Ok to start this is about the "trading cards" we have seen with characters that are NOT presently confirmed for the game such as, Kitana, Sonya(who has been causing an uproar of hopes by none other than Queve, lol), and a Shokan, who appears to be our favorite 4 armed sub-boss Goro.

While these people are not confirmed yet, and they are presently in these cards, it leads to much speculation such as questions like...

Does this mean____ is playable?!?!?

Are these the Super Secret Characters Boon was telling us about?

Is this the line-up for MK 7?

I'm sure we have all popped in a thread with the questions comming up. Less space is availabe for other threads, so what I'm trying to do is develop a thread to include all of this. This will be used for possible ideas thoughts as to what these cards infact do.

My idea is that these characters I have mentioned are not infact any way playable in the game as a hidden or SS character, but for the purpose of seeing what happened to them or how they were effected after the DA ending, and the DK claiming his status as Emperor back. I am almost certain that we will see more characters that we will not expect suck as Reiko, ect, to know what they have been doing in their absense. Well let this discussion begin!

i saw kitana's bio, i don't think they would put a bio of someone who is not in the game

I'm really not sure if it means they'll be playable or not. It wouldn't take too much to make Sonya and Kitana playable, since they already have 3D models. Goro, on the other hand, may not. We won't know till we see his bio. As of now, I consider the bios/cards to be nothing more than extended versions of the character's endings.

Maybe it's just concept stuff, like all the pics and stuff from DA's Krypt. They may have been in, then taken out, or didn't work the way they wanted them to.

I agree that these are just information on what has happened to this character. I am almost 100% sure and willing to bet that they are not playable.

We have not seen Kitana's bio. We have seen her trading card. We have only seen Ermac, and Noob Smoke's bios thus far. We have seen Jade, Sindel, Mileena, Raiden, Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Hotaru, Shujinko, Baraka, Sonya, and Kitana's trading cards. These are the IGN bios. We also know that Jax and Goro both have trading cards as well. I'm willing to bet that Goro's will talk about how he led the Shokan forces into battle but was mortally wounded by Noob Saibot, and died later. And Jax's will read about how he met up with Sonya to take on the Deadly Alliance at Shang Tsung's palace. Keep your eye out for more trading cards that have to do with various MK:DA characters. I won't believe a character is in the game until I see them actually fighting.

LOL. Well, I happen to agree with you. This vids might just be extras, but they might also mean the characters are in.

I guess we have to wait. Thats why my hopes are not 100% up, but they are high.

In Kitana's Bio there is no footage her in MK Deception ,it's all old stuff,however the footage looks edited,if you watch the top of the screen it jumps suddenly as if something has been cut out.
If this is not the case then Kitana isn't playable IMO or the bio would have a tiny part on the new version of Kitana.

See this is what I like, one big thread, that has everyones opinion, where you can see everything, rather than look in 5 or mroe different topics to get a clue on what people think.

I am going into the game optimistic, I rely on what we know 100% and what is confirmed, sure I am happy to hear some of this stuff, and say what if, but if I look at it like these are 100% confirmed, it may put a damper on the game when I cant release them. I think they are just a way for us to catch up and see what is happening with the ones who are not in.

I dont see why they would give characters bios if they werent playable or a boss.

But I am hoping they havent given all the MKDA characters a small bio to wrap up whats happened to them, as they cant cover everyone in the into movie and not every character will be able to be coveredin others' stories. If thats the case, then Kitana wont be playable

also, they dont seem to have changd the appearance of Jax, Sonya, Goro or Kitana. Lets hoe they jsut aint comlpetely finished 100% yet.

well, look at it this way. There's still at least a month more before they finally release it. If Ed Boon decides to make them playable, of course, it's a possibility. They might still work on these characters with the bios in it. Just keep your fingers cr0ssed. Anyway, for people saying that Ed Boon won't make this bios if those characters aren't playable, it's because they are in the game, whether in Konquest or the Prison stage and they may not be playable but still in the game. But logically speaking, if you guys saw Sonya dead on the steps in the intro movie, how is it that she could have ended up in the Prison ? same goes with Goro too.

IMO Kitana and Sonya 3-D model( and all others in the card page) in the trading card is very detailed. So to me that hints that they most likey will be playable.

Exactly!!! It is quite confusing, if it's just for storyline purporses WHY would they mind including a full 3D model of said characters in the game...?? It just doesn't make sense

My theory is that they have a trading card for every character in Konquest. Which we already know is all of them (hence they all have 3D models). I mean, I would've thought differently if the ones we've seen hadn't included Goro, who we KNOW isn't playable.

Hmmm.. no... Haven't you seen how the characters from konquest look like???? They don't even have fingers!!!!! Yet these models are fully detailed... Yes, all characters will appear in some way or another in konquest but that doesn't mean they all will be playable for fights and have all the required polygons

The fully detailed models we've seen (Jax, Sonya, Kitana) are all MKDA models. They're no different at all from their MKDA state. I don't think it's wise to assume there will be a lot of super secret characters. Nor prudent to hope for.

Ok I saw the video for kitana, and it was just that... A video. Just like those that appear at IGN where Ed Boon talks about a particular character, so that doesn't mean that they've been ported, Kitana just appears standing and rotating like the rest of the bios, and while Boon talks it just showed clips of Kitana from MK II... Now I think this doesn't necessarily mean that she's playable, nor Sonya or Goro, since they all look with their DA's outfits the most probable thing is that they won't be playable... This is dissapointing... another deception for "MK Deception" indeed

HHAHAA I kno i'm goona get my ass FLAMED for this but...
What if Kitana and other characters where the "sub-bosses"...
It says she became his bodyguard
Boon said the sub boss would be like nothing before...So what if it was many characters? (at the same time, combined (like Noob Smoke), or one after another endurance style... )
Or at least she could be like a sub-sub boss (like Tsung in MK2)
IDK.. it's just an idea...

or maybe she is secret like Jade/Smoke/Noob in MK2..
Actuyally... any of these would be cool for me...
