OMFG it's not that difficult. He has a Deception bio -- it's on IGN. He has a character model. He is IN the game, and he is obviously thus very alive and very not dead.

Fujin could very well be in there as protector. From Sindels bio we can assume the lady in green we saw was in fact Jade. So since Fujin was also in a cell, maybe he too is playable. Personally, I believe Raiden to be alive, but he won't ahve the power to be protector. Maybe Earth will be less well protected this time around.

Hmmmmm... I thought Fujin was the offical Protector of Earthrealm since MK4. Raiden never took that job back and was only the God of Thunder in MK:DA. So even IF he dies, Fujin is still the protector. And if Fujin is a prisoner then Earth is in some serious trouble because there is no other gods on Earth since Shinoks forces destroyed them. Only Fujin and Raiden of all the gods of Earthrealm survived. Unless we start importing some new gods or Kidd Thunder grows up (joke) there are no other immortals to protect Earthrealm.

If Raiden is really dead but I doubt it. And with Fujin imprisoned then I think Sub-Zero will be the next protector of Earthrealm. Like Raiden says in Sub’s MKDA ending “With Sub-Zero now the Grand Master of the Lin Kuei, Earthrealm will be well protected”.

I don't think he is dead. I think he will still be protector of Earthrealm but he isn't as powerful so he needs more help enter Nightwolf. Since Fujin is locked up.

But Sub-Zero is not a god. He is one of the chosen and perhaps the next 'Champion of Mortal Kombat' but can not be the immortal Sworn Protector of Earthrealm. (Unless the Elder Gods give him godhood, which I don't see happening.)
