So where do you think MKD is set?

Since we've seen alot of the arenas that are appearing in Deception, I still can't tell where the game is taking place. Were the portals to earth destroyed in MKDA, so the fighters are stuck in Outworld? That's probably not true, cus Raiden can open portals, and how would the new Earthrealm fighters get to Outworld to fight in MKD?
Maybe it's set in a combination of locations (like MKDA) containing Earth, Outworld and Edenia. Maybe the Shokan realm, Vampire realm and the new 'Orderrealm' will make appearances as well? Shang's Island is back, but that's at a point between the realms.
Any ideas?

In my pants.
I think the story of MK: Deception will take place in many different realms. The Nethership in MK:DA was a boat that took the Earth Realm defenders to the portal that leaded into Outworld. In MK: Deception that ship returns as the Netherbelly. I think that since the ceiling of the Netherbelly is decorated with hanging corpses, the warriors from Outworld hijacked it. If this is true, the Netherbelly stage might be some evidence of the presence of multiple realms for the setting of MK: Deception.
The Outworld is a definate setting for most of the events that will unfold in MK:Deception. I also think that since some Earth Realm characters are appearing from previous games, they must have started their adventure in their native realm and ventured into Outworld to complete whatever it is they had started.
I don't know if the Netherealm will be a setting for a battle in MK: Deception, but that is where Scorpion goes after his physical form is destroyed. Scorpion is returning for another battle in MK: Deception so I believe the Netherealm will be mentioned in some form in this game. Noob Saibot might be another candidate of bringing the Nethrealm into the plot into MK: Deception.
If Tanya is included in MK: Deception, then the realm of Edenia will be included in the whole conflict that happens in MK: Deception. Tanya could be the deciever of that realm while Sindel is absent from her kingdom.

After MK3 the MK team haven't had many stages in Earthrealm. They seem to be going for a mysterious and dark feel in Deception so your best bet would be Outworld. The Netherealm may be another place that has a similar feel.
im thinking now that the dragon king is alive and hes suppose to be real powerful, maybe some how hes acomplished what shao kahn hasnt been able to do and thats have all the realm form into 1 "the outworld" but at the moment he has only been able to expand outworld into only parts of each realm..w/ raiden said to be dead no 1 is really there to protect earth, which would explain how he would be able to expand into earth realm..since he has only expanded outworld into only parts of earth, this would explain y only some of earths warriors r in the game..like night wolf..etc etc..other earth realm warriors may not be aware of the merger yet... w/ kitana kidnapped, edenia is weakend..that explans the slight merger into that realm, and the reappearance of tanya, mileena, sindel..over all this would explan y many charaters r reappearing.....

From what we have seen, we know some places take place in the realm of Outworld (The Deadpool, The Portal, Outworld Tower, ect.) As for some of the other courses, we need to know their stories, but for now, it is safe to say it takes place in Outworld.

Outworld is truly a definite setting for this game because of the Dragon King and the Deadly Alliance, etc.
I don't think there'll be too much setting in Earthrealm.
Perhaps the game will also take place in the Netherealm and Chaos Realm.

I don't know what realm it's set in, but I saw a pic that said the Isles of Hell or something like that.
I was thinkin what do you guys think is the differences between Netherealm and Outworld.
My guess is that Outworld is a dark place and Netherealm is more fiery torment. Netherealm seems to be a prison for souls and Outworld is were Villains live and can escape to other realms. You can do that also in the Netherealm, but its pretty much like a prison break.
