In the story mode, it will most likely be MKvsDC. But in online it can be either.

I think he is referring to the story, not just gameplay wise considering its pretty obvious all characters can fight all characters.

Hopefully, story wise, MK characters still retain their rivalries or war against other Mk characters.

It would kind of feel silly to see ALL Mk characters forgetting about their rivalries to fight against the "new evil": DC heroes/villains, considering the MK villains are also looking to “destroy worlds and kill”.

will Shang still want to fight Liu Kang (if hes not already dead)

That ended in MK4 (technically MK2 if it weren't for a slight misunderstanding). Scorpion's current enemy is Quan Chi.

Hopefully, because it still mantains the essense of the mk story.
