Isn't there a versus mode in Shaolin Monks? Mabey the online function works with that mode. Or mabey you can tag up with a stranger online and work through the game together.

The box art faces of kunglao and liu are brutish crap. The teaser pics of them are much better.

Yeah, the box art faces don't look horrible, but they're nowhere as good as the teaser pics.

Hopefully Raiden's playable in this one.

Cover art looks great for the most part, but I think they could have had better pictures of Liu Kang and Kung Lao. I like how the two main characters are equally placed up front on the cover, but I think the artwork for them could have been better. It's not bad, but not really the way I pictured them. Liu Kang in particular looks too buffed up in my opinion and his face doesn't seem to look right to me. I like the artwork of Liu Kang they had inside the Game Informer magazine's first look on the second page much better. Overall though, I like the cover.

to be more specific- the artist basically is incapable of drawing realistic looking asian faces. Although the teaser of KungLao didnt look that asian, it looked more realistic.

The "Teaser" pic is the one from the magazine cover of Game Informer(with Kung Lao, and Liu Kang behind him).

They resemble the characters much better than that weird MK:SM box art shit.

And even though it's based on MK2, let's have Ermac on it, eh??

The renders suck but I like the composition of the box art.

The box-art is good, but I have to agree that the renders just don't seem that great. I mean kung-lao and liu-kang don't really seem to look oriental/asian at all. More american....which is kind of sad. Also I don't feel the characters should be as buff as they are....shaolin monks (from what I've seen) don't seem to be as buff as those 2 are. I would of liked them to have more of a mk2 bodily shape instead but maybe that's just me. But still even with that....the game looks pretty good to play, even with the things that seem to show concern to me.

I agree with everything peterbi said. I always worry when asian characters are drawn, because some people just don't get them right. And the pics on the cover do look very "brutish," don't they? Bleh. My favorate characters finally make the cover of an MK game and they mess them up. You know, most of the art and renders I've seen of Kung Lao in particular have never looked very asian to begin with, which has always bothered me. Though most of the time they cover his eyes with his hat anyway. But you'd think having a game focusing on these two characters, that they'd put more effort into their look for the cover. And look at Liu Kang's massive forearms! It's like they're going for a He-Man look or something. Liu Kang's going Incredible Hulk on us! Both of these characters are muscular, yes, but they've always been thin. More like a Bruce Lee body type. Also, Liu Kang's facial expression shouldn't be so angry looking if he's just standing there, but calmer like a focused shaolin monk should be. Ah, maybe I'm stressing too much about the cover, but was it really so hard to come up with good renders for these two guys?
