Shao Kahn is dead. True or False?

Shinnok is dead. He was vulnerable without the amulet so he's dead. And hopefully for Good.
I doubt Kahn is dead. He is one of those villains who refuses to go. I hope he comes back as a secret character.
Quan Chi? I'm not too sure of. He might be dead..
Shang Tsung? I believe he's dead. He had too way many enemies who wanted to dig into his scalp. If one enemy fails then the other would achieve the victory.

Well, I completely disagree on the possibility of Liu Kang taking over Kano's body, because in order for that to happen, Shang Tsung would have to die (his body would be ripped apart, the souls released, Kano killed, Liu Kang would enter Kano's body), and that is unlikely to happen, since Shang is one of the best badass vilains in MK.
Also, now that I think about it, Shao Kahn's soul is not likely to be inside Shang Tsung's body, since if it was, his would be the first one to try to enter Kano's body in Quan Chi's ending. And if it was, Shang Tsung's body would be in real shit, since as soon as Shao Kahn and Liu Kang would meet inside, they would have the battle of the century
I have no doubt that Shao Kahn is dead. The thing is that he probably has some kind of spell over his soul that protects it. I mean, when he god defeated (suposedly at the hands of Liu Kang) in the end of MK3, he still got back (the best theory about that I heard is that he took over Reiko's body while he got it back together, but that doesn't matter).
I think what's likely is that the Dragon King's soul will probably enter Shao Kahn's body, and we will see Kahn in another body fighting in one of the next tournaments in order to get his body back.
Anyway, I think the really big doubt is "When Will Shao Kahn Return...And How?".

I think Shao Kahn is alive..there's no real hard evidence that he was killed..blood on his helmet, big deal. I hope he does come back in MK 6..I would like to see the sorta storyline like the Dragon King is now ruling outworld and Shao Kahn must fight him for the throne..making Kahn the under dog..I would like to see Kahn as a normal character with new moves in MK 6.

Kahn as a normal playable character? No way! That would be a total disrespect to his reputation as the Big Boss. He's better off hidden with new moves

I really hope that Shao Kahn never returns. I thought killing him off was a very smart decision just like it was a smart decision to kill off Liu Kang.

I'd like to see him as a hidden character as well.. it wouldnt be right to have him on the roster of regular characters cause he is just to powerful. Sometimes i like to play mkT just so i can use him and punch people across the screen. Shao Kahn has been part of the mortal kombat story line for a long time and i dont care if they keep him forever. Many fighting games keep the boss characters from game to game.

Of course he is dead, there was blood all over the helmet when it hit the ground.
And Shang Tsung and Quan Chi wouldnt of given that bitch any mercy. ;)
Im glad he is gone, it was time for a new Boss Character, Even tho there wasnt really one, the DA should of fought together.

No no no.....I know that Reptile knows what Reiko looks like.......*sigh* What I am saying is that Reptile doesn't know what Shao Kahn looks like.
Reptile has never seen Kahn without his helmet on to know what he looks like.
So........after Reptile finds the body of "Kahn"...(which isn't really Kahn, because it was Reiko posing as Kahn) Reptile would of thought at that point that Reiko and Kahn had been the same person all along. (which isn't true, they are 2 different people)
The whole idea was to make the other kombatants think that Reiko was really Shao Kahn without his mask. So now, Tsung, Chi, Reptile all think that Kahn is dead, and they all think that Reiko was really Kahn without his helmet on, and using a fake name to hide who he really was. Since nobody has ever seen Kahn without his helmet, nobody would be the wiser.
But they were all fooled. They think Kahn is dead, but he isn't. They think Kahn and Reiko are one in the same, but they aren't.
Reiko sacrificed his life to save Kahn.
So obviously the brotherhood of the shadow has some link to Kahn.
That is how I made the connection between Shinnok and Kahn. The brotherhood of the shadow are Shinnok's followers, and one of them sacrificed himself to save Kahn. So it is apparent that Shinnok and Kahn are in cahoots in some manner.
I seriously doubt that Shinnok is really dead.
I know the whole sacred amulet, and Chi's MK4 ending...etc.........but Shinnok is an elder god, His status may be "fallen" but he is still a god. He cannot die.
Additionally somewhere earlier in this thread somebody asked why Shinnok needed to send a spy (Noob).........I think that you are assuming that Noob was there to spy on Kahn, when actually he was there to spy on the games, and how the Mortal Kombat tournament worked. In Noob's ending it doesn't say he was spying on anybody specific.
Perhaps Shinnok doesn't really trust Kahn. Shinnok probably isn't buddy buddy with Kahn, they just have a common goal. Shinnok would be foolish to take advice from somebody who has failed to win the tournament 3 times in a row. So he sent somebody else to assess the situation.

If anybody is a B*tch it's Quan Chi and Shang Tsung. And Like I said be4 He might not be dead because they never showed what happened.
0
The entire point is simply this.....if at any time Shao Kahn were to join in a MK tournament, change is name, change his outfit, and take off his helmet......not one of the other kombatants would recognize him as being Shao Kahn. Not Reptile, not Tsung, not Chi. Nobody has ever seen Kahn without a helmet.
So when we see the bloody helmet fall to the ground it would be the first time that anybody at seen Kahn's face. When Reptile happens across Kahn's body it would have been the first time that he had ever seen Kahn's face.
Imagine their surprise when the helmet came off and they all said:
"HEY! Look it's Reiko!!!, Reiko is really Shao Kahn.....and we fought in MK4 thinking that Reiko was a new guy when he was really Shao Kahn. Man, he fooled all of us"
And that is exactly what Shinnok and Shao Kahn wanted them to think. They wanted them to think that Reiko was Shao Kahn and Shao Kahn was Reiko.
They believed it.
Reiko is dead....because he posed as Shao Kahn and was killed by Chi and Tsung.
Kahn is alive...
Shinnok is alive...
Noob Saibot is alive...
And one other person who was loyal to Shinnok after her rebirth is most likely still alive too....all you MK Gold fans should know who I mean....technically speaking she is a member of the brotherhood of the shadow even though she is a woman.....another thing that I don't think people realize is that there are more members of this brotherhood than everybody realizes.
Also, unless it explicitly shows somebody being killed, expect them to still be alive and to return in a future MK game, and sometimes if they are explicitly killed, they still return......just look at Johnny Cage.
Does anybody remember a sequence showing the death of Tanya, or Jade?
I don't.
So don't be surprised if they show up in a future game.
I could list more kombatants, but you get the picture. If you have never seen a sequence, or an ending ,in a MK game, that showed, or told you that a kombatant was killed. Then they are still alive.
You can never assume anything in the world of Mortal Kombat.
Kombatants that are immortal cannot be killed. All gods are immortal. There have only been 3 gods in the games so far....and they are all still alive.
Unless somebody is mortal, they cannot die.
Scorpion cannot die......he already is dead.
Raiden, Fujin, and Shinnok cannot die.....they are gods.
Additionally even when a mortal dies, any one of the gods or sorcerers can give them life again.
Kahn resurrected Sindel.
Raiden resurrected Cage.
I wonder who Shinnok will resurrect.
Now I agree that Shinnok's character in the MK4 game was weak, but I am talking about story line here, not game play. The fact remains that Shinnok is a god. That puts him at the very top in the rankings on power. More powerful than sorcerers, or mortals.
Spoiler hint #1: The Dragon King has strong ties with a boss from a previous MK game
Spoiler hint #2: An alliance from a previous MK game was thought to have been broken. But it was all trickery. gods cannot be killed.
Spoiler hint #3: Old alliances will come back to haunt Raiden.

Ok, everyone. I may not know if shao kahn is dead but I do know that some of you have the most incorrect facts posted on here. First, Shao Kahn may have copied Shang Tsung in the soul-stealing; however, it was shang Tsung who did the first soul stealing. Also, where did someone get the idea of Liu Kang taking over Kano's body? Probably some avid fan who must really hate to see their favorite character die. Also, in MK3 and Mkt, Shao Kahn died. He did not run back to some hole. God people get your facts straight before you post. Oh, one more thing, stop bitching about this final secret crap. The game is still cool without you finding every single secret and then bitching because there aren't more. Another thing I'd like to say, they had better not put Shinnok back into the game. He was so stupid and an easy boss to beat. Shinnok was in MK4 by the way. However, I'd like to see Sindel return.

Actually Shang Tsung was taught how to steal souls by Kahn. He was the one who made Shang a sorcerer in the first place
0
That is completely untrue... as sub-zero5th said Shang Tsung learned all his magical abilities from Shao Kahn. The idea of Lui Kang taking over Kano's body is in one of the endings in MK:DA. I can't remember whose right now I think it was Quan Chi's. Quan Chi kills Tsung because he no longer needs his services since the Dragon kings army is now revived. After he kills him Kangs soul jumps into Kano's dead body(who was also killed since he wasnt needed). Shao Kahn did not die in MK3 or MKT. He was defeated and sent back to Outworld. If he was dead then he wouldnt have appeared at all in MK:DA now would he? You dont seem to know any facts so next time you start shooting your mouth off you should know what your talking about.
Here are some quick facts:
Intro Movie Shang Tsung and Quan Chi attack Kahn. We don't see the battle but we see his helmet hit the ground stained with blood.
Replies Konquest mission he arrives to late only to find Shao Kahn has been slain. Slain means dead.
Kano's Konquest he watched the battle between Kahn and the two sorceress's he decided not to get involved. He emurged when Shao Kahn was "Defeated"
As things are right now It's difficult to say what happend. Replile is a little messed up in DA so perhaps his report of Kahns death is not that reliable. Also since we didn't witness the battle or see Kahn's body we cant see that he is dead. Still even with all those facts in support of him being alive from what we see in the game and konquest story line we have to assume he is dead.
