Hey, its better than getting killed in the Intro, since not all endings are true endings. He already 'died' once in Shinnok's ending in MK4.

Perhaps he does "die" in the intro of the game but is then "resurrected"... Gods can't die, you know ;). Perhaps "dying" is, in his case, some sort of temporary disturbance or disabling before he gathers is energy again and exists in a human form?

That’s what I’m thinking. It would make sense. Please the Raiden fans by making him playable and then kill him in the end instead.

I’d forgotten about that ending and they could very well not use the MKD ending. It could be just another false one this time, although that could be to easy to see coming and so they could make it official that he does actually die.

Good point you made there VainQueur. I like the idea of the temporary disabling. Maybe if he does die, he could come back with even more powers.

Actually I think it would be interesting if..

A. Raiden was killed but comes back evil, I have no ideal story to explain this but still an idea none the less.

B. Now that Liu Kang is coming back it would nice if Liu Kang was evil and was the one that killed Raiden. (I know people have been talking about evil Kang for months, I've been waiting for about 4 years for an evil Kang and never got it).

Personally I would not like Raiden to die, if they take him out of the game, thats cool...but don't kill him.

well if u ask me i feel that raiden should be in every mk game!! along w/ subby and scorpion..of course u know i cant leave kitana out of that group.... mk3/umk3 just were not good w/o raiden..i hope they never make that mistake again..

Next game they should just bring everything that was in any mortal kombat game into that game. Just so we can play as everyone...somehow I see that never happening.

An evil Liu Kang killing Raiden would be a good storyline twist. Maybe the DK sees him as the only one that is up to the task and so tells him to kill Raiden. Nice idea dude.

I feel the same way too, dude! Raiden should be in every game! Out of all the characters, he is the one who should be.

Well it has been rumered that most of the cast from MKDA will be in as playable hidden characters without actual storylines in the game...perhaps it's just that? Maybe Raiden will be playable as a hidden character, but it doesn't change the teams plans for him in the opening movie? I don't know just a thought.

I've heard that rumour too. If it is that, then he probably won't have much of a story for the game at all. Although it would seem silly to kill him and then make him playable in the same game.

that is pretty interesting since i hear that only the opening 24 r the only 1,s getting a fmv...it would be funny beating the dk w/ kitana and also having her in the background chained up..now that would be funny!!!

Silly maybe, but if he's dead, and his playable character will have no effect on the actual story of the game what so ever because he's a hidden character that has to be unlocked...then it's possible. I for one really hope that rumor is true, because then Sonya would probably be in, and personally I wouldn't care if she didn't have a story in the game, just so long as she's there and playable with all of her classic moves, I would be a VERY happy man.

I know you'd be happy, but even so, I'd prefer the characters to have a story otherwise it just makes it seem pointless that they're there. Although, I guess I'd be happy too! lol

Perhaps they are only putting these characters in, because they have read SOOO many people complaining about their absense, so they are adding them just so that the people will at least be able to play as their favorite character, Seriously story is nice, but it's not the most important thing for me....I'd just be extremely happy to play as Sonya, Raiden, and possibly Kitana as hidden characters...then when MK7 rolls around they can have their stories and involvments returned to them. But for the chance to play as Sonya in Deception, I wouldn't care if her story was she was fighting to become a nun. If that is the reason why then I'm happy because they are in there. Although I wouldn't put the worthless ones in. But I would still like to see a story. Even if it is a short one.

I'm surprise that Raiden is coming back, since Ashrah have moves very similar to him(torpedo, lighting bolt, somekind of an electric aura shield) and Nightwolf have a lighting bolt.

Maybe he could die in his ending, I hope not he is a major character in the serie, then they would bring him back to life like they did with Liu and it would be stupid IMO

Where is it written or shown that Ashrah has theses moves? I'd admit I haven't seen very many of the trailers but I have yet to see her do a torpedo or any electric attacks. I seen pictures of her on the tower in the lighting storm but that was just the background.

She does have a move that's similar to the torpedo except she spins around as she flys towards her opponent, and correct me if I'm wrong but she doesn't hit with her hands but with her head lol.

Her second move is similar to Kung Lao's spin but it's basically a vertical and stationary version of her "torpedo" move.

And her energy attack doesn't look like electricity to me, it just looks like white energy.

That's interesting. I've seen Ashrahs spin but none of the other two attacks. I'd heard that she had a move similar to the torpedo. As long as it isn't the torpedo itself, then I'm cool with it.

So its kinda of a cross between Rayden's torpedo and Fujin's spinning motion? ...... Gotta get some coffee and take a break from my MK:C fanfic....

Yeah, and her energy attack is basically Kai's from MK4. She fires an energy ball up off towards the top of the screen and it shoots straight down a few meters in front of her.

Yay! Finally got to see that video of her fighting..I do admit that she does have a torpedo like move, but I think her energy is not lighting but 'holy' energy (I guess you could call it that). That would make sense if she's hunting demons. To be honest to me she looks like a female cross between Raiden and Fujin with dark hair and half-way normal eyes. It still looks like there is a connection between her and the thunderer....student, daughter or perhaps even sister? I can't wait to hear her story! I just hope she's not another mystery girl like Frost!

I don't think it's lighting either, It looks more like she has power over light. However, I think she might still have some kind of ties to Raiden...just not sure what. Perhaps a distant relative of his? Or like you suggested a pupil?
