No, it's pretty clear in my mind this 'll be Mortal Kombat vs Primal Rage. there's even been animal clues on the site.

I really don't want a crossover game though. I want a new, serious MK like they said. Crossovers seem too... er... frivolous I guess.

I understand this is speculations, but regardless, mk games are going to continue to sell without being crossovers. midway would be STUPID to do a crossover as a mainstream title labelled "mk8" like its been shown as.

If its MK8, then its taking place in a chain ov CANON events most likely. and by most likely i mean 99% most likely.What kind of game would be mk1-7 in mk universe then "mk8, mk vs primal rage". are they to return to mk after that? tehs tory would be fu**ed up. for them to introduce another set of plots and developmental entities is simply giving us reason to believe boon has lost it and does acid while dancing with the original goro model.

until there is solid proof of a crossover aka Boon:"this game is a crossover between mk and _______" then im politely asking, for the benefit of these forums. Do not assume or spread word or even possability of a crossover as there in nothing pointing towards this at all!!!!! open your eyes.

IN no way is this RAGE thing trying to hint that this game will tie with Primal Rage.
We all know that Rage has some ties with MK ( and I mean the emotion !)
think about it; it could be part of a tag line in a trailer ,a feature in the game or even part of the sub title. Stop assuming this game is going to be a damn GOOF.

Sure every corporation works for money. But is that really the ONLY thing they're working for? No. The tobacco industry might be the only thing working only for money, but I know that Midway works for other reasons than money. Making games, making other products. It's called common sense. Something you have a problem understanding. I know people who work at the top of some corporations, and they said that the owners don't work only for money. Its to, "To help clense the earth and help it grow to a new future." Though, that is the lamest explination I've heard, but still, money isn't always the answer, smart guy.

Maybe not, but that seems like a pretty clear combination to me. The only other thing I can think of is that it's a signal of which characters are back and there'll be some kind of "rage" mode.

Rage, it could pertain to a lot of things.....

1) A new mode.
2) A new feature during kombat.
3) Referring to returning characters (Kabal/Noob/Reptile/Rain)?
4) Hinting a new character? Rage spelled backwards= Egar. From Africa?
5) Since two of the animals have numbers under them, I don't know now. Those two words are, Free/Klose. But they are at each end, so we still have to wait 'til the two other animals get their numbers to find out the puzzle with free and klose.

The moon signifies a bumality...they do a brown-eye (moon) at the losing opponent! but you can only pull this off if you don't use block, and must hold the low-punch button in the entire final round, while not jumping at all and winning with a double-flawless victory.

When you do this with SubZero you unlock Blizzard from PR, this is due to the freezing comparisons.
If you use Scorpion you unlock Diablo with the fire breathing.
Bo Rai Cho unlocks Chaos who has the Power Puke
Raiden is the God of Thunder, he unlocks Sauron who is the God of Hunger
Lui Kang unlocks Armadon because he's fn boring!

Mortal Kombat : Ice Rage ??

This game will not be a crossover,however it will feature characters from another series.
Pinch of salt time until its confirmed but from my sources say we will have a few characters from the unreal universe.
Think about it Malcom and the skarrj in an mk game.
The game runs on the unreal engine and MK characters have been in unreal games in the past namely Unreal Championship 2 on the xbox.
Ive also got some unconfirmed news of platform exclusive characters aka soul calibur style. Remember rage mode was in Unreal as well. Unreal and MK blend real nice both are violent and gory. Epic have worked very closely with midway to help them with the U3 engine. Dont forget that midway even published UT3 on ps3 for epic.

Personally i would hate any idea with a crossover as any sort. If there will be unreal characters then they better be like Mokap and Blaze. Just extra unlockable characters. Tying them into the story will just ruin it for me.

Rage is a gameplay mode that gives a character more power if their health gets very low, at least that's how it is in tekken 6.

i think i remember a game comming out with some kind of engine called Rage which might be what mk8 is going to run on the rage engine? i dont know
