Reptile's doesnt exactly say he IS the dk... they made it vage enough so they could manipulate the story however they wanted...
He does transform... we don't know to what though

i think his ending in mk:da made it pretty clear. they pretty much spelled it out.

i actually miss the old reptile, the one that looked like scorpiona and subzero, and that could turn invisible and do that special move where it makes some circles like something fell on the surface of the water. it'll refresh your memory when you'll play mk1 again.

Reptile might be the DK but I just don't think he is. I think he transformed into some monster and we'll probably see him again, that is if he's not the dragon king.

People have said that's what happened, and they haven't been wrong yet...

Don't forget Shujinko role in DK resurrection... If Reptile is really DK, I don't think this is exactly like in his ending....

I don't think Reptile is the DK. In Radiens ending it was talking about the DK and it showed the DA and what appeared to be a Mutated Reptile also Nitara. The DK that we have seen looks nothing like what was in Raidens MK:DA ending. This leads me to believe that it was Reptile in his new form, I have a feeling that he now serves the DK and will at least play some part in the MK:D storyline if he dosen't show up to be playable or some type of Sub-Boss (they made Noob-Smoke you never know they might have also made two Sub-Bosses)

Heres my theory...
When Shujinko finds the thingamajigger that the elder gods sent him to find, his dumbass accidentally activates it, resurrecting the Dragon King. Reptile, who was doing nothing but sulking and getting used by Nitara just happens to be in wrong place at the wrong time, or so it seems. It ends up being a blessing in disguise when the DK is "hatched" because Reptile has a new master now who happens to be another reptile and isnt exactly fond of the Deadly Alliance that Reptile isnt happy with either. I have a theory that reptile is now the Dragon King's bitch, possibly one of his top generals now or some where in the backround as the DK's ace in the hole.

here is my theory: play the fuckin game again and beat shang tsung and quan chi with reptile. read his ending. REPTILE HAS TURNED INTO ONAGA (for now). how dense do people have to be to understand that?

Ok, but what is Shujinko role in Reptile ending? Not any... Nevertheless, in MKD opening movie, Shujinko say he's responsible for liberating this power... So, even if Reptile is really Onaga, this is not arrived to the same way thanin Reptile MKDA ending... There is a founded doubt...

Oups, I didn't see it...

There is 3 main possiblities I think. These all comes from Reptiles ending though. So it's not including Shujiko at all in these theories.
1. Reptile became the Dragon King. Well his Reptile's body did for the most part, think of his as a host now.
2. Reptile's presence or just the time was right, thus the Dragon King was reborn while Reptile gained the energy from the egg hatching, making Reptile more deformed/powerful.
3. Reptile died from the blast.
Now if what Shunjiko said was more then a guilt trip, Reptile's ending maybe never happened or only parts of it did. So no one knows for sure.
I'm hoping it's either 2 or something to do with Shunjiko, just as long as Reptile is himself and alive.

I bet that what shujinko was talking about in the intro was probably meeting up with reptile during konquest mode and sparing the lizard's life, thereby "giving evil the chance it needed" as in by allowing reptile to live he fulfilled the prophecy that reptile would eventually become the dragon king.

If he is not then why he isn't playable in Deception?
In DA a leaser beam from the egg hit him and it said that the dragon king will be return as it was written or something like that I don't remember well but I believe he is.
Also Dragon King's skin is similar to reptile.
there are too many connections between them.

Reptile's MK: DA ending happened, but it's hard to say whether or not he became the new Dragon King. It's possible that Reptile is one of the super-unlockable characters and is far more evolved than his human form.

where did you guys see the opening movie for Deception?
and i think either The Dragon King as formed to reptile( like the blast as turned Reptile into the Dragon King, like a host body type thing) or that Reptile is still alive, just either injured or hiding out and transformed again...but it is highly possable that he is working for the D..
we'll just have to wait and see...

Nah I reckon Reptile is dead. I think it took a sacrafice for the Dragon King to be ressurected and from the whole Shujinko activiating the Komidogu or whatever, I think it was destined to be Reptile that was sacraficed all along.

I think Reptiles body became a host for the DK, I think the DK took over Reptiles body/mind and reptiles soul is lost somewhere inside of the DK( and reptile cant control anything anymore since now the DK has total control over him). I dont know, just another thought I had.

My theories:
Reptile's ending happened - sort off. It just got Retconned to include Shujinko.
Here's what I think happened. After Nitara hauled her booty out of there, Reptile was left alone and sulking, just starting to realize he'd been tricked. He wanders into Dragon King's egg chamber just as Shujinko completes a ritual he has been tricked into believing will help the good guys in the fight against the Deadly Alliance. Once the ritual is completed, Onaga's soul pops out of the egg and possesses Reptile. He then surpresses the raptor's soul, flattens Shujinko (leaving him alive) and thanking him for the ressurection, and goes to confront the Deadly Alliance, who by now have defeated everyone except Raiden.
MKD's intro movie shows what happened next.
