Smoke Missions Answered

Here are your answer's for the smoke mission's

Where is Smoke?
to find Smoke go to the second door guarded by the living clay soldiers, the one after the thin river and next to the grappling living tree. Destroy the soldiers' shield first and throw them into the sealed tomb door that the clay sodiers were standing by. Go through the opening and follow the path to find Smoke, who will issue five missions for you to complete. Once you have completed a mission, return to Smoke and he will issue the next one. Complete all five quests to unlock Mortal Kombat 2 in the Kontent menu.

Smoke Mission 1#
Break the walls in the Soul Tombs to reveal a secret fatality. This is an area with spikes on the ceiling and about six Tarkata in the room. You can see out on the far side of the room and you need to break the four center sections of the wall.

Smoke Mission 2#
Destroy a statue with the fist of ruin in Wu Shi academy and enter the Warrior Shrine. The Warrior Shrine is at the very start of the Wu Shi area.

Smoke Mission 3#
Offer three Sacrifices in the Sacrifice Room in Soul Tombs. You must go through the room that does not have a green or red symbol above it. Then, do air throws or keep pressing triangle (B for x-box ) to do pop-up attaks to get the Tarkatas into the spiked areas.

Smoke Mission 4#
Find all Purple Portals in the Portal and throw an enemy into each one to unlock the portal. There are only two portals to throw mobs into (one near the Evil Monastery and the other at the lower level near the climbing spot).

Smoke Mission 5#
To unlock the Pit II, enter the portal near smoke that is next to the living tree. After you enter the portal, keep killing the enemies that appear until you are told that you have won. The Fighting arena is Pit II.

This is a good thread for those who are new to the game or still have no idea how to solve the missions. Maybe this thread should be a sticky...or maybe not, seeing as how almost no one tends to read the stickys first.

Unlock Mortal Kombat II
Locate and clear all mini-missions issued by Smoke.

#1. Break Walls in the Soul Tombs to reveal a secret fatality. This is is an area with spikes on the ceiling and about 6 Tarkata in the room. You can see out on the far side of the room and you need to break the four center sections of the wall.

#2. Destroy a statue in Wu'Shui academy and enter the Warrior Shrine. The Warrior Shrine is at the VERY start of the Wu'Shui area.

#3. Offer 3 Sacrifices in the Sacrifice Room in Soul Tombs. You need to go through the room that doesn't have a green or red symbol above it and then do air throws to get the Tarkatas into the spiked areas.

#4. To unlock the Portal, find all Purple Portals and throw an enemy into each one. There are only 2 portals to throw mobs into. One is near the Evil Monastery and one is at the lower level near the climbing spot.

#5. To unlock the Pit II, enter the Portal and survive in the frozen peaks. After you enter the portal you just need to keep killing the guys that show up until it says you've won. We found that tossing them off the side seemed to prove quite useful and then just killing one when you need to recharge your life a bit.

Not only did you copy the first four steps (as well as slightly modify them), you didn't even give credit to sub_zero_spectre (the one who gave the tips to IGN), or IGN for giving you this information. The least you could've done was find it all out yourself and create the thread in your own words.

ok well i actually have a question for smoke mission 3
when i had entered the soul tombs to complete the third mission i had noticed the door, with the skull above it that leads to the torture room, was closed how do i open it? sad

For that door to be open you have to:

1- You need to hear Smoke himself tell you about mission 3 or it wont work. Before doing any mission, you need to hear him first.

2- I think you need to have finished that arena, beaten Baraka, etc, then the door works.

Can someone better elaborate on where Smoke is?

I've beaten the clay warriors [in the Living Forest] where I think is described in the initial post, but the stone behind them isn't a door, and I'm not seeing anyway through. EDIT: Nevermind, figured it out myself.
um i have a question i have finished all smokes missions but i cant find mk2?

As an Australian I'd assume you have the PAL version of Mortal Kombat (unless you bought your console, and equipment overseas). It seems the PAL version doesn't have MKII as an unlockable feature, presumably due to time constraints.

I know, I was pretty displeased, too.
PAL users should all get a copy of Midway classics for free, or something. furious

MEANWHILE -- that kinda kills any reason to do the Smoke missions, but I had a shot at the first one. I broke all the walls in what I think was the right room, and I got a fatality picture, or something... but obviously, not the right thing.

Can anyone help me out with that?
