over with a few extras unlike mk5's made-from-scratch system. i do, however, agree that if the game does end-up running behind it should be delayed. the absence of all the cool things shown in the krypt makes me think of how much better mk5 could have been. since they do not have to focus on the fighting engine this time, they have plenty of time to put their energy towards the 3 new modes. i am not worried as of yet about them meeting the oct release.

I think October is way too early for this game to be released. They need to allow much more time than was taken in DA for actually balancing the characters abilities so we don't have only 5 good fighters.

They announced that they were working on MK6 before 2003 even hit...or rather they said they were working on it immediately after MKDA was out. They've been working on it for well over a year. By October, it will be done.

im hoping that when they say that every single MK character will be in Konquest, they wont make them look generic due to time. There are many characters so i hope they make them look really kool. I dont want them to look bad. I wonder if they are gonna change their outfits or if they will have the outfits from the last game they were on.

I beleive that the game is just about done right now. From the trailer and the interveiw in PSM the fighting system and fatalities are done or damn close.I think Konquest and the online feature will take til october to iron out.
