if you're refering to me, the 2nd Sub-Zero is my favorite characters.

Jade, Smoke, and Ermac are cool. Not classic though.

We all know that MK2 was the end of iconic characters,MK3 was crap,and most of the new characters following were useless. Consider the petition signed.

I think in terms of Iconic.. they should just use the mk1/mk2 characters.



but if they want cool characters, there are a few people from later games that I think are worth bringing back

MK1-MK2 had 99.6% of the best characters and oviously the most iconic.
It's very unlikely that MK VS DC will include new characters from MK3+

That's far from true, MK1 and MK2 had great characters but MK 3 and MK4 had a few of the best as well. Kabal, Ermac, Quan whether people want to admit it or not are among MK's most well known characters over the years and have had a huge impact on the storyline at different points in time.

If I wanted I could go thru the MK 2 characters that have been the same for years with lack of expanding character potential, let's see here Sonya, Jax and Cage? All boring and have done the same shit for years...especially Jax, Cage is just IMO a pointless character ever since MK1 I've felt this way. I mean just now in MKA has he had "visions" and fought Shinnok....seriously though before that, what's his importance? lol

Yeah I guess your right. I completly forgot about Ermac. Quan Chi was fine. Can't say I'm a big fan of Kabal but he was original at the least. But I still say most of the best were in MK1-MK2.And Sonya wasn't in MK2 lol.

Kenshi would be in before Ermac simply because if Ermac was in there would be too many Ninja types. I like Ermac. But not more than Kenshi. I know Im wierd I guess, it just seems like the majority like ermac over Kenshi.

May I remind you that the only real ninjas in MK are Scorpion and Noob Saibot.

Ermac actually is very ninja-isk given his training he gave Kenshi for Kenshi freeing him from Kahn's control. If you guys remember MKD hehe

The MK team also even said that when revamping him, they wanted to give Ermac that "ninja master" look/approach. It's in the extras of concepts in MKD.

I TOTALLY disagree with the main topic. There are iconic characters after MK: 2. I don't know why some people thought that MK3 sucks (and some of the games after it) . I like tons of characters from every game.

If we're only getting 10 or 11 MK characters in this game, I doubt there will be many slots left for MK3ers and on

there are many Iconic characters out of the 64 (I count Monster), but the ones that are the most Iconic are clearly the ones from MK1&2

MK1: All 10 characters are Icons

MK2: again all are Icons except maybe Jade and Kintaro

MK3/UMK3/MKT: was pretty hit or miss, about a 50/50 mix

MK4/MKG: time has really treated these characters well, they used to be reviled but now alot of people like them...except Jarek....and Meat

MKDA/MKTE: acouple standouts like Kenshi and Li Mei, but alot of characters that need to prove there mettle (Nitara, Mavado, Sareena)

MKD: was pretty bad newbie wise, only Havik and Hotaru really seemed to gel with everyone maybe Ashrah

MKA: was pathetic Taven and Daegon were D-U-L-L

I imagine we'll get more or less the same set of returning characters as MKDA had with mostly MK1&2 characters, maybe 1 from 3, 1 from 4, and one or two from DA/D/A

Why do MK fans have such a habit of looking at the past rather then the future??? Sure the old MK's were classic's but nostalgia has a funny way of making things look better then they were.

I will admit with the exception of a few characters who were cool (Kenshi and Bo Rai for example,) there were allot of stinkers who were just plain unneeded, but with each new game the characters we know and love changed and evolved not to mention every once in a while a new character was pretty cool. We wouldn't have the awesome evolved versions of Sub Zero, Scorpion, Reptile, ect we have today without the new games.

However, characters like Sonya, Jax, and Cage, if not for the fact they were part of the first crew, don't really have much going for them. Their about as cliche as you can get. The cocky jock w/ glasses, the way to cliche black guy "awwww yeah," and the lame blonde whose about a 2 dimensional as you can get. I think Armeggedon did a good job in demonstraiting why characters like Kano and Sonya need to go the kyript. So there is a balance you must find between keeping MK like the classic MK world we know and love while at the same time moving it foward.

From MK3 - Sindel and the cyborgs were the only cool new characters for me.

MK4- None of them. I think MK4 had the worst set of new characters in MK history. Quan Chi has become important, but his design and everything sucks. It's stupid just like Shinnok with his rainbow clown crap.

MK5 - Tons of cool new characters. Frost, Nitara, and Kenshi. Even Li Mei and Drahmin I thought were quite interesting.

MK6 - Only Kira and Havik. They rest were as boring as the MK4 ones.

MK7 - None. Taven and Daegon were both bland imo.
