Outworlders, Edenians, Seidans, Chaosrealmers, and demons in Hell all speak English, and the one that bothers you is a human from Japan whose profession probably required him to be multi-lingual?

The only thing in english he says anyway is "GET OVER HERE!" so maybe he does speak japanese but only knows how to say that in English

there's not really anything in MK to support all of them not being american unless you have 4 arms or green skin. IT'S NOT JUST SCORPION. because just because you're caucasion doesn't automaticaly make you american. steve irwin was australian, if you live in rome and your parents are from america or you move there from america and you're white, you're still not american. that is a very biased assumption.

I got an answer why Sektor is Multi-lingual. Just like in the movie Solo, since he is cyborg, he can translate any language easily. For Scorpion, that is no excuse though. lol

its very simple, the game is american, americans (in general) don't speak japanese or any other language.

I have never seen George Bush speak dutch when he is in the netherlands, so why should game makers use other languages?

No one speaks any Japanese at Midway, so Scorpion will continue to speak in English. At least Namco actors that work for them Speak, Japanese, Chinesse (Manadarin), British English Accent, Korean, and yes good old fashion English. Also, Scorpion throws the spear, it does not come out of his hand. lol

The answer to this question is simple my friends... It's MK. An American game made by American guys who have only a rudimentary understanding of Asian culture.

Look at Scorpion's ending in MK1. They show a picture of Daniel Pesina, a guy who's obviously not Japanese. Sub-Zero was referred to as a "Chinese Ninja" in the past. When many of these characters were created, I don't think they considered ethnic or historical accuracy.

They wanted to make a fun, simple, bloody fighter that catered to an American market... which is still pretty much what MK is.

Well....in Tekken 5, fighters who were American spoke english, fighters who were japanese spoke japanese, fighters who were chinese spoke chinese (etc....). Why can't MK do the same?
