Hmmm.
So, Raiden and most of the greatest fighters in history get their asses kicked by the Deadly Alliance (probably mostly by Shang Tsung, unquestionably the greatest baddie ever, while that little bitch Quan Chi saved his strength on the sidelines). Evil has triumphed, general screams of 'oh shit' are heard throughout the realms.
But then Onaga turns up, sporting his slinky new Reptile outfit. Raiden manages to kill the two most deadly threats in the realms and make himself more badass in the process. Onaga is relatively easily beaten (c'mon, you wouldn't see Shao Kahn having to rely on the Kamidogu now, would you?) by Shujinko. Shujinko has replaced a really bad threat with a not-so bad threat and taken care of it. He's a hero, dammit! So what does Raiden do?
Give him a pat on the back?
Make him the true Champion of the Elder Gods?
Brutally kill him?
Oh, the third one. Hmm. Raiden's sense of gratitude is perhaps a little skewed. I don't see Raiden stepping up against Onaga!
Just a thought.

Depends.
If Raiden beats Onaga, he kills Sujinko.

U shud put "spoiler" in your post.
How is it harsh? If Raidens ending does in fact happen, its a step in the right direction.
Raiden has become tired of the constant threats 2 Earthrealm, and this new attitude of his is a breath of fresh air if you ask me.
People are sayin hes evil now, he isnt. He's just taking a stand.
Shujinko is nothing, he wont be comin back for another game I dont think. He has no replay value IMO.

Raiden was/is a bit harsh but Shujinko didn't just put the Earth in danger, he endangered the entire universe because he wanted to have an adventure.
Onaga was a bigger threat than Kahn any day. You say Kahn wouldn't have needed the Kamidogu? Kahn didn't use the Kamidogu and look what happened to him. He got his ass kicked one on one with Kang not once but twice, and then died at the hands of the DA. Don't forget, DK was watching from beyond death and so he knew what he was up against and took the best course of action.
to tell you the truth I'm not so sure that Shujinko rectified his mistake anyway. I'm not a scorpion fan-boy but jinko himself said that Scorpion was the only one who could defeat the Dragon King. But it would be cool if Jinko won cause that would potentially set a lot more into motion.

I strongly oppose that Shujinko has no value. he's the step towards the better. We're tired of seeing Liu Kang and other so called "younger" fighters win. It is just stereotypical. Sure Jinko could have been more original, but we can't place gamehandling and moves as a primary point where it comes to decide who is an original character. Look at Kenshi-original still Ermac is the primary telekineticist. it also makes sense since Ermac trained him.
Jinko could be opposed by Raiden, but he's a much needed step towards
keeping MK's originality in line.
Shujinko is a 7/10 and that makes him probably one of the best MK has to offer.

No - In Raiden's ending, it specifically says that it was Shujinko who killed Onaga. "That Shujinko undid his mistake and destroyed the Dragon King is of no importance."

Shud Shujinko be killed off in the events leadin upto MK7..I dont think there will be many complaints.
How many of you whine that Kira has Kano/Sonyas moves?
How many of you whine about kombatants not havin individuality?
Shujinko's purpose in the MK universe was : KONQUEST MODE.
He isnt needed anymore, hes an old man who I dont think can go anywhere. I mean, where CAN he go? Hes the reason Onaga came back, and thats about it.
He will be used as a stepping stone for Raidens development. He WILL die at the hands of the Thunder God.

But becouse of his originality I would certainly wish for his survival. And when Raiden leaves the leadership (the others would surely not accept his explanation for killing Shujinko) or gets resigned by the other earthrealm warriors, they will become leaderless. maybe Bo' Rai Cho can lead them, but he is far too off-the-hook to be considered as a charismatic leader. Shujinko on the other hand has a certain appearance and aura of leadership. (except for the " am Shujinko"phenomenon in Konquest)

I don't think the eathrealm warriors are pawns that always need a leader I mean raiden was they're mentor, etc etc, but if raiden's endings gets to mk7, they won't accept that raiden killed shujinko, so they'll follow they're separate ways or they'll unite against a future threat
Exactly, they aren't sheep or somesuch. Imagine who has put the most
faith in Raiden? Earthrealms warriors. Now i don't think that Sonya or Jax
could or will confront him, but more possible is that Kung lao will or
should face off against him. Bo Rai Cho is also a good choice. -if not
Shujinko.
Sub-Zero is busym he has the red Dragon, the Tarkatans and others to
deal with.
BTW, is Liu Kang realy among the living again? Why can't I hire a sniper to
kill someone in Midway for this?

It wasn't the Deadly Alliance who beat the Earthrealm warriors...they never even confronted them. The warriors were ambushed and killed by the Tarkatan warriors.
I think Raiden's new stand on things is necessary. The Earth warriors are becoming a little too lax. Liu Kang was murdered, Shujinko's arrogance and carelessness allowed the return of the Dragon King, which is the greatest threat to all the realms. Sub-Zero(Noob) stole the map and the amulet and gave it to Quan Chi, which was also a factor in this mess. Raiden is just getting tired of mortals and their foolishness. They need a leader. If the leader has to be feared, then he will be a feared leader. This new and improved Raiden may push things in the right direction.
However, I forsee a conflict between Raiden and one of the other good characters, possibly Fujin, Liu, Scorpion or Sub arising in the near future.

SHUJINKO'S PURPOSE AND IMPORTANCE:
Altough Shujinko indeed was arrogant and he only realized the calamity he coused when all creation was in grave danger, he managed to get the worlds rid of Onaga for the time of being (I don't think that Onaga is beaten and gone so easily, he should come back). untill then he didn't realize the whole issue.
Wasting his whole life for this, well, this desperately grieved him and he managed to get things right. And Raiden comes to kill him off. What would Shujinko think of the very same god that stood on his side from the begin-ning-at least in objectives of fighting evil and darkness and stuff.
Shujinkos life would be meaningless if he dies, tragic if you consider the facts that he never got to live a peacefull life/ertirement. This is why the dead should stay dead and Shujinko at least, should survive at least for MK7. He is the only one who could actually contest Raiden. Who else? Sub-Zero probably, but he has to fend off the Red Dragon, the remnants of the Brotherhood of Shadows, and Scorpion remains an enigma event to the Lin Kuei. Kung Lao?-no, he became far too emotional since Liu Kangs death, not to mention he's recovering from death. Sonya, Jax, doesn't have the chance against him. Bo' Rai Cho-far too wise to confront the thunder god directly. He's not a front fighter, so he seeks a possible way to restore raiden or someone to oppose him. Cage-is this really an option? Scorpion-yes, the Elder gods could send him after the renegade god, since Raiden opposed them severely, and poses a liability to their rule.
Shujinko or Scorpion. I have a suspicion: since Shujinko is the only one who became something like Scorpions ally in a way, they share a bond.
In storyline. This is not a coincidence, so we may see a Scorpion/Shujinko team-up storyline.
RAIDEN RELATED TURN OF EVENTS:
Well, I think raidens turn was one of the greatest turn of events in MK his-tory. What about the earthrealm warriors relationship toward him?
Well, if Raiden want a steady and organized -seemingly dictatoric and draconic-position as leader, he uses the invokation of fear for obedience.
This is the very line that leads to dictatory rule! (Lenin, than succeeded by Josif Stalin). no one can build strong rule on fear.
lets's see, the earthrealm warriors won't react very positively on this. I think they even reannounce obedience toward him or even his leadership right.
Raiden of course, if we follow hios logic, will have to terminate all liabilities (does Shujinkos fate ring a bell?) and there we go: raiden turning on his very allies. Since he became even more emotional, he's actions may be very drastic.

The Raiden ending is a bit harsh but understandable. He's seriously pissed about the stupidity and carelessness (sp?) of the human race. (sometimes so am I) However, I'm just hoping its one of those 'endings that never really happened' like most of Raiden's endings.
One other thing.....Remember it was said that Shao Kahn was once much like Raiden; mentor, advisor, etc. What if Raiden is starting to turn into another Shao Kahn? Its relatively easy to do 'harsh' or cruel things in the name of a greater good, but eventually the greater good fades away and all you have a brutal dictator willing/able to do anything. This is one thing I hope the guys of Midway never consider, I would just give up on Mortal Kombat and stick to my rpgs.

After seeing Ermac's ending saying how there is an evil present in outworld, i don't think Raiden will kill him off yet. During and after DA, they needed every person they can get. Unless Shujinko really was a threat or something along that line, i can somewhat see that Raiden may see redemption.
Raiden only does whats best for the realms.

Ermac was detecting the presence of The One Being, who was acting through Onaga, and formerly Shao Kahn. He may have been sensing Kahn's or Onaga's resurrection, because I don't think Onaga can be killed so easily, and from Havik's ending, it looks like Kahn may be making a triumphant return.
Even so, I'm sure Raiden wouldn't be allowed by the Earth warriors to kill shujinko...I think they would intervene on his behalf.
Exactly, and I doubt that Raiden could kill Shujinko so easily off. I mean, the guy has just absorbed almost every warriors power. If he did in fact deliver that power to defeat Onaga, still, Rayden could be cautious with the elderly man, or he was simply overestimating himself.
Two possible endings:
-Raiden kills Shujinko in a fight.
-Raiden is DEFEATED by Shujinko, or cant overcome him.
I go with the second, since it would balance Raiden on the brink of good and evil.
