Personally I think its pretty stupid... This is a charecter that had potential from the beginning (ala Reptile becoming playable in MK2) He couldve been something starting in MK3, but it seems every time Boon does something with him he wrecks him even more...
The guys gone from a dope ass ninja, to a stupid cyborg, back to human, nows he's neither, he somehow became a friggen cloud of mist. And in the midst of all this, it seems Boon STILL hasnt done anything with his story like he shouldve...
I was finally looking forward to playing as Smoke: The ninja from Sub-Zero's clan, in his ninja garb. But instead I get Noob Saibots boy-toy that somehow isnt human or robot anymore...

I love Smoke's new look. It shows that transparent characters are possible, which means that Spirit Liu might be see through as well.

i think he looks cool. i think they will make a good story for the team also. we already know noobs part in it. i think that noob got smoke out of his robot shit and for that smoke joined noobs new klik as his general.

I think Smoke looks excellent. Those who find it ridiculus that he's an ethereal entity must have no imagination whatsoever. There have been many good theories reguarding his current form, and something fresh and different was the right route for him.
As for his alliance with Noob, I agree that it's total bullshit. I'm happy that they're not physically fused, but this whole Noob Smoke character is a big "fuck you" to both fan bases.

Agreed. While Smoke's new appearance does look great, and looks great fighting alongside Noob Saibot, I really do wish they could be played seperately.

I don't mind the tag mode one bit.True it isn't the same as having a single one of either of them,but the fact they have their own set of moves etc can't make it all that bad.As for his look.I thought it was very unique right off the bat.I think his look finally makes him stand out from the rest.His whole etheral look belongs on him.He is smoke after all.

I agree. I don't like Smoke's look and I don't like the tag feature with Noob. Having explained myself in detail in the numerous threads that have been created on this topic, I'll just leave it at that.

I do like his look but all I want to know is how he got to a ninja, to a robot, back to a ninja again!!!!

Smoke's new look is my favorite design in any Mortal Kombat. It's just that flawless. The idea of him being physically smoke, but his outfit being material, and the Smoke and the material working together to give him shape instead of him just being a cloud is brilliant.

While I do think Noob Smoke is a cheap corner cutter on Midway's part, I like both characters and being able to jump between the two at will might just be right up my alley. Plus I figured Midways would just throw their movesets together, leaving them medicore tier-wise anyways. As a combo on the other hand they could very well be one of the most powerful characters on the roster. Plus I wouldn't be surpised to see the seperate versions as secret characters.
Is it just me, or would have "Noob Ermac" made more sense? Those two sound more like they would get along and form a rouge clan.
I hope this new dealy alliance works out better than it sounds. And I really hope Smoke hasn't been reduced to Noob's yesman.

I think he looks ace shame he isn't on his own! i predict they will have a fatality each! would be ace if they had 2 each! but some how i feel the fatality will involve both them!!
One thing that annoys me is that Smoke bleeds! if he is just a smoke fragment thing she shouldn't bleed!!!

in noob smokes alts his second smoke should be a cyborg and his third should be the human one (i heard there are three costumes each now)
you can fight as smoke seperately to cuz they swap places they are not the same charactor and his fatality sounds bitchin

When I first saw it, I was wondering what Boon was smoking but I've grown to love it. They've also combined 2 characters that I've never cared about and made them a team that has me interested in them than ever.

I love the outfits for Smoke. One is a black Ninja outfit with a smoke filled body, and the other is a purple cyborg outfit with a smoke body. It rocks! It captures both of the essences of Smoke.
Noob's costumes are pretty cool as well. Although I hope they add his unmasked MK4 look to the selectable costumes.

I don't like smoke's look and I don't like that he is tag-teaming with Noob. It all seems very thrown together in my opinion. *shrug*
