He is one of my fav characters. I like his look, story, his special moves, and his fatality is even my fav from MKDA! Really every thing about him is pretty kickass. Only downside to him in MKDA is that he wasn't one of the best gameplay wise with his styles. Actually I guess he was one of the worser characters that for some people it was really hard to win while useing him. Well besides him not being one of the better character, every thing else about him is flawless in my eyes. A true fav of mine. Pissed me off Kabal killed him.... that sand ******.....

Mavado is another Character with Potential Greatness even though we don't all see it at the mo.. He scores a 71.8 which is an acceptable score for him..Perhaps if he develops in the future the score could rise..
Anyway moving on today we look at......Liu Kang
The Champion of Mortal Kombat was pretty much in every Mk until they decided to Kill him off in Deadly Alliance.. But as we know nobody ever really dies in Mortal Kombat as he returned as a Flesh Eating Zombie (Well ok not Flesh eating)..
So will the Champion of Mortal Kombat also be the Champion of Rate the Character?.. Ratings from 1 to 10 pwease..

Great Character..
In MK 1 he was no doubt just a Bruce lee wannabe ..It's like an unwritten law in beat em ups... Street Fighter has Fei Long..Tekken has Forest and Marshell law.. World heroes had a lame one..
Anyway Liu developed into his own Character..
I felt it abit unecassary to kill him of in Deadly alliance but nevermind..

Couldn't convince me and thousands of us inMK1 as the hero...never did. Liu Kang is the ultimate stereotype in MK with the STALEST plotlines ever.
He scores the abysmal 1/10 from me..
...well ..heck well, lightyears under Mokap, Meat, Hsu Hao etc, and other MK discards.

I dont think Kung Lao deserves a 1. Sure, his stor ymay be a bit stale, but so is a lot of long time characters(particulary good guys, a great example is Kitana). And think the bladed hat is a nice touch. I would give him a 6, but seeing as Chrome gave him a 1, I'll give Kug Lao a 8

5.5/10 He's always the hero... and it's boring

Hmm... he is ok imo. I hated his uppercut fatality in MK1 and MK2. The Dragon fatality (The animality version looked terrible in MK3/UM3/MKT) is my all time favorite. His storyline is kinda boring, though. 6.5/10

He was one of my top faves and was at his best and most fun in MK4, imo. He's annoying in MKD, but I'll give him a 9.10.

Well hes a boring hero for sure. He was always good game playwise i liked his zombie look other wise hes a bruce lee wanna be. He still is the hero and gets a good rating. 8.4/10

He went from overrated to very underrated... simply because he's the main "hero" doesn't mean he's automatically a bad character people.

Han Salo was always more popular then Luke in Star Wars for example
I give Liu a 7,5/10 because he have been ok in his role until MK4 but now its the time to go on

Thanks to the whole Zombie story in MKD and his death in MKDA, he gets a very well earned 9/10 from me. I love the new Liu Kang.

3/10. Liu Kang as a zombie is ridiculous, lame story and look. He used to be decent, and would've been better off staying dead.

i hate lui kang i praised the video game gods when shang tsung killed him in the opening video of mkda he gets a 2/10 only because i thought he looked ill as a zombie

There is zero tolerance for racial slurs of any kind on this site. Do not do that again.
On topic:
Liu Kang gets a solid 6/10 from me. He was getting stale, but MKD's zombie angle gave him new interest on my part. Damn shame MKSM portrayed him as a bloody idiot, though.

MK1: Indifferent to Liu Kang.
MK2: Liked Liu Kang.
MK3: Didnt like Liu Kang.
MK4: Got Bored of Liu Kang.
MKDA: Glad he died.
MKD: Disappointed he came back, and with his look.
Liu Kang got pretty much progressively worse for me. I'll give him 6/10 though.

He'd be a 10/10 if his spirit form was playable.

Liu Kang is a mad cool character, i liked him since day 1. He fell off in Deception a bit and now everybody is hatin on him. Ima give him a 10. Nuff said.

wasnt it hilarious when he went in to his oponants body and his head popped up, with tanya and sindel and the other female characters, it was like liu kang in drag lol

I used to just flat-out hate Liu Kang. HATE him period. Bland, boring, standrard-issue "good guy," never changed, no internal conflicts, didn't buy him as the hero, and I was furious they associated Kitana with him in any way. When he died in MK:DA, I sang the "Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy" song.
However, when I wrote my Kitana fan fic, the dope actually kind of grew on me a litle bit.
However, while I no longer hate Liu Kang, I still don't necessarily like him either. He's still very dull and beyond stale and I do not like his stupid zombie story at all. I liked what his death brought to Kung Lao and Kitana's stories, but now that he's back, a welcome element of tragedy to Kitana's story is gone and Kung Lao's nuts have been pretty much cut off.
Gameplay-wise I never liked using him until Deception. And except for his Dragon fatality, I always thought his finishers were lame.
All in all, I'm disdainfully indifferent to Liu Kang...but he's overstayed his welcome IMO.

The token Bruce Lee homage. For some reason, it just didn't feel like Mortal Kombat without Liu Kang. But, his storyline was kind of stale. I didn't like his zombie form in MKD.
