it's true
back in the day, fatalities were the only things that made each character different (besides their special moves and sprites)
so i would prefer this new super finisher idea rather than the crappy kreate-a-fatality system from MKA.
anyone agree?

I don't really want to get rid of Fatalities entirely. What I want is that they simply should be more realistic. MK Vs. DC is a step into the right direction IMO. The over-the-top blood is gone, but still there, just more realistic. The same should be done with the Fatalities once they return. No cartoony Fatalities where characters tear people apart like cotton candy.

^ This.
It's about time the MK Team got creative with finishers. If they do it right with the proper use of sound and camera work you can come up with some excellent stuff. Like the Blazing moves in Def Jam FFNY. Most of those moves were insanely brutal and devastating and would for all intents and purposes either kill or horribly injure the victim....but it was never assumed that anybody was ever killed.
Well, unless you count getting squished by a subway train or falling from a high-rise building.
Quality, creativity, and good cinematic style >>>>>>> cartoonish gore.
I think these "super finisher" (-_-) are slightly better than the KAF of MKA. MKA's version of the fatalities just flat-out sucked and showed an unbelievable amount of laziness or at the least, rushing in the MK Team's part. I'd rather have the characters each have a specific finisher or two at the end of the match than all characters have a bunch of the same, boring-looking moves.
Like the above post says, something like the Blazing Moves in Def Jam would be nice. No decapitations and overuse of blood, but definitely cool to see.

Agreed! I made a thread before where forum members helped me compile a list of the thing that would help improve the Fatalities and some of what's been ssaid here was what we all came up with. I too want the Fatalities to be more realistic and less cartoony. MK needs to get back to the serious and dark image it once hard.
