So, once we're all online, and playing against each other, will you give 'mercy rounds'?

You remember, right? The time-honored tradition of whooping someone in the first round, realizing you hopelessly outclass them, and giving them a free second, with the hope that they can actually surprise you in the third?

Just kidding. Mercy rounds are also used by those who just want to get the most for their 25 cents. But for the most part, they are an act of kindness, and I've seen people become offended if they're not given.

Personally, I do, but that's only when my opponent is really, really bad. I prefer a straight killing (this is MK after all) I wonder how this will go online. Will any of you do that?

It's also a way of feeling out the other player to see how good they are or if they are playing mind games with you. It's called throwing off. We did this in street fighter all the time. If someone is playing well and you want to play them and learn there patterns, Would you come in the game and play with your best player right off the bad? Hell no you pick your weak character and beat on them the first round and if the round was close or not, the next you throw off. Or do things you would normaly not do. Jumping all the time throw random fire ball and not block ever. You suck the other player into a false pattern. Then the last round you come back strong. If you destroy them, the next match you break out one of your big boys and house them into tears. So yes I would give mercy rounds.

No, probably not, unless there is some strategic idea behind it.

I'll only do it to learn how they play, but I'd preferably lose the first round to let them think they're going to win.

Well, I don't believe that anyone should be given mercy. If you think you are good enough to step into the online ring with the big boys, then you should already be ready for an ass kicking. Hopefully, we'll have tourneys with this community at MKO every once and awhile, championships and whatnot, make a name for ourselves in the MK world, finally.
