This entire thing is not even debateable. There are not 12 extra characters. There are a few. GC owners deserve them for having to wait a long time and for the fact that they do not get online play. That is all. Now grow up and find something better to do with yourselves besides argue over something so damn stupid. God damn, where'd common sense go to anyway....

It's not like cancelling the GameCube version is going to make the characters the GC would have receieved suddenly appear in the PS2/X-Box version.
I hope you guys can understand that the fans WANT a GameCube version to be released, but the only way they can make money off of it is to include extra characters that aren't in other versions. Hopefully, all future next-generation consoles will feature netplay from the moment they're released, and then no 3rd-party company will ever again find themselves in the "Damned if you do, damned if you don't" position that Midway is in right now.

Yeah that was the response of a 7 year old. The "If I cant have it nobody should!" attitude is selfish, petty, and nobody of any standing would listen to it. There is no answer that everybody will think is fair. I can tell you this. They would rather piss off people that already bought the game than people that havent)
Personaly I rarly pay more than 30$ for a game. I don't think they should cost that much. I did for MKD though, and I feel like I've got my moneys worth. If the GC version happens to have something cool I have to have I will buy it again. I don't feel cheated. I have it now. Right now and have had it. The GC version isn't out and nobody even knows what is in it when it does come out for crying out loud.

Poor Midway.
They don't plan to release MKD for the GameCube, everyone whines. So they change their plans and do it anyway, and will probably lose money on it, people still whine.
It can't go online (not Midway's fault) so they'll either get whined at some more for either:
A) not having enough special features to make up for it, or
B) having too much special features which makes it unfair to the other guys
Do you guys want Midway to think that the online MK community is a bunch of whiners? If so, keep it up, guys.

Ur right!!!
I had gamecube and I bought PS2 to have MKD 1 yr before.... (and because the announcement that it would come 4 GC came AFTER I bought my PS2...)
If people want to have the extra characters (if there even are any!) , buy a GC! If u don't want to, that's OK too! Just take a choice!!! but start complaining about online play and all that crap! It has nothing to do with this! the only reason there is extra stuff it's because it's 1 yr late...

This is just to the people who keep saying : go out and buy a GC, go out and buy the internet adapter. My response: blow me, I spent enough on the damn game already, and I shouldn't have to spend more to get more out of the game. There should be no response to this post, because if you can't understand that not everyone has money to blow, then you apparently aren't mature enough to make a sensible post in the first place.

This is to those who posted: that people should just buy a GC and MKD and play it on that if they want extras, or buy the online connection if you don't have it. My response: blow me, I've payed enough money out for this damn game! So you know, not all of us have money to just throw around. I should not have to pay more to get more in this game when others pay less and receive more. There should be no response to this post, because if you are not mature enough to understand that not everyone is financially equal, you aren't mature enough to post period spewing out your ignorance.

I love how he says 'Im 21 and have a social life so I don't play MK anymore'.

I'm 22 and have a social life, going to grad school and holding a full-time job, and play MKD plenty.

Hey, I did it. I use to only own a cube, but upon hearing that the cube version won't be released till later and it won't have online play.... I bought a ps2 and a adapter. Don't have money to throw around? Easy, get a job... or a better one. The cube is much cheaper than a ps2... and plus you don't need to buy an online adapter. Still not satisified? SELL your ps2 for a cube. Probablem solved. If you can't sell your beloved system, sell some of your games. You'll get plenty money in return if you know how to sell things. Try it ebay. Hell, if you do end up selling your ps2 and MKD game... you'll probably have money left over to spend on whatever. Don't like the cube controler? Easy, buy the PS2 to cube adapter. It's cheap, and you should have money that you had left over from selling the ps2 and/or games. So I guess I am blowing you, feel good now?
Oh and another thing... it's not like this "exclusive" thing hasn't ever occured in MK history. Did the N64, PC, PSX users bitch and complain when MK4 (actually called MK Gold) come out for the dreamcast? It had 6 extra characters (5 at start + 1 hidden). I don't recall wetting my pants over this. hmmmmm.

Good point Sea Serpent, MKT was the same way too (The N64 and PSX version weren't truly equal, PSX had more characters because the system had more memory). This has been going on a long time now, but it just seems like people nowadays are looking for something to be unhappy about
