I don't know.. I wouldn't bet anything on MK6 being canceled for the cube until this site reports it and confirms it to be true.

yes but you can also buy controller adaptors for 5 bucks on ebay that allow gamecube and xbox owners to use playstation controllers. face it, the ps2 has absolutely no advantage at all when it comes to mortal kombat. it's an inferior system. now that it's only coming out for two systems and they can spend more time with the xbox hardware, the xbox version is going to rape the ps2 version in everyway possible. not opinion. fact.

Nintendo really needs to start rethinking a few of their decisions. Their system needs to draw a larger audience or they might be looking at loss of contracts, the same problem which led to Sega not making another console.

Far as system stats, the Xbox having more power does not necessarily mean it is going to produce better games. Game developers have a lot to do with that. Look at FF6.

it's going to produce better multi-console games. mkda, with hardly any improvements from the other systems, was much much superior to the the other versions. the load times, the better resolution, sound, everything. the mk team will finally take advantage of the xbox hardware for mkd unlike mkda. that means it WILL be the better game between the two systems.

All n all, I'm a PS2 fan over the other two systems, that's just me. With the more time they'll have with 6, puttin it on only xbox n ps2, I think both systems will f*kn rock. I mean don't get me wrong, xbox is really sic but i dunno, I'm sure 6 will be awesome on both systems.

Reds' right. i wasn't trying to start a console war. i was merely being truthful. Nintendo shot themselves in the foot when they didn't make Gamecube online-compatible. however, i digress. i love Nintendo. Mario is forever. i just picture them someday in Sega's position, that's all.

This petition will not change Midways stance at all. The reason that the next MK isn't going to the GC has nothing do with some obscure policy on violence on Nintendo's part, the simple fact is that Midway is a sinking ship right now financely and they simply do not have the resources are the capital to support a system which will not see a healthy return for them. They need to recoup as much money as they can, and supporting the systems that bring them the most capital back is the easy and intelligent way to do that. Instead of being pissed about it, you should be happy there even going this far with making a XBOX version because the smartest thing for them to do would be to make it a PS2 exclusive because of its larger installed base(I am a XBOX owner so this would suck big time), that would guarantee that they made a good profit.

At 50 bucks a game, they would only need to sale at least 100,000 units to make enough profits to cover the development cost at least 150,000 to make enough for the advertising they would have to do in Nintendo Power like they did with MK:DA. That number wouldn't be very hard to reach espically when the Gamecube version MK:DA sold 140,000 in just months after its release.

But if the petition will be big enough they will probably make it.

the fact nintendo baught resident evil exclusively for gc should make any comments about violence moot. midway feels gc is not a profitable system for them. midway is not doing too well in the money area and they are looking for cost-cutting measures. i think blaming one console for their craptastic release list is silly to say the least. and as for the dying system diatribe...soul calibur 2 sold the most on gc despite the fact ps2 has a far larger installed user base. obviously fighters sell fine on gc. sc2 may have no blood but it is quite violent. personally i think people should relax and wait cuz odds are midway will bring it to all systems.

nintendo did not make the decision, midway did. you really need to start re-thinking your posts before you post them. midway chose to pull all gc support for the time being which, again, was a decision nintendo did not make for them.

I can't remember the exact figure, but even if DA only sold around 250,000 copies on the GameCube, thats still 250,000 copies they won't sell now they've decided not to release MK6 on the system.

The fact of the matter is that Team MK simply cannot make the game up to their standards with the GameCube. While we can hear everything in the world about better graphics, control schematics, violence, etc.; the truth is that Team MK wants MKDe to be online capable. Since GameCube does not have online support, GameCube will not have MKDe. It is almost the equal to telling an artist that he can paint a red picture, but he is not allowed to use the color red. It just does not happen. Team MK knows that any version of MKDe that is released on GameCube will simply pale in comparison to the X-Box and PS2 version because it will not feature online elements. Hence, they are making a wise creative and business decision to concentrate on making the game as powerful for those two systems, rather than exerting extra energy into a game that will not be up to snuff.
