Although not in my top 5 characters, still warrants a 10/10 for having the best MK1 ending. Yeah, he's gotten stale and his Fatalities are always the same, but c'mon...it's Raiden! There can be only one. :P

Raiden 10/10 cuz hes a f**king GOD of lightning!!!! (thunder is noise Lightning is what he shoots so it was always funny to me thats he is the thunder god) and as for hsu hao i feel sorry for tha guy i give him 5 out of pitty after all he looked like a Gay Nazi Police officer that would say "O.k thir time for your frithking hehehe " which is scary anyway he has a decent fatality so i give him 5/10 so remember kids if a hippie lady touches you simply shout HAND OFF JIVE TURKEY!!! amd beat her senceless (hours later of ranting and advice giving) and that warriors....is where babies come from!!!..... [warriors] WOW!!!! u went from rating raiden to telling us of babies?

is one of the best characters of MK, has great moves fatalities story and now he has turned dark (not evil), he can only get more interesting. He's one of the Gods prepeared to sacrifice his own immortality for those he guards, truly an inspirtation and a man to look up to.

The wise God-guide. He has a sakat and he fights with a long bo-staff. I don't know why, but that image just appeals to me. Christopher Lambert played Raiden in the first MK movie.
The deal is, he's been the wise leader of the good guys for a very, very long time... to be honest, it's gotten stale. Thank heaven that his story got twisted in MKD.

The fact he gets 5 and not 2 is because of his lightning and i think its his torpedo move. Also cos of his dark twist

Raiden is an amazing character with a great storyline, awesome moves and cool Fatalities. Although I think he should become an elder god in MKA, and let Fujin take over.

Not really one of my favorites but nevertheless one of the best

Well, I can't give a 10 because he isn't quite in my top favorite characters.
Can't give a 9 because I don't like where the MK Team has taken him now, although he did need a change.
I want to give an 8 but can't because he's going to play exactly the same as all the other games.
So, I'll give him a 7.5/10

You can't rate a character who's already passed. And watch the stereotypes.

The Pros:
-MKD plot twist without going eeeevillll. Vogel did a perfect job here.
-they prepared him nicely for 3D games. Outgrown his blandness.
-otherwise pretty solid role, if somewhat stale...
-one of the best theatrics in MK.
-a deity (a deity =/= a god)
The cons:
-unoriginal look. Rice harvester, not bad but if you consider hat there has
been shitloads of rice harvester type characters...
-has been stale over 3 games MK3 so-so, but after MK4 and MKDA meh.
-chinese god of thunder with a japanese named worshipped by the shao-
lin ... one of the greatest idiocies in MK if we value cultural reference.
-given too much coverage. Oriental gods are easily defeatable, and they
are NOT FUCKING IMMORTAL or INVINCIBLE.
-unoriginal deity, Lambert gave him some persona. MK Annihilation took it
away.
-blatant ripoff of Lightning.
Verdict: a "favorable" 6/10

He's my fave MK character and has been since the beginning. I just found him all out cool and was awed by his powers and look. He seems to have my overall personality and many have said we are alike in that sense. He's always been fun to use and has good Fatalities. He's just plain awesome and the best MK characetr there is!
I'm not a total fanboy and am aware of his flaws, most notably the sucky story he has had, but he's survived it and seeigng the scores here shows it! Raiden rules all, everyone and everything! Including me!

When i think about MK, the first character that is in my mind is Raiden, i like his story about him turning evil (lightening is a symbol of distruction, not of hapiness).
the only thng that i hate about him is that he s a god, not because he is a god but because a God should be rythlessly strong, and his powers should be absolute, but the game needs to be balanced so that is y raiden isn't that "overpowering"

I can assure you that in eastern myhologz gods are by no means on level with God, Almighty. Hell, some gods are even weaker or dumber than so-me humans. Essentially theese are the mythoi that describe humans outwitting demons and gods.
btw, Raiden in the japanese myth. is a raging and almost mindless de-mon, not a god. The term they use for them is translated to "celestial" or
"deity! (deity =/= a god)
