I was thinking, mabye the Deadly Alliance sprung a surprize attack on Raiden and left him severely injured and Raiden only had enough energy to transport himself to outworld and not the other earthrealm fighters. He could have a worn out costume as his primary.Mabye it could be his samurai outfit from MK:DA but with torn cloth, bloody scars and bruises all over his body.He would look BADASS.

From what I could tell, I don't think they ever intended to use that intro. I'm sure it was just a test demo which they toyed with for a while. I don't think they would risk killing Raiden, just as they wouldn't kill Sub or Scorp.

Hey, he's old enough and easy on the eyes wink

As for the dying intro, they could have originally planned to have him killed but changed their mind after going over the story more, decided the game needed more characters so decided to bring back one that was already finished from MKDA, or after hearing the outrage of us Rayden fans. Whatever the reason was, I'm not complaining.

I'm not complaining either.

Ashrah being a relative of some sort is a valid theory. You've mentioned it before and it would be interesting if that were the case.

Well it has been rumered that most of the cast from MKDA will be in as playable hidden characters without actual storylines in the game...perhaps it's just that? Maybe Raiden will be playable as a hidden character, but it doesn't change the teams plans for him in the opening movie? I don't know just a thought.

I've heard that rumour too. If it is that, then he probably won't have much of a story for the game at all. Although it would seem silly to kill him and then make him playable in the same game.

Very true.

I only hope he is still alive! Ray is too good to be left behind! Even if he is dead and still playable it would kind a suck since he is important to the storyline.

Once I thought killing Rayden was going to be an amazing twist, but I thought wrong. Ray must stay alive!

Raiden ust stay alive. His importance to the story should keep him that way for a long time.

Rayden must live! Who else will lead earth's warriors? Don't tell me Fujin, because they don't know him and he is really a newbie when it comes to the Protector or Earthrealm bit.

Besides, what will happen to poor Kidd if Rayden dies. sad

That he must! I dislike the idea of Fujin leading Earths mortals. As much as I like the god of wind, your right in the fact that the mortals don't know him. Plus we as the players don't know that much about him either.

I love your new sig! Kidd Thunder looks lost without his Unca Raiden! lol

I think Raiden dying would add aninteresting twist into the storyline, especially if Liu Kang does it(or Raiden becomes evil), the warriors who want the preservation of Earth and Edenia(or whereever) will have to look somewhere else for leadership or guidance. I think Fujin might be able to, but I think a duo between him and maybe someone else they trust.
But who will there be to trust this new leader. Sub-Zero, Bo Rai' Cho, Sindel, Smoke(maybe), possibly Scorpion if they have something he wants(like a chance to see his wife and child for a last time), (sigh) Jax, because really the first line of fighters are gone in MKD(KAng, CAge, Sonya, Kung Lao, Kitana, Goro) ok Nightwolf is in there too, so there is a new group of lead good guys for the most part and lot of old bad guys leading the pack(Baraka and Mileena) led by the most powerful adversary ever(most likely) The Dragon King... the storyline itself so far is going to be pretty interesting with second stringers fighting for Earth... Raiden's death would add to that. Depending on Lui Kang's allignment in his new forms, he might be Earth's last hope once again... later

But Rayden dieing would just be the same twist we experienced in MK:DA. We already had the champion die 'unexpectantly' and now he's coming back in as a ghost/zombie. Why have almost the exact same story?

I can see an assassination attempt that ended in failure and Rayden get injured and/or seriously pissed. *shiver* Can you imagine an angry Thunder God? But going completely evil, no way. A little darker yes, all the way evil no.

True that might be copying the MKDA storyline a little, but Lui Kang wasn't the big leader... and despite it copying MKDA a little, Raiden was still there in MKDA to lead and give everyone hope... the hope would be decrease much more if the protector of Earth was killed... the injured storyline might be interesting also, maybe his mortal form is damaged badly and he must return to the heavens before his mortal form would be totally regained... for a certain amount of time, therefore bringing the hope of the Earth warriors down quite a bit... making it a darker storyline or with Raiden's injury it gives Earth's warriors more of a reason to destroy the Dragon King, besides the preservation of Earth Realm of course... but I understand you not wanting Raiden to die... if Scorpion were permanently out of the picture I would be seriously angry being he is my favorite character... later
