Rumor has it that MK(6) will feature an extensive 1-Player Mode. My thoughts on that ...
I think the one big drawback and fear the MK team have with this is the fact that if they did go ahead with this, it may make the current character roster selection almost useless ad people woulnd't select any pre-desgiend characters. I know because this happens alot with Wrestling games with me... I tend to not want to be other superstars if I have my own guy. So i think they should make a mode like that but put limits on it.

Maybe they should let you fight every character in the game in arcade mode if it can be done.

i dont like the idea of expanding one player stuff...i mean for all that just throw out some more MK:SF or stuff but KEEP MORTAL KOMBAT MORTAL KOMBAT. My idea of mortal kombat is turning on my game and BAM hitting up versus mode and fighting my friends while figuring out more moves....i dont know about everyone else but i dont want to have to spend about 2 hours sitting through some storyline just to find out my characters moves. or maybe its me....im sorry im too competitive...but isnt that what mortal kombat is about? comeptition? getting on and just slaughtering your opponenet and maybe getting some secret characters by winning and beating the game. If you want to add all that stuff then they should make a seperate MK like MORTAL KOMBAT SOLITARY or something but please keep mk in what made it mk. And for anyone who is confused about ....well what made mk what it is...i advise you to go out and find MK 1 and play it with your friends and get that feeling back of just pressing start and fighting good competition. Dont take it the wrong way, its a good idea but not for what mortal kombat IS i feel.

That's a pretty good idea M4C. But I do see the problem where you'll have losers that will just try to make a character that's as impossible to beat as Goro or something. That might cause for a rapid rise in cheap characters in decline in fun factor. I like the expansion of the one player concept to. I think it's important to have a relatively strong and somewhat interactive storyline that a player can become familiar with. in some ways I think the general story line is one of the reasons that I've stuck to MK this long. There aren't many MK players that don't know what Edenia is or what the tournaments about.
I also think that the two-player mode should be expanded to balance the game out. Maybe you could gain points or specific coins based on how many people you beat in two-player mode or something along those lines.
I also hope that MK6 will have smoother graphics, along the lines of Squaresoft's style. If any of you have played The Bouncer, you'd see what I mean by the smooth flow of the graphics, and the fluidity of the fighters when you versed someone. They maintained that effect even when there were mre than four fighters on the screen.

The lack of 2nd Fatalities was due to lack of time, the lack of Stage Fatalities was (said to be) due to bug in the game engine (that also couldn't be solved due to lack of time). Those 2 aren't really a problem, as the Dev Team already stated Stage Fatalities as a near confirmed presence in MK6, and they also said they wanted to make more Fatalities. So, the problem isn't with that part. Also, I agree with them, as the fight should be the most important, and not the end of each match. Therefore, they should improve on the secrets and on the single player experience. Maybe even have a way that 2 players can play a single player type of game. Eg. players 1 and 2 go into Arcade Mode. They fight alternatelly, and then, if they both win every match, the last one before the Sub-Boss will be a fight against each other. Another good inclusion would be a Tournament kind of game, available to 4 players at the same time. About the 1 player mode, see what I said about it before.
