8. Shinnok - Shinnok is is drastically different than his former self. Shinnok is a local cult leader, and self proclaimed practitioner of black magic. Though he is not considered a threat to most, his powers of reading the future are undeniable, and was enough to gain the interest of Onaga. This Shinnok is actually very young looking sporting long bright red hair, and extremely pale skin. He wears tight , blood red leather pants, and fights shirtless, showing off scars of ancient symbols carved into his flesh ( imagine SFIII's Remy but with red hair, ghost white skin and shirtless with scars.)

9. Shang Tsung - This version of Shang Tsung is no longer human. This is Tsung at his basic demonic form. He appears almost fragile ( think golem or dobbie from harry potter ) but he is actually very ferocious and still has wields powerful magic. This Tsung is a former shell of himself, after he and Goro were defeated. Tsung simply has no home realm to flee to now, fearing King Gorback will have him killed for his failure. He now sttays on earth waiting for a chance to get revenge on the earth realm warriors.

10. Shao Kahn - On this earth, Shao Khan is not in fact the evil ruler of Outworld, but is actually the former King Jerrod's second in command and leader of the Edinian army. Khan fights for queen sindel, and helped stop the shokan invasion ordered by King Gorback, and led by Shang Tsung and Goro, however Goro had killed Jerrod during the invasion before fleeing for earth. Shao Khan was then ordered by queen sindel to aid the earth realm warriors defend earth against the shokan army.
Though they were succesfull in stopping the Shokans, Khan now finds himself back on earth nearly 20 years later aiding the earth realm warriors in defeating their own champion Onaga, and his growing army of followers.
Shao Kahn has a modernized look to him His skull helmut, gauntlets, boots ect, are made out a very sleek reflective type of steel. Imagine Shao Kahns armor being dipped into liquid metal, and he gets some pants ).

11. Lao Kang - Lao Kang is an mash up of 3 characters. She is the daughter of Liu Kang and Kittana. After Liu was killed, Kitanna had learned she was pregnant. After the child was born, the elder gods had felt this child had the potential to become the next earth realm champion. Kitanna decided to allow the child to be raised and trained on earth by her god father, Kung Lao. Now Lao fights to avenge her fathers death. Lao has completely original look, but where Liu's trade mark headband, and her mothers' blue colors in her outfit. She uses Lui Kangs flying kicks, with Kitanna's fan moves, and Kung Lao's diving kick.

12. Onaga - On this version of Earth, Onaga was to be the earth realm champion. With the guidance of lord Raiden, he fought alongside Liu Kang, and the other earth realm warriors to defeat the sorcerer Shang Tsung. Onaga would defeat Goro and become the champion. However the pressure of being the worlds savior had taken its toll on Onaga and corrupted his soul. Onaga no longer trusted the gods, feeling they were hiding something. He became paranoid, feeling that as the earths savior he was a god himself, and started alligning himself with powerful criminals and extremist. His last shred of humanity died when he murdered his former alli , Liu Kang. His favor with humanity allowed to him to deceive the human race, taking over power of the largest country in the world and starting war with all who opposed is regime.
A chance meeting with the man known as Shinnok would give Onaga the answers he was looking for. Shinnok tells Onaga that thousands of years ago, earth had been visited by "the one being", a being so powerful, even the elder gods feared it. This being would travel from realm to realm, possessing one of its species, and then take control of the planet. This time, it possessed a japanese kingdom, and their lord Onaga. The possesion would transform the simple ruler into the Dragon King, a powerful ruler who would eventually rule the world. The Elder Gods were powerless, however they realized that if they could seperate the being from its human host, they could atleast seal the being away forever. In battle that almost destroyed the planet, they managed to weaken the being, and seal it away into the Kamidogu, which they would shatter, and hide its pieces through out the realms to ensure it would never be found. The bloodline of the possessed king would carry on through the ages, to this, the modern day Onaga.
Upon hearing this Onaga , now seeks the fractured peaces of the kamidogu so that he can gain the power of "the one being", and rule the entire earth once and for all.
Onaga's look is very slick and powerful. He has long flowing white hair, and dresses in a classy meets futuristic way. Think Sepiroth from FF7, but with a Fist of the North Star style build.

If you cant tell, I actually have an entire fan fiction story / novel I have been working on for about year called "Mortal Kombat : Timeline ", which takes place after the events of Armageddon. I dont want to get too off topic, but the basic idea of the story is what I have envisioned MK8 to be like, ever since Boon announced shortly after Armageddons release that the series would go in a new darker direction.

My idea is that Onaga kills blaze and takes over earth realm. Raiden has given up on humanity, and the world is in chaos. After a clockmaker loses his family im the chaos, he curses the gods for what has happend. This brings down Aeon, the god of time, who explains that himself and the elder gods are powerless to stop onaga now, because he has drained them of their power. There is one hope though. Their are an infinate number of dimensions and timelines to transverse. If the clockmaker could travel to an alternate earth, and could find a new group of warriors to come to THIS earth to try and stop Onaga. Long ago, Aeon had transfered some of his power into a sword, that would give its wielder the powers of time and space, in the event that Onaga would ever come back to power. Now the clockmaker must wield the sword, and travel across time and space in hopes of finding a new group of warriors to stop Onaga in Mortal Kombat.
The alternate earths / and times he ends up at is populated by the characters I've described above and in my other post, as well as a bunch of new ones. Someday I'll finish it and post it on the fan fiction submissions if you any of you are interested.

Ok first off

Your first set of characters are pretty well thought out and i like how you made them, but the 2nd set is... no. Imo, that is not a good storyline because you COMPLETELY changed all the characters and no one is anything like they used to be. I know Mk8 is gonna be different but that doesn't mean change everyone and leave nothing left of their former selves.

I have more to say about this but, oh, who cares anyway....

Hey jpetrunak, I like the new character, Lao Kang. But you should go with a different name. Well, at least the first name. How about......Leah Kang or Keisha Kang? Go with Keisha Kang, it sounds fabulous!

LOL at Keisha .... maybe its should be shaniqua kang. I dont know.

Keep in mind though that alot of these changes i've envisioned include the fact that this would still be a game. Though Shinnok seems completely different than the source material, his special moves would still consist of using portals to summons giant skeleton hands and other undead beings.
Keep the concept of the character from a gaming standpoint their, but give his look and story a face lift.

The names and details are still just place holders for now until I get time to flesh out the entire story, but thats the basics of it. Though it seems like alot of DRASTIC changes, the characters themselves are pretty true to their source material, which actually ties into the story of the endless amount of alternate dimensions, but the same "soul" or "energy" is simultaneously occupying each dimension. It actually gets really philosophical.

Basically my idea not only for my story, but for what I actually hope happens with the real Mortal Kombat, is that they try something radically different like this. They don't have to change the characters in the same way I have, but I would like to see some of the more popular characters exist, but make them new and exciting again. Make it darker. Get back to the dark roots of the series.

Quite honestly I feel the most die hard fans could really give to shits about people like Lei Mei and Hotaru, and would rather see characters like Sub and Scorpion. The problem is that these characters are just kind of getting stale, and its seems the more Boon and Co. try to give these characters new storylines, the further and further they get from the original concepts that made them popular.

Scorpion is a mysterious spirit of vengeance. He is THE bad ass of the MK universe. So make him bad ass again, with the take no prisoners, loner type that everyone fears.

Sub Zero ( the second ) still had a history with Scorpion. So explore that history again. Instead of finding amulets of power and all that bullshit, explore the history behind the Lin Kuei, or have a whole new Sub-zero, and give him reason to want to destroy scorpion.

Thats kind of my idea with the way I envision the characters, take whats cool about them but flip it. Like with Shinnok. Shinnok is a bad ass evil demi-god, so take the concept and make it more frightening and realistic. Make him someone that the rebellious youth of an oppressed generation look up to. He is that leader of the "children of the corn", he is more powerful than he lets on , and he can convert even the most faithful of humanity. He is Shinnok, just not your grandpa's Shinnok. Same concept with the rest of the characters.

And SPOILER ALERT ******, but the entire purpose of my fan fiction is to basically ret con the disaster that was Armaggedon, and have a means to get the core characters back on track, by erasing the events of Armaggedon from the Mortal Kombat timeline. Which in the end will get all of the characters back to their old selves, yet keeping the door open for any changes the fans liked.

Boon just needs to give me a fucking job and let me run with the ball because I know I could make the ultimate MK game, fix all the shit they messed up, please the die hard fans, and get the series back to being important. So yea, maybe after I release the fan fiction you guys can start a petition for that .. LOL.

About Me
On the first page of our story,
The future seemed so bright.
But this thing turned out so evil,
I don’t know why I’m still surprised.
Even angels have their wicked schemes,
And you take that to new extremes.
But you’ll always be my hero,
Even though you lost your mind...

Okay, i know im probably gonna like forget about some rly important bits of the story and then like make up others, but hey, im allowed haha.

Anywayz, who I would like to return (not gonna happen, but my ideal game would have these guys) would be..

- Sheeva
- Shao Kahn
- Sindel
- Jade
- Tanya
- Goro
- Dairou

Shao Kahn killed Sheeva in MK3 after he found out she was traitorous, however, upon the erection of the pyramid, the greatest fighters from all time periods were resurrected to ensure that there would be someone strong enough to defeat Blaze. Sheeva was one of these fighters.

Goro, now working for Shao Kahn, summoned an army of 128 Shokans to assist Kahn in defeating Blaze. Among this army, Sheeva, who was recently resurrected, blended in and everyone assumed she was just another Shokan soldier. I mean theyre Shokans.. they probz didn't know how to count. But yeh.. no one knew that there was a traitor among them.

These soldiers aligned in front of Goro, their Prince, who ordered them to mercilessly kill anyone they saw as a threat. He revealed that Queen Sindel, Princess Kitana and their allies thought Goro was still on their side, and that he was going to undermine them in the name of Kahn.

Sheeva was once Queen Sindel's protector. She also hated Kahn, and his disrespect for her race in favour of the filthy Centaurs. She vowed to inform Princess Kitana and Queen Sindel of Goro's treachory, and while it was against her patriotic values, she knew that Kahn held no loyalty to the Shokan and would kill Goro and the rest as soon as they lead him to his prize. He must be stopped at any cost, even if it meant forgetting the Shokan.

In Armageddon, Sheeva was able to reach Queen Sindel and Princess Kitana, and inform them about Goro's plans. They were sceptical at first, however Sindel could tell she was being honest. Sheeva informed them that they had no chance against the army of Shokan out there brutally killing everyone. Once Kahn was granted his power, he would no doubt seek control over Earthrealm, Outworld and Edenia.

Sindel then told them of a realm that she knew about. It was one that was never spoken of, as it was filled with evil. After committing suicide, a clear crime against nature, she was banished to the Netherrealm. This was a realm of death, where disgusting creatures roamed and the forces of evil took control. However, Sindel knew it was better than once again being a servant of Kahn.

Before their plan could come into action, Kitana seeked out her ally, Jade. She came out of hiding, looking around furiously. Then, she saw Jade a few hundred metres ahead in Mortal Kombat with Kintaro. Kitana sprinted ahead, taking out her fans. Jade was on the floor, wounded. Kintaro jumped into the air, about to crush her, when suddenly a silver fan cut came flying at him.

Kintaro wasn't able to dodge the flying blade, but all it did was knock him back. Kintaro turned and saw Kitana approaching, and instead of finishing off Jade, he went straight to the Princess. Kitana assumed her Ba Gua stance and held him off for a while. After a minute or so of a good fight, Kintaro went dirty and walked back to Jade. Kitana heroically stood in front of Jade, protecting her, however Kintaro simply lifted Kitana up from the ground. She squirmed around, however his grasp was too strong. He held her body with his bottom hands, and his his top ones, crushed her skull, then mercilessly threw her to the ground.

Kintaro then walked up to Jade, laughing. However, he didn't see behind him, in typical fashion, Tanya with her Kobu Jutsu. She stabbed him in the back (literally), then shot a fireball at him at full force. As Kintaro fell to the ground, Jade awoke and saw Tanyas weapons impaled within Kintaro and Kitana lying on the floor, dead.

Jade demanded Tanya tell her everything that happened, and Tanya did. However, Jade didn't believe it. What were Tanyas motives? Why did she help the forces of good? Suddenly, another Shokan came crushing down, and removing his blade from its chest was Dairou.

Dairou told Jade everything that happened, and it aligned with Tanyas story exactly. He apologized for not helping Kitana, but hey.. at least that meant it was only 1 Shokan and not 2. Confused, Jade asked if he knew anything about where the Queen was, and Dairou showed her straight to their hiding spot.

As they entered the mini-cave place, Sindel came wielding her blade. She saw Jade, but who was this mysterious man? And more importantly, why the fuck was Tanya there? Jade explained everything, and Sindel, suspicious, still allowed Tanya and Dairou to go with them.

Dairou instead suggested another realm though. It was orderrealm, no death, not evil.. just order. It sounded like a better choice, and they all agreed to go there. Yayz!

I'll stop here and edit later haha.. cbf any more confused

Have to agree on the first 7 characters being in the game.
Unfourtunately there are a few characters that don't have anything going for them at the moment, like Kano, Jonny Cage, Sonya.

As they are definately going to have to follow the story after Armageddon, i think they should choose either Liu Kangs, or Fujins Endings. They seem to make more sense in the direction the story seems to be going compared to the rest.

So the characters i would like to see are:

Good

Defenders of Earth Realm:
Liu Kang - After the events of Armageddon, that Elder Gods gave Liu Kang one more chance of life (i did have a fairly good idea written down - but i lost it :()
Kung Lao - Tags along with Liu Kang
Fujin - The elder gods appointed Fujin as the new defender of earth realm after Raidens demise.

Outerworld Investigation Agency:
Sonya Blade -
Johnny Cage - No longer working in the Movie industry, Johnny cage now is a core member of the Outerworld Investigation Agency.
Stryker - During the events in Armageddon, Strykers life was saved by Jax, however this cost Jax his life, and in return Stryker vows to help Sonya with the Outerworld Investigation Agency.
Cyrax -

Lin Kuei:
Sub Zero - Leader of Lin Kuei
Smoke - Sub Zero defeated Smoke, and with the help of Outerworld investigation Agency had him reprogrammed an more humanised to a similar state to Cyrax.

Other Agendas:
Kitana - New Leader of Edenia
Rain - Even though he is evil in the previous titles - now that shao kahn is dead i think it is time for Rain to turn over a new leaf and start rebuidling Edenia with Kitana, however when Kitana announces she will compete in the Mortal Kombat, Rain decides to follow her.

Evil

Black Dragon:
Kano
Kabal
Jarek

[New Group Name]:
Tsung
Goro
Baraka
Reptile

Other Agendas:
Raiden
Noob Saibot

Neutral

Spectre:
Scorpion

Obviously this many characters won't be returning. I think that there should only be about 8-12 max from the previous titles.

I definately think returners will be:

Liu Kang
Fujin
Scorpion
Sub Zero
Johnny Cage
Tsung
----

Other than that i can't think of anybody else.

Returnees should include:

Raiden- With his evil side lurking, the Protector of Earthrealm needs to come back, he's a legend, and one of Mortal Kombat's Posterboys.

Fujin- With what's happening to Raiden, Fujin stepped up to become Earthrealm's protector, and expand story.

Subby and Scorp- Face it, without them, there is no Mortal Kombat >.o

Noob- Expand story, nemesis to Scorp and Sub

Smoke- Part of the Sub plotline, Flesh out- Literally lol

Ermac- One of the good guys, Ermac needs to come back because they are awesome!

Reptile- Possibly have a new storyline and twist Reptile around - Can even become a good guy because he's used so much

And the rest is open for new chars, and possibly some more old ones

My list of characters who should stay:
1 - Raiden
2 - Kung Lao
3 - Scorpion
4 - Sub-Zero
5 - Shang Tsung
6 - Liu Kang (Alive)
7 - Johnny Cage
8 - Sonya
9 - Kitana
10 - Nightwolf
11 - Jax
12 - Fujin

New Character Design:
The character design should give more optiona in chlothing. They should give a better face and body design kind of like Def Jam Icon or Fight Night. A create a fatality system should be diffrent, more traditional or classic fatalities, not rip a person apart fatality.

1. Scorpion-NEUTRAL-(My favorite)- After killing Blaze at the top of the pyramid with the help of Quan-chi. Scorpion and Quan-Chi fight until Scorpion eventually kills Quan-Chi. Quan-Chi last words reveal the location of Scorpions long lost son. Scorpion then ensues on the search for his son.

2.Raiden-EVIL-After plotting and sucessfully killing Johnny Cage,Sonya,Stryker, and Jax, Raiden begins to feel the evil energy flow through his body. He then begins to to assemble his throne over Earthrealm.

3.Cyrax-GOOD- After being wounded in the Final battle by Raiden, he makes his way back to a cave, where he is nursed back to full health by Nightwolf. nightwold informs him of Raiden demise and killing of his Outer World Investigation Agency allies and makes his way to revenge againsbalt Raiden.

4. Kabal-NEUTRAL- Takes over and becomes the Leader of the Black Dragon Clan.

5.Sub-Zero-GOOD- Now being referred too as the Elder Gods "Chosen One". Sub-Zero trains constantly and harnesses his powers even more becoming an even better fighter. His new goal is to take down Raiden by any means necessary.

6.Noob Saibot-EVIL-Now with his former ally,Smoke killed. Noob Goes back into the Darkness and awaits for his time to strike. What or Who he will strike is yet to be known.

7.Ermac-GOOD-Unable to clear his name for his evil past, Ermac aligns himmself with Sub-Zero to bring down Raiden.

8.Kitana-GOOD- After Mileena was eliminated, Shao Kahn assumed to finally be dead, and her mother finally resting in peace. Kitana along with Bo Rai Cho and Li Mei begin restoring Edenia. While restoring Edenia, Kitana finds out that her new ally Li Mei, has been struck with a deadly disease.Bo Rai Cho informs Kitana that he can heal her, however her time is limited and ingredents as slim. Tanya now hit with frustration seeks out the same ingredients to prevents Li Mei from living.

9.Tanya-EVIL- Screwed out of taken over Edenia due to a new alliance with Kitana,Li Mei, and Bo Rai Cho, Tanya recieves news of a sickness that has hit Li Mei, and seeks out to retrieve the ingredients before her new Nemesis,Kitana does.

10.Kai-GOOD-After seeming his allies Kung Lao and Lui Kang killed in action, he returns to Earthrealm to train. Being the last member of the White Lotus Society, Kai Seeks to restore the Soceity to it once former-self.

11.Kenshi-GOOD- After the events of the Final Battle, Kenshi becomes Sub-Zero's right hand man. He along with Ermac, and Sub-Zero try to establish peace back in Earthrealm.

I can only think of 11 characters to bring back. I think Throughout the New Konquest mode, it will tell what happened to the rest of the cast or have some unlockable video explaining each of the characters death.

Plus the storyline of "Tourny" mode should each be focused on the characters "storyline." like with Raiden, your sub-boss would be Ermac, and the final boss would be fighting Kenshi, then Sub-Zero keeping the same health ans such.

New Characters- around 15 or so.

Here are some new character ideas that I was going to post earlier, but didn't get around to:

Selphina
A female sorceress from a disconnected realm. She carries with her a staff with an orb on top of it, which she uses in combat both as a physical weapon, and to launch sorcery-based attacks at her opponents. She appears to be about Li Mei's age, but is assumed to be the greatest sorcerer that has posed a threat to the realms.

She'd be my boss character. This generation's Shang Tsung, if you will. She's not a pure evil entity, though. Just a selfish and ambitious one.

Belokk
The best man in Shinnok's demonic army. He volunteers to leave the Netherealm, the source of his strength, to hunt down Noob Saibot, whom Shinnok wants dead for trying to take over the realm.

He basically has a similar design to what was planned for MK4, only with more detail and the like. I think it's a cool character design with a story behind it, so people might be interested in him.

Deatre
The bringer of death in his realm, Deatre finds himself bent to the power of the boss of the game, and his scythe hopes to collect the head of many who stand in his way. He is based n the grim reaper, and his origins are unknown, even to himself. He is intrigued by the fearless of the sorceress, Selphina, however, and he believes she can provide him with answers if he serves her.

Ellira
A female Edenian warrior who survived Armageddon and was a key part of Edenia's survival during the battles. She is approached by Havik after Armageddon, and informed of some shenanigans involving who is on the throne. Ellira is taken to the ghost of Sindel by Havik, and Ellira is taught some techniques to help her survive, seeing as she is bound to be marked for death by the faux Queen.

Ellira wears humble peasants clothing, discarding her Edenian armour to fight against the hierarchy of the realm she once fought to protect. However, her best friend and hopeful lover are hurt by her betrayal, and look to bring her to what they believe is justice.

I'd give Ellira lots of "ghost-based" special moves, such as diving through her opponent and kicking them from behind, or something. These can be explained via Sindel.

Famen
A martial artist from a far distant realm. He is a martial arts genius, but has a generally peaceful nature. He likes writing poetry, for example. He has a connected past to Selphina. He taught her pretty much all she knows in the martial arts, and at one stage, it looked like there was going to be a budding romance between her, but then Selphina joined an invading threat to their realm by the name of Apox, who has enslaved and killed millions. He has to decide what is more important: his love for Selphina, or to fight against Apox.

Lazzara
One of Outworld's greatest martial arts masters. He lost his arm in a battle once, and decided it was not worth fighting without the full extension of his abilities. Lazzara is sought out by Li Mei, who witnessed her Master Bo' Rai Cho killed in battle with Baraka. Cho told her she had mastered everything she needs to know, but Li Mei still does not have the confidence she needs to step up as the chosen warrior of Outworld.

Lazzara accepts her as a student, but is laughed at by his granddaughter, who did not know of his martial arts past. It was an innocent laughter, but Lazzara feels he has something to prove, so he instructs Li Mei to stay behind and protect his granddaughter as he fights in the latest tournament.

I'd have Lazzara look like he's gone through hell. You'll believe he's seen many wars. He fights one-armed, but still has the skill needed to survive. A lot of his special moves would involve a hand forged of his chi popping out of his chest, or something, and knocking the opponent flying. I'd have this character be the one responsible for teaching Shao Kahn in the martial arts, and giving him the skill-set he needed to become so dominating.

Ming Bao
An Earthrealm warrior who as been training for years. He was "Hornbuckle" in MK2, and defeated Blaze on the bridge, which weakened him enough for Onaga's men to imprison him. Bao feels terrible about that. He has been training extremely intensely, and is an Earthrealm kung fu master with perhaps the darkest edge to him so far. Having cleared his soul, he is approached by Liu Kang, Nightwolf and Johnny Cage from the enlightened spirit world, who have helped train him further for the new tournament.

Pestus
Think a cross between Baraka and Voldo from Soul Calibur crossed. Pestus would be the new "built-in blade" wielder of the series, but his blades are just part of a completely armoured costume. No one really knows what Pestus looks like underneath his armour, because anyone that has come close has been killed. He was captured, however, and placed on death row for rape and murder in his realm. That was until Apox let him out of prison if he agreed to fight for Selphina in a new tournament.

I'd want Pestus to be be a genuinely scary character. I'd give him the most macabre Fatalities. I'd have them go on for a good five minutes or so (only players would be able to do them), and they would just be extreme torture. He's a sick puppy, and hopefully he becomes the closest thing to incomprehensible evil in the series.

His armour goes from head-to-toe, and is black, maybe with some gold markings. Eventually you may work out who is just under the helmet of Pestus, and you may be surprised.

Rentrus
There are big things planned for Rentrus in my story, let me just say that. He is from Earthrealm, and never knew his real parents. He grew up in a rich family, who could feed his curiosities. He found he has a bizarrely nature talent in martial arts, and is extremely dangerous with his fists.

He's a young guy. I'd give him long auburn hair, and he appears to be in amazing physical condition, and knows it. The closest thing a female MK player would get to an "eye candy" character. He has some modeling in his Earthrealm past, and just hasn't been deformed by fights because he never loses.

Saturai
Like Ellira, he fought in Armageddon, and he was even more so a critical component of Edenia being so successful in the battles. He is commended for his work by Princess Kitana, and is then picked as a suitor when Queen Sindel passes, and it is time for Kitana to take the role of Queen. He is another "pretty boy" character, only he is high-ranked in the Edenia military. He becomes the Champion of Edenia, and is eager to fight in this new tournament under Kitana's command.

However, he discovers that Ellira has apparently disappeared, and there are rumours of treachery. Saturai grew up with Ellira, and he assumes her to be jealous of his relationship with the Queen. Saturai decides it might be better if he confronts his friend and brings her to justice before any other member of the Edenian Guard finds her, and is blinded by loyalty to the Queen.

Saturai could have a lot of interesting choices within the context of the game. Does he side with Ellira when he finds out that Kitana is an imposter? What if she is doing great things for the realm? If Saturai becomes King, then he is a position to help out and monitor then. Will Saturai work it out? He admits that he always pictured Kitana to be more conservative and less of a freak in bed...

Viper
A girl from Earthrealm who finds herself in one of the cities Sektor's Tekunin have taken over. She is plucked out, for some reason, and transformed into a black cybernetic ninja. She retains her memories, feelings and emotions, though. She seems capable of free thought. Sektor orders her to track down and kill Sonya Blade. Viper doesn't know what to do, but when Sektor threatens to kill her boyfriend, whom he has captured, Viper agrees to do so. Besides, Sektor would have fitted her with a bomb or something he could detonate if she refused...right?

Basically Viper is a good girl who tries to justify bad decisions as being out of her hands. Are they? Perhaps. That is something she has to discover. She also has to work out "why her?" Her father was in the military, and taught her self-defence growing up, but nothing that would make her the best choice for an assassin, by any means.

As a gimmick that matches up with the "Viper" name, she can have a pet robotic snake which she can use for special moves and Fatalities. And maybe even as her weapon style.

Vitus
The older brother of Nitara, and someone of important within the realm of Vaeternus. He dresses fancy, and is not expected to be a scout, but when Nitara does not report back after Armageddon, Vitus goes out looking for his sister, worried about her health. If anything has happened to her, the realms will know just what a true vampire dignitary is capable of.

His name was originally going to be "Lazzara," but I decided that the implied meaning of that name doesn't really suit Vitus at all. Well, I suppose one can make a case for the vampiric existence being a "second life," but I just pulled "Vitus" out of nowhere instead. I was also considering spelling it "Vitis," but I think "Vitus" just looks better. Looking up the name, there are a lot of associations with it that I think fit my character perfectly.

Dionus
Think that cliche bad ass guy in action movies, who survives everything and always beats whoever he is against. Now imagine if they were on the side of evil. That's what Dionus is. He was the Champion of his realm, but when Apox invaded, he didn't even put up a fight, and instead bowed down to a new master. Dionus reasoning is that fighting when there is no hope winning, it risks pointless lives to fight.

His best friend was betrayed by this, and continues to lead a resistance against Apox and hopes to bring Dionus to justice, but he is not in this game, rather the sequel. Dionus wields the War Hammer of Shao Kahn he found, which might make him a worthy enemy. But Shao Kahn might be in for a surprise.

Dionus hopes that Earthrealm and Edenia don't fight meaninglessly against him in this new tournament. Because life that struggles so pathetically is not worthy of living.

Does anyone think Midway might go with Noob's ending from MKA, creating a new character out of the Noob's two halfs unable to defeat one another?
