So we already know that Mortal Kombat is up against DC Universe, but what we don't know is why? Well, there can obviously be plenty of reasons and ways this could work out? but what do you think is up with this? and how would YOU do things if you where behind the seat on this game.

I want to know what kind of direction you guys would go in with the storyline and plot, but add your own little twists in it. Look at this thread as if you where working on the game. Clearly everyone has there opinions and outlooks on things, I want to know yours!

So lets start it off by stating how you would describe the merging of MK and DC and how you would do it, and what you think might happen and how you would do things if you where in control. And who you would want to fight who, and why you think they should fight each other. and how you think the game will end.

And if you dislike MKvsDC, state what you would do to make it better.

Basically this is like your own version of the game, I want to hear everyones opinions.

Well, I don't know if this is on-topic or not, but I think it would be interesting to see the Mortal Kombat villains team up with the forces of light to take down the threat of the DC Universe characters. It could be very interesting.

So instead of having typical MK villains to fight against, they can be on the side of good temporarily. They would still have an evil alignment though, since they are only helping the Forces of Light temporarily, but they would be joining forces to kombat a greater threat, like the Desperate Alliance from the MK:D opening sequence. Raiden and the Deadly Alliance went onto being enemies still, but for that time, they put their differences aside to kombat something even greater than each other.

I think this would be most interesting to see in Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. Could you imagine Shao Kahn and Shang Tsung fighting alongside Johnny Cage and Kung Lao? That would be awesome, IMO. I suppose I am just thinking out loud though.

I was actually thinking the same thing, but a little different, i was thinking of Scorpions and Quan Chi teaming up. It actually seems like a pretty cool idea, like you said, they would be teaming up temporarily. i could dig it.

I also wander if there is going to be the option of having two fighters at once. Sort of like Marvel Vs. CapCom had. That would be sweet to see two people teaming up like that.

Scorpion would probably rather let the universe be invaded and destroyed by superheroes than ever team up with Quan Chi. He's selfish like that.

I agree, That would be very interesting! I would like to see Sub-Zero joining Scorpion and Raiden fighting alongside Shao Kahn (if he is in it) and as for the Dc Universe Batman helping the Joker, that would rock.

I'm against the idea of the game..but it could work out.

Shao Kahn starts to merge the realms somehow. Not only are the MK realms merging, but also the DC Universe. Uppon meeting each other and a brief fight, Darkseid teams up with Shao Kahn and they split the newly merged realms into two sections, one for Shao and one for Darkseid. The MK fighters begin running into DC characters and they begin to fight, thinking that the other is responsible for this. Later they realize what's going on and join forces. The good DC and MK characters start to fight the bad DC and MK characters. Eventually they break off to take down the main villain from their universe {EX: if you're playing as MK side you go to fight Shao and break off from DC momentarily}

Basketwheels, haven't seen you around since Armageddon. My old name was Alkaline, remember?

Well anyways, hopefully Boon doesn't come up with something cheesy, i mean, if he does it smart then it has potential.

What I've been working on is how any MK character can go toe to toe with the more powerful DC heroes. Superman punches around giant asteroids. How can he NOT dominate against all the mk competition? The flashes speed? Noone could touch him. How do you logically make it o Green Lantern can't just stand on the other side of the world and shoot guided energy beams at his opponent? If the game is going to make sense, some part of the merging of the worlds will have to weaken them. Something about the sun of the mk world not working right with superman, something about the speed force being different, something about the central power battery having trouble, etc. would be needed for me (and I expect at least a few others) not to be frustrated when playing the DC side and not being as powerful as they should be.

Unless of course they're fighting UMK3s Kabal........then they don't tand a chance anyway.

Heres my take on the storyline ....

A mystic being known as "Ed" had witnessed the disaster that was Armageddon .... Though "Ed" had the power to help the Earth realm warriors, his higher up mystical bosses instead told him that he did not have time to help because it would not be cost effective.

As the both sides of good and evil had agreed that their battle was meaningless and rushed, it was too late ..... their confrontation was now cannon, and most of the earth didn't even care about the epic battle that was going on. It was because of this lack of interest .... or as the mystic's call it .. "sales" .... no one ever found out what the outcome of this battle was, and barely even knew why it was taking place in the first place.

Suddenly the mystic "Ed" was told by his higher mystic elder investors, that the battle did not matter, because "Ed" had the power to right his wrongs .... he simply had to use his god like powers to infuse earth realm with a dying comic book universe that no one cares about when compared to other more popular comic book universes. However they knew that this dying universe would "cost less magic" to fuse with, so they went with it, even if it made no sense.

"Ed" , now committed to this plan, would confuse and even lie to the people of earth, by sending strange messages to them via a "viral magic" campaign, using words like "dark, blood, and fatality" , only to reveal that the warriors of earth were in fact in good hands, as their lives were completely safe. The people of earth rejoiced as they realized their favorite heroes were no longer in danger, and at the very worst, going to be smothered in man genitals via spandex tights.

This brought great relief to "Ed" , as he would fear the people of Earth would scoff at the idea, but like good little sheep, they eventually saw the positives in the warriors of Mortal Kombat fighting men in tights, rather than save the world, and gathered in great excitement to discuss the possibility watching their greatest heroes beat up the likes of "Hawk Girl" or perhaps " Elastic Man" in a non bloody and gruesome way.

As the gaggle of bulge bearing rubber suited man sandwhiches look on at the warriors of earthrealm, their tights grow tighter.

Scorpion unleashes a rubber tipped spear on Batchest, who's rubber nipple plated armor deflects ..... Mean while , Sub-zero , knowing that Thuuuuper MAN !!! is weak to magic, he pulls out his best David Blaine-like card trick, weakining the caped one to his knees ....... The ancient green skinned man lizard known as Reptile stares on at the Martian Man Lover, in complete awe as he stands their wearing nothing but a pair of speedos and a cape .... And Kitanna does her best again the lezbonian ... er Amazonian Wonder Muffin, with only a pair of paper fans at her side.

The battle concludes this fail .....er fall

well like most people i am disappointed with the direction of the game but i am willing to give it chance. From the little bit footage ive seen of the game it doesnt seem too bad. I like the fighting while falling feature of the game so im looking forward to trying that out. i'm really interested in seeing how the game as a whole turns out :)

Mark my words, this game is going to suck!!

The only reason I can come up with why Boon and Midway would do such a dumb move as to do a "vs." game is purely money...Armageddon sunked to the bottom so fast (becuse it was so,so poor of an effort and a slap to the face of fans) that Midway executives are trying to make up losses by cashing in on the franchise. (much of what Armageddon was done for already, and still they just dont learn)

And instead of doing a total "re-think" for the series, game engine, storyline etc. (because it costs, cos while thinking the executives pockets dont keep filling up) they no doubt do a rushed half-finished product that they think will generate some income to midway and cut some of their losses.

By doing so they totally ravage the intellectual and storyline "property" and shit on the image on the one of most controversial and original games of gaming history...

So because of the short sightness of some "I'm a big company executive and I think I know what i'm doing" the Mortal Kombat franchise will become a laughing stock of the whole gaming community by wh#ring for quick cash.

And when all is said and done and over, the dumbass executives wonder what the f#ck happened, and why doesnt a big franchice like MK sell to the "mindless" consumer...and they realize that the once millions of dollars worth of franchice is now worth less than crap...what everyone can create for free ...and MK will die. Which is sad cos even its creator Ed "licking Midway's #ss" Boon doesnt have the b#¤ls to say to the executives that enough is enough, but just blindly does what is told like an idiot...

Which creates the question who is dumber; the idiot or the second idiot following the first idiot???!?
