If the Dragon King is the main villain of MK6 and Shao Kahn will hopefully return, he may very well be a normal playable fighter. Which means, Shao needs some badass combos instead of "one punch and you're dead" moves.
What styles would Shao be using. What moves should he retain? His weapon (A giant mallet I hope)? His fatalities even!!!
Shao as a normal fighter would be extremely interesting and giving him more character than just "I'm an evil megalomaniac and I'm gonna bust your ass and rule the universe". He needs his own little story-line of REVENGE!!!

3 games? mk4/g and mkda/te
seems like 2 to me..dont count mk1 cause he wasn't introduced then.
kahn is old news. i dont see whats so cool about him. the people thatwant him back dont care about the mk storyline because they want the same shit over and over again.
some characters have to sdtay dead.
kang needs to stay dead, kahn needs to stay dead, goro needs to stay dead.
and what hints?
only think i remeber is that we haven't seen the last of kahn, he can appear in memory only

If Kahn comes back, he needs to have a look that says 'I'm evil and hard. Go ahead and f*** with me!' As the abdass boss of soem of the previous games, he'll need to be strong and have some decent styles. He'll probably have his old charge moves or maybe some new ones. As for a weapon, his hammer dosen't seem like it would be combo efficient, but who knows? As for Fatalities, he should wield some of his dark magic in there. He can also use it for special moves too.
I don't think Shao Kahn should be as big as we last saw him. He was pretty huge in comparison to other fighters, so he should just be slightly taller or the same height even. He should DEFINITELY have combos.
His green energy projectile must return, cuz that was badass. I would like Shao Kahn to look pretty much the same, except he would have more clothes on, more body armor to be specific (his battle uniform basically).

Shao Kahn is one of the coolest characters in all MK. definitely the baddest of the bad villains. When Midway said we haven't seen the last of Kahn I'm pretty sure that they meant more than a memory. And many people want to see Kahn return to be part of some new plots and Twists even if it doesn't revolve around him. I would much rather see Kahn as a secret character

I'd like to see Shao Kahn as a playable character.
I don't know what styles he'd have, but he should be more of a powerhouse fighter with blunt and painful looking attacks.
A mallet for his weapon would be cool; if not that, then he should have a flail like the Witch King had in Return of the King.
For his sotryline, it should be like: The Dragon King has returned and trying to conquer Outworrld, the good guys ally together to fight him and most of the bad guys side with the Dragon King; but Shao Kahn is on his own side and he has no allies. He wants to kill the Dragon King to take his power and kill the Earth fighters...just because.

Yeah he is the one that started Mortal Kombat. if it wasnt for him the earth warriors would never have had this fight to the death tourny. He needs to come back and reclaim his place. he also needs to stay big, that what made him so cool (that and his taunts, moves, and helmet). he wouldnt be much of a combo man, he would have more throws and power hits, and his hammer could have cool moves. he should have his helmet, but it should be knocked off if your hit in the face alot. Im not saying he should be the boss (i actually want a completely new boss that you cant play as at the start of the game) but i want him to be back and have a sweet story that could lead to him ruling again and trying to tak over earth realm again.
Shao Kahn should definately return. Most people think old characters should stay dead, but the more realistic graphics get, the more we want to see improved versions of our old characters.
The MKDA concept sketches of Shao Kahn in the Krypt were the best I've ever seen him. If we could duplicate him for MKD like that, he'd be freaking awesome ... cape and all. In the MKDA FMV, he looked like a freaking fat ass that couldn't fight for beans. He should be more average size and muscular, rather than so wide, tall, and muscular that he looks like a rhino.
Kahn has always been more about power than style. I DO think he should have combos, and he should be fast, but his moves should be less fancy and more centered around power. I think his two styles should be
Kickboxing
Chinese Boxing / Some Outworld Style
That should even things out. I also think he should have the mallet, but I'd prefer him to actually have a Scottish Broad Sword ... one of those LONG, monsterous two handed swords that are slow, but can do impressive combos for someone who's skilled with it.
Shao Kahn's story would definately be fueled by revenge. However, we'd see Shao Kahn like we've never seen him before -- he use to hide behind armies, and henchmen like Shang T'Sung and Kano ... but now we'll get a taste to see how much of a true terrifying warrior he really is, now that he's fighting through the tournament as a solo warlord wiping out every opponent in his path single-handledly, with no help whatsoever.
I'd welcome a Shao Kahn like this into MKD with open arms.

Havrah that is EXACTLY how I envision Shao. Midway can give him so much more depth bu changing his whole "boss image", we need a new boss and Shao has joined the tournament with a few allies to reclaim his throne as ruler of outworld and eventually... THE UNIVERSE~!!!

I would like to see Kahn as a regular, playable (secret?) character. As long as he's not a sub boss or final boss. You gott admit, he would add alot of atmosphere to the game. I also completely agree with Havrah's description.

Spoken like a truly ignorant moron.
People don't want Shao Kahn back because 'They don't care about the story' or 'Want the same stuff over and over'. Shao Kahn was a kick-ass boss, and probably one of the best bosses in fighting game history. Sure, maybe he was easy to beat, but the concept of the character, the character design, and the voice/taunt was great. Not only that, but in terms of STORY, Shao Kahn is obviously not dead. He didn't die at the end of MK3, and from what the developer chat suggested, he didn't necessarily die in MKDA either, which I'll take as fact, since it never mentioned anything about Shao Kahn being killed, other than some quick blurb in Reptile's Konquest mode, but Reptile was already having delusions at that point and could've seen anything.
How many times have characters died and come back in MK? Are you so thick-headed that you honestly think that people who want old characters to come back, Shao Kahn in particular, don't care about the story? Don't be such a dumbass...people want Kahn back because Kahn is a cool boss, and in MK:Deception, he can possibly fit in as one Hell of a cool playable character, which is something people have wanted for a LONG time...I know I have. So quit bashing other people's opinions and shut up, or just ignore topics about Shao Kahn, because you make it clear everytime people talk about Kahn that you don't like him, and frankly, listening to you bitch about it all the time is annoying.
I like Kahn a lot, but want him to stay dead. For the sake of the story they need to make death mean something. So far in the series death has never meant much. It's so easy to come back to life and happens so often.
In II he exploded, in 3 he is said to be "no more", in 4 he isn't mentioned at all then he returns only to die again? Enough already.
He had his run as main villain, managed to take over the world, but was beaten in the end. Let him have that legacy.

To anyone who hates on Shao Kahn I would tell you to go to an arcade with MK II and wait till the storyline screens come on and read that while looking at the pictures with the music on freakin loud and then come back and tell us that you still hate Shao Kahn.

Nice Shang.
Anyways, I would definitely like to see Shao Kahn back as a character in MKD. Shao Kahn was just fun to fight because he taunted you. I don't think any other game did that at the time with the purity that Shao Kahn did. It was fun.
If he is a playable character, thats awesome.

See, now THAT I agree with. If Kahn were to just stay dead, I'd be disappointed, but I'd at least be happy that he had a kick-ass Legacy in the MK Mythos. Though it seems that MK:D is definitely setting up for his return. Just gotta remember that none of the games ever truly said that he was dead, so if he were to come back, I wouldn't want him as a boss, but I'd DEFINITELY want to see him as a playable character, for one last hurrah.

i'd advise u too keep the flaming to a minimum, wouldn't want u nice new members to get skull points.
now i still see no reason for kahn to come back and no hints that he will come back.
to bring him back would be to move backwards.

Thanks Shang.
Maybe there are no hints that he won't be back but there are hints that he ain't dead. Kahn would be a great asset to new twists and plots
