Official Discussion of Stages, Stage Design, & Environmental Traps. What would you would like to see in MKvsDCU?
I actually was thinking today of making a thread about stages since there are basically no interesting topics to talk about in MK vs. DCU. However, a quick check shows me that there is already a stickied thread.
Anyways, the one thing I didn't like in Super Smash Bros. Brawl was the fact that there were more stages than characters. But with only twenty characters in this game, I don't know how many stages I'd want.

I feel motion in the baclground is key.
like in the background of hell, random souls burning or and even subway trains going buy, and even various dark figures sneaking around in the forest etc. like its more than a stage but a world where this bout is taking place.

Background movement. Fires, meteors, explosions, people running around, other fights taking place.

I just hope they live up to their concept art.
If you look at the concept art of the Daily Planet, it's rich of destruction and all, but if you look at the gameplay footage, it's rather "empty". Especially one side, where you only see a grey wall with windows.
I like the suggestion of somebody in here, to have some stuff you can smash them into. Like for example in the Daily Planet stage, have a phonebooth there, where you can smack someboy against it, damaging the phonebooth accordingly.
And the stages should be "darker"... like MKI and MKII... used to give me the creeps :)

What I don't understand is why the Mk team always sees fit to
highlight the obvious. For instance in Deception & Armageddon,
you've got blinking red & yellow highlight telling you where the
deathtraps and such are. I did not like this, It looked and felt very
unnatural, when it should have been seamless. And now we've
got this shiny, blinding light separating the two merged arenas.
I would have really preferred a seamless look instead.
