With all the Dragon King hype I thought these should be mentioned. I found these whilst looking up some vampire information.

Aluga(Aluka) - A name for a vampire or bloodsucking demon (meaning 'horse-leech') derived from the Proverbs (30:15), translated into the Latin sanguisuga(bloodsucker). The aluga was probably similar to the Arabian algul (or ghoul) but was considered by some sources to be a formidable blood demon, possibly even the demon king of the vampires.

Vampire Gods: Dreadful deities of merciless bloodthirstiness, beings that possess distinctly vampiric characteristics. Like death itself, the vampire god is found in the earliest, blackest and most dreadful memories of humanity.

Shao Kahn, if they bring him back, would probably be the most formidable threat.

That is good info Tgrant. Very interesting.

However, I the only threats I can think are the warriors of light. Or maybe the lack of allies.

But who knows? Vampires might serve the king, so might Onis, his army, etc. I can only think of the forces of light.

Possible threat of the Dragon King....a much larger threat than Shao Kahn. Not to mention his undefeatable army. I think people forgot about them, what if the Dragon King can ressurect them?
I'm sorry, should've read the title more clearly. 'Possible threats TO the Dragon King' not 'of.'

I doubt they'll put a vampire king in the game. It would take attention away from the Dragon King. I don't thinkt he vampires will have anything to do with the Dk as they're a seperate race entirely and seem to be very independent.

I guess that Kahn and these forces of light will be the DK's main adversaries. However, Kahn may be too weak to fight himself. So it'll be up to the Earth warriors to defeat him.

Shao Kahn
Vampire People
Deadly Alliance, if they are around
Raiden
Kung Lao
Sub-zero
Scorpion
Kenshi
Ermac
Noob?? -maybe something to do with shinnok

Really there are tons of possible threats, which is probbly why they picked the title they did, alot of plot twists would be sweet.

The Vampire race to me is a wild card in the scenario. Not much is know of them and thier realm. They could be neutral.

We really don't know about the origins of the Dragon King. It might be possible to know who may threaten him by knowing about his history. Rayden being the walking dictionary of ancient knowledge may provide some insight on him. Perhaps Shao Khan knows as well. It would be interesting if Khan were to oppose the Dragon King himself. It's ture that his is weak, but one can also say that Khan is desperate too.

What's also interesting is who would side with the Dragon King? It's unlikely that either Shang Tsung or Quan Chi would join with him. It's probable that if both of them see the Dragon King as a threat to their own intentions then, we'd have to assume that Tsung And Quan Chi would be likely cadidates to oppose the Dragon King as of now.

It's logical that the Shokan race could pose a threat since they are now alied with Kitana's people. Perhaps a new Shokan warrior is a new character in MKD!

Of course since Sub Zero is the leader of the Lin Kuei we have to guess that they will oppose the Dragon King. Maybe there be more than just one or two represenatives from the Lin Kuei in the new tournament. Of course now that the Red Dragon Clan has risen, they may give the Lin Kuei problems.

Hmmmm.....

There are many threats that the Dragon King will face. The mortal warriors of multiple realms. At least one diety, perhaps more. His own minons may come to deceive him. There may also be others we have not heard of yet, who do not like the idea of a dragon king.

The vampires may want Earth as a source of food. And I think Shnag or Quan could join the Dragon King as a rouse to show their loyalty and then turn on him.

I get you now queve. I doubt that greatly! Vampires are not the kind of creatures to take orders from creatures that are not their own kind! Regardless of their status.
