Thanks to the incredible detail PSM has brought to the table, it is safe to say that many new questions have arised. For those of you who have it, page 58 shows a picture of the "sky temple" which is a multilayered outdoor complex. This stage gives players the ability to thrash opponents off of the many stories of the stage, so that fighting continues down below. I'd like to see some of the rag doll physics (like that of max payne 2) in these kind of areas, in particular --> One of the pictures in the magazine portrays ermac falling down a level/story with his feet about to hit the rooftop over hang... this would put him in a helicopter spin as he tumbled down to the stage below. (For those who played max payne 2, your enemies (when shot with a bigger gun) would be blown into the air, and if they went over a railing or something and plumeted to their death, if they hit an obstacle on the way down it would put them in helicopter spins...this effect looked AWESOME!!!

If you have watched the DVD bonuses of DA; in one of the videos (history of mk i think) the programmers talk about the new obstacles they overcame while working with a 3-d scale; in particular they talked about making the characters react to blows and hits in regards to how the human body would naturally react (neck bones, whiplash, etc...)

with new totally interactive stages, i hope that they incorporate rag doll physics into them to complete the effect, as opposed to cut scenes or something similar.

Good post.Rag Doll physics would look cool in MKD.For example if The Dragon King throws you after "Finish Him/Her" your body could be curled up into a pretzel almost.

It would be a good Idea for Konquest too. They say there going to make Konquest like the free roaming in GTA it would be gory if your walking the streets of Outworld then you see a dead mortal with his legs and arms twisted.

yeah, good ideas too!! i think that was one of the little things missing in DA (although they did have it, but not so noticeable). If they programmed the joints of characters (neck, knees, elbows and waist) to move realistically according to body blows and other circumstances like being thrown or put through a wall, that would be sick.

There was rag doll physics in tomb raider the angel of darkness, enemies and even lara herself would die in the most unusual (and sometimes provocative) positions wink

Although it was very comical, it was a good effect and it would look cool in MK: D smile

I don't really want to see ragdoll physics. I would like to see exagerated reactions but not to the extreme of rag doll. It would be funny to see them in certain fatalities though.

Yup would be cool to see once a character is knocked out, but you can't use it when they're not- i'd like to see some some compromise between pre determined animation and simulated movement for the actual gameplay- like blended animations or something, so when you hit people they actually react more as if you've hit them on that part of the body.
