I don't think Cage or Liu Kang or gay at all, in fact they were my favorite characters in the first two Mortal Kombats.

Johnny Cage isn't really that goofy, hes sarcastic and isn't really afraid of anyone that's why he says those witty lines, to taunt his opponent and get them angry. Besides, I think Johnny Cage is the kind of character that is most normal. He is a mortal, and i've always liked that character for his originality. If you think about it, Johnny Cage had already died and he came back so he knows what it's like to die now and he brings that knowledge into his battles which makes him a deadly opponent.

Liu Kang is a shaolin monk in which his whole life was trained to defend what is right, it is natural for him to go out and fight for what he believes in. I've always respected that character for that. How else do you think he became champion of Mortal Kombat and fought Shao Kahn back in Mortal Kombat 2? I thought Liu Kang was going to start a dynsasty of warriors when I relized that him and Kung Lao are shaolin brothers. I remember hearing that they started training a new generation of shaolin warriors the way of martial arts and the way of light. Again, Liu Kang is the champion of Mortal Kombat so I think he will return, mabey not in Mortal Kombat Deception but in later titles i'm pretty sure of it.

As for the new characters I think it's good we get a new smell of fresh new characters but don't give us 2/3rds of the character roster of them. I feel it would get alot of characters angry, look at Mortal Kombat 3 when Scorpion wasn't in the game, nor was Reptile. The only reason I play Mortal Kombat is to see what happens to my favorite characters and play with a few buddies in my spare time. I've played Mortal Kombat since I was like 4 years old and it stuck with me my whole life. Those original characters still give me the feel for what it was like back in the day when the original Mortal Kombat came out, so I agree with the person who started this post about keeping most of the original, and by meaning original I mean Mortal Kombat 1 and 2 characters.

i think grizzle is right. I must addmit that i dont realy like jonny cage but i like liu kang.

okay, i personally think that reptile is not the dragon king. if he is, then, midway had already released too much information on the 6th instalation of the game, which i dont think they'd do.

i think that liu kang is the dragon king (said again) but everybody, including almost all the people here think that its reptile. (get it? deception, they decieved the people to think it was actually reptile) so liu kang might be back, and as for cage, it seems that he'd remain there...

I liked Cage in the beginning, but I honestly am getting bored of his story - I died, I come back to live, fight, go back to the other side, come back, ect. Liu was a pretty cool character. I'll always miss his turkey calls when he did his moves...

Also, if you think about it, Cage is nothing like the other humans. Raiden I think is Cage's closet Ally In Mortal Kombat, Also you can't brand cage, he's not in a clan, nor any group he's a basic Martial Arts fighter who's on the side of good, that's what I like about him.

Yeah, I see what you're saying. It did seem like Raiden was Cage's closest ally. He rarely had connections with any of the other fighters such as Liu or Sonya.

I always thought it would be funny if Johnny turned out to be Raiden's son.
