I love the idea, simply because Kira would most likely get owned! I believe that she'll be a superior fighter to Kano and she'll definitely give Sonya a good fight! She may even take Sonya down.

The story switch idea of having Kira going after Sonya would be entertaining. Although why anyone would stick up for or even care about Kanos death is beyond me!

YES! MK needs more female rivalries. Trust me the Kitana and Mileena feud is awesome but we need more... But if Sonya doesn't make it into Deception, Kira would more than likely take her place. Maybe with her fighting styles, who knows?

For me, Sonya got a little stale. I'd be happy for her to sit this one out and come back as highly anticipated in MK7.

Kira is the girl I am most looking forward to playing with. Actually she's my most anticipated new character as well.

I think you guys are onto something that could evolve into one of the major story themes of MK.

Kira could have a big impact on the series as a whole.

"Kill Bill" has shown how much we all love girl-girl battles.

I still say give Kira the "Go Go" Ball and chain as a weapons.

I think Sonya would whoop Kiras ass, but Kira is really kick ass still. I hope Sonya is 1 of the returning chars from Da that is taken straight from Da, it said sum where they would do this with sum chars and make them secret. I always thought that Sonya Da coustume looked fine and wouldnt mind playing with it.

I want Kano to live, Kira could go after Sonya thinking he was dead but in fact he is stranded in the Outworld and surviving on his own.

I have always seen Kano as a survivor and he is one of my favorite characters because he is unique, he has so many people on his ass, and he always manages to get them off of him.

I think Kano's ultimate goal is to return to Earth, Kano has not been on Earth ever since the end of the first Mortal Kombat.

In my opinion this would have made her far more important to the series. Don't get me wrong, I love the Special Forces story, but it has gotten stale. As a 12+ year fan of that character I'm saying this.

I think they should have given Sonya the story they had in the comics where she is the key to linking the realms.. and was almost forced to marry the emperor [ or maybe in this case the Dragon King] and put under a mind trap. She's walked down by no other than Kano, her arch nemesis.

The last second she wills herself free of the spell and she escapes. In the process she kills Kano, but because they need her for free passage into earth realm they're merely trying to pull her down. She's almost home free when who but Kira shows up from in the shadows to stop her. They have an exchange of words.. and fight. Both end up pretty wounded and Sonya finally gets away. Kira seeks vengeance on the woman who killed her lover, thus turning the tables. Now, as said by others in previous posts, Sonya is the one running -- not only from Kira but from possibly being the key to the downfall of Earth.

Also, a tattered Bride dress with combat boots or something would make a bad ass alternate costume, minus the veil. I know, I know, slight Kill Bill influence, but maybe I'm just weird. [love that movie, too, btw!] Then her General costume could be the default one.

If Kira is included in the game I will be very happy. She seems very awesome and could be fun to play.

He hasn't be on Earth since MK3. MK3 took place on Earth.

I LOVE the comics story too!

Actually, she has been used as a key to open portals from realm to realm, in Mk4 she manages to do this and helps Johny Cage, Liu kang, Kai, and Sub-zero get to Outworld.

The wedding story kicks ass! My all time favorite and SHOULD be used! Maybe we have hopes for an EVIL Sonya! But of course, controlled by dark magic.

I have already seen Kira and she looks similar to Sonya, I really really like her and have high hopes, I just hope she does not end up being some clone.

Also, I actually don’t want the story KANO-SONYA be repeated with Kira, being now KIRA-SONYA.

I say make it different. Make Kira be Sonya’s sister or something wicked!

I absolutely love this story. It has revenge and deception two deadly ingredients.

I mean think about it...We've always seen Sonya as the tough as nails, badass SF agent, Who face anything and everthing that comes her way...Well what if the tables were turned on her? And now she's the one running scared because her narrow escape from Kira has her doubting her ability and that is causing fear that she is not accustomed to feeling. I just think it's the way to go...A brand new direction for Sonya that doesn't involve the SF and she isn't chasing anyone, this time she's being hunted!

After slaughtering Kano, Sonya had finally ended the ongoing feud between them.
Since returning back to Earthrealm, the Special Forces Base was completely desolate. Confused, Sonya made an attempt to contact Jax to inform him what had happened. As the radio signal screeched and static noises arose she knew that something was going on, the sky a pallette of black and red, it must of been something in the sky interfering with the transmission.
As she entered the Base she was attacked from behind in a scantily clad woman with piercing red hair, Sonya evaded the unknown attackers next kick and backlashed her with a high kick. As the woman lay on the floor, Sonya recognised a symbol implemented on the womans tanktop...The black Dragon symbol. Sonya had believed that every Black Dragon Member had been disposed of, but something struck Sonya weary...*When Kano lied bleeding on the dusted cobbles in the Sarna Ruins, Before Sonya delivered the final deadly blow she tore the necklace from his neck which had a clump of her hair, Kano's last words to Sonya was "watch your back Sonya, i'm not the only one" With this eerie sentence Sonya kneeled next to Kano, rummaged in her pocket for a vial of flouresent pink powder, sprinkled it into her hand and blew it into Kanos face, Kano started to vomit violently, almost choking on it, then the vomit turned into blood, Sonya smiled and stood up, she then leaped into the air and landed down -heel-first into Kano's head which shattered upon impact.*

"Now Sonya, if you'll excuse me". Kira walked confidently out of the base with a devlish grin on her face as she had implanted a small explosive device on Sonya's back during the attack. Sonya wasn't stupid, During the fight she removed the explosive and disarmed it, but left it on her back to not make it obvious, Sonya staggered to pull herself up and leaned over a counter to ease the pain, for the first time ever, Sonya sensed fear and the first in a very long time spilt tears over her hands knowing that the tables had been turned, her tough outershell had been heavily penetrated by a stranger who had dug into raw areas, Sonya was prepared to fight, but couldn't shrug over constantly looking over her shoulder............

Hey everyone. (F.Y.I.--I own gamecube deadly alliance & we just got new PS2 end of May for my sisters' DDR's and my Deception in October--I am an amazing anime artist (female)--I am a faithful fan of MK4's Sonya + Tanya & Deadly Alliance's Sonya + Kenshi + Kitana + Nitara & Deception's Kira (only her concept drawing for now) + Mileena + Sindel + Kenshi so far).
Kano + Kira being lovers . . . I thought about and love that idea (look for my message I recently posted on the "Love intrests" thread)! I hope Kira will be Kano's girl for real in Deception.
Kira's concept drawing is all we can see of her so far, and I am greatly anticipating her and my other MK Deception favorites known so far, Kenshi + Mileena.
I am afraid of this . . . Kira reminds me of Little Sonya's similar outfit in MK4 / MKGold, so what if Kira is a playable fighter INSTEAD of Sonya in case Sonya is NoT fightable in Deception?
BTW, when Kano got revenge on Sonya in his Deadly Alliance ending, did Sonya just get die?

But as we all know, its highly unlikely since we have already seen the death of 1000 characters in endings, and they usually survive because:

-Someone finds them and helps them.
-Badly beaten and near death BUT
-Resurrection.

Besides, Kano could never kill Sonya. He is just too weak for her! Look at him! All this years and he only runs and cheats, and to actually defeat the tough chick, he needed the army. Lame.

If Kira is anything like Kano, she better die. And if she is a Sonya rip-off, she better die 2 times before she is dead.

I think Kira should be something totally different from kano or Sonya. Make a nice twist story. Not the typical I haunt you, you haunt me.

As for now, I really like her. The red hair is pretty cool. She should be red-dragon.
