It is clear he is Japanese, and I am not saying for him to speak entirely Japanese, then he could as they do in the Tekken games. He could mention a few phrases...because it is cool over here in the states, as learning English is cool in Japan....they have other languages they learn in Japan too besides English.
he likes muffins the most, his big orangesnakin sleeves are filled with magic uffinsthat give him telkinesis

It is about Scorpions language, I am just messing with the dude. lol
It's pretty apparent the man is and was Japanese. Now he could throw out a few phrases because it would sound cool. Learning more than one language is fun, but it's on the person. I am saying besides hearing the same old same old talk over and over, put some thing new in the mix. That's just the bottom line on that...Ermac loves Jimmy Dean sasuages too. lol tongue
yep them soul sauges are mighty fillin. he also likes orange chickengrin

I bet he does....we can argue what Scorpion likes to eat, but that would be irrelvant...he's dead. lol I would love to see one day that Scorpion speak at least a bit in his native tongue. In Japan, Mortal Kombat is not that popular, and you will not find it over there. I can reassure you that Tekken is though. "Get over here" in Japanese, "Odie (O-e-day)".

Only problem one might run into is that Ed Boon voices Scorpion's phrases. And since I don't think he knows Japanese, I doubt Scorpion'll be saying anything in it for a while.
Personally, I'd rather hear someone like Hsu Hao or Mavado speaking a native language. Adds to their intrigue.

They can always use a double stunt voice double to do Scorpion little dialogue in Japanese. I agree with you though about Hsu Hao and Mavado...well in the Choasrealm they talked backwards as well in the Netherealm. Why doesn't Havik talk that way? Some day Scorpion will speak his native tongue. They did it for Tekken, Dead or Alive and many others, they can do it for MK.

Hmmm... not MK, but in Street Fighter, which is a Japanese game, they don ́t have native languages for all chars.

They started to change this up in SF3. Chun-Li gets a couple Chinese phrases, English speakers (sans Ken) speak English, and one of Elena's intros is a Swahili greeting.

The only reason those other games have foreign languages is because Capcom, Namco, etc. are based in Japan, where they have much higher work ethic and standards of quality.

This is the culture that taught "if you 're ashamed of something, the proper thing to do is kill yourself", after all.

We ain't got that and we ain't gonna get it.
And I'm gonna say this one more time: NINJAS NEED TO BE MULTI-LINGUAL! How's a foreign client gonna talk to Scorpion if he only knows one goddamn language?

They're not taught to kill themselves...that's like saying all black people speak ebonics, that isn't true at all. lol I lived in Japan for 4 years, thanks to the Navy. lol Though all ninja's could be muti-lingual, that would make sense...though I have a theory now. Since Takeda was original a member of the Lin Kuei and went to Japan to start the Shinaryu, he at least taught them Chinese a bit. Scorpion should still say a little some thing here and there in Japanese. Though when you say foreign now, think about it....other nations would be most interested in assassins as well, not English speaking one's either. The other nations in the world.

The seppuku thing was just meant to be an example of how they take more pride in their work in general over there than Midway ever will.

You'll never see someone call Nintendo lazy. If their game isn't right, they will delay it until it is. That's because they aren't in Chicago grinning like idiots at fart noises and making one of their co-workers a character.

And for the record, I picture Scorpion as knowing more than just English and Japanese. I said multi-lingual instead of bi-lingual for a reason.

You did say that, and I agree with you. You can say the same as Sub-Zero and Noob being multi-lingual too. Of course Cyrax and Sektor are that way because just like the Mario Van Pebos movie Solo, they have a universal language translator too...of course, we can not forget about Smoke too. :) I bet the employees at Midway fart and make stupid jokes all day long...lol. I can see that, no different from when I was in the Navy. NEVER AGAIN!furious

Yet he is undead, he still talks. A dead Japanese man who is multi-lingual. Ever make you think? I mean it's ok to admit that...I mean the game is made in America, sure every one will be narrow minded and stick to one language. Though I would love the ideal of Scorpion since he is of Japanese hertiage to speak some ounce of it...it would be cool. The Japanese see that over there in Japan some people speaking some English, now why couldn't that be the same here? Tsk, tsk, tsk...I guess it hurts the youth of our generation to learn new things? Go Nulti-lingustics!!! Woooo!!!

In order to have Japanese lines in the game, the characters would have to talk, y'know, at all.

Other than Scorpion's "Get over here", which it would just not be right to alter ever, and the dialogue he has in Konquest which you can't mess with because then nobody would understand what he's saying without subtitles, when does he talk? Except for Shaolin Monks vs. mode, MK games don't have those taunts at the beginning and end of a fight that Namco games do. And the ones in Shaolin Monks are the perfect example why not to have them. Other than "You just got Caged!" and Sub-Zero's MK-ese, it was all generic garbage.

And you can't all of a sudden have MK characters calling their move names like in Street Fighter and Dragonball Z because that shit is retarded. "I'm gonna tell you what I'm doing before I do it so you can totally move out of the way!"

And Zangief has always spoken Russian.

Heck, finding out why a bunch of Chinese Mahayana Buddhist monks are worshipping a Japanese Shinto thunder deity could take up a couple credits in itself.

As a mythology/religion buff, I've wondered that myself....

Scorpion screams out a second after he throws his spear at his oppenent, "Come here'! That's warning enough, and you still get hit with it here and there. lol Well a little Japanese here and there wouldn't hurt any one...yes reading subtitles would kill some of us...then that is just plain laziness. So some of us can understand when I say Cyrax, Sektor and Smoke can understand language universally. That is meant they can understand language of other realms as well. I mentioned that Havik is from Chaosrealm, and the natives speak backwards there, but he doesn't. Funny, huh? All Reptile will do is hiss, groan and speak English...Meat uses a british accent which is funny...lolgrin Speaking about worshipping the Elder Gods...I do not know what Shinnok is suppose to be, even if he was a form of some human, I would say he chose to be the wicked witch of the west monkey troops. lol Stupid hat he wears. confused
