Fool, this is Soul Calibur we're talking about.

SC is the equivalent of MK. It is a fighter that Namco doesn't test sufficiently so it ends up fairly broken. Have any of you actually played these games competitively?

The last two Soul Calibur games were broken within a month (like MK), and never played during any tournaments (like MK) that I attended.

I really don't know what this useless hype about SC IV is anyway.

Dave & Arcade ~ you guys crack me up. bitching about MK and SC so much. saying how its flawed and what not, Your so called great Tekken has its flaws as well.

Tekken has certain characters that over power other characters. combos that take well over 50% of damage, im talking 3-5 hits atleast in mk it takes like 8-10 hits and theres a breaker button. Throws that take 35%-60%. the walls totally fuck up the game & moving around is goofy. I try to fucking Side step and i end up JUMPING WTF!! O_O this happenes all the time w/ me its so stupid. This Never happenes in 3D MK. Dial a combo is in Tekken as well HOWEVER you can duck or side step and counter them in Tekken. Hopefully future MKs will allow this.

Tekken fans may not agree but i could come up w/ a bunch of stuff both games have.

I ALSO LIKE THE WAKE UP GAME FOR MKA over Tekkens. I really mean that.

after all these days of playing Tekken i still prefer MKD-MKA.

i like the block button. the way i see it Soul cal takes whats best in Tekken and whats best in MK and combines them.



Soul Cal IV im sure they'll remove the Glitches and such that were in 2 & 3.

Anyone that would prefer MKA's wake up game rather then Tekkens is a fool as far as fighting games go.

MKA's is pathetic, and poorly programed. I'm not gonna even go into detail because you should know by now.

Tekkens is superior by far. When knocked down by an opponent, the ball is easily in your court. You can attack from the ground, you can roll, or you can roll then attack. Either way, its a hella alot more than what MKA offers.



Now... if you argue this, then you are stupid.


MK's 3-D fighting games are major shits of shit. Especially MKD which is pretty much a guessing game. Dairou is quite possible the most broken fighting game character to ever exist outside of boss characters (we're talking all fighting games here)

It is flawed. Its more than that.... its fucking garbage. Why I've played it so much is far beyond me. I guess I was really that bored at the time....

So you tell me, Dan.... Why arent any MK's outside of UMK3 played in tournaments ?

Now for Soul Calibur.... I'm not gonna even go in depth with this. SC3 is Namco's MKA. Its horrible. SC2 wasnt so bad, but its not a great game either. Both we're broken.


Dan, its all opinion based. Everyones allowed to have their opinions.... but actual facts cannot be argued. MKD, MKA, and SC3 are all shitty fighting games that we're not tested properly and very broken.

I guess there really are people out there in the world that appreciate only garbage fighting games.....

I did not even mention Tekken in my post because atrocities, such as the the 3D MK games and the previous two Soul Calibur games, don't even deserve to be mentioned in the same paragraph as Tekken (or Virtua Fighter).

But since you did mention Tekken, I'd be glad to reply. Listen, it's not my fault that you:

1. don't know how to perform the simplest of moves so you blame it on the game

2. don't know how to backdash cancel so you think the game needs a block button

3. don't know how to escape throws so you whine about the throws, which are ALL escapable in Tekken unlike in the 3D MK games and in Soul Calibur 2 and 3 (using some glitches/bugs for the latter) where they are not escapable

4. don't know how to side step by simply tapping "u"

5. don't know what to do when next to walls

6. don't know how to play Tekken 5: DR in general

MK:A's wake up game isn't even close to being as good as Tekken's wake up game simply because Tekken offers you many more options that MK won't have until Mortal Kombat 12.

I have no hate for the Soul Calibur series at all. It's not my fault that the previous two titles were as easily exploited as MK:A. There is a reason for that because Namco doesn't put as much effort as they do for Tekken. They don't even test the game properly.

You'll eventually learn if the game is online.

Soon guys. I'm debating on whether I should get Call of Duty 4 or Unreal Tournament 3. Both of them I really want. But what pisses me off about FPS is that EVERYONE likes to play either deathmatch or team deathmatch. It's so stupid. No one likes to play capture the flag or supply drop (Killzone), etc. I think it's because those games take more brain power and strategy than deathmatch which is what most of those players don't have.

1 ~ i dont have issues doing the moves now, how ever the harder ones i try to do i end up getting smacked to the ground so they end up being pointless.

2 ~ i never said Tekken needs a block button. i said i prefer a block button.

3 ~ I KNOW HOW TO GET OUT OF THROWS, the throws arent the issue the issue was the damage they deliver. throws are meant to stop some one from turtling so much not remove half their life. i love how theres throws that throw ducking foes and such.

4 ~ i said some times i end up jumping when i am just simply tapping up. i have to tap twice to prevent myself from jumping.

5 ~ i dont care what you say about the walls, i've see every one including yourself get killed by the wall. its to easy for some one to 50/50 you to death.

6 ~ been playing it a bunch now. i am enjoying myself, but i cant sit here w/ a straight face and say its not flawed and doesnt have its down sides.

7 ~ MKA's wake up doesnt have as many options, but its more responsive. i love being able to QR w/ a combo or an attack I want to do.

8 ~ lets have faith in Namco that they can again make a soul edge/blade and soul cal and not repeat the mistake of SC 2 and 3.


i know how to play the game alot more then before thanks to you Dave. right now i need to work on combos after i pop some one into the air.










Arcade ~ when knocked down the "ball" isnt in 1 players court, both players have a 50/50 option.

Dan, there are no throws in Tekken that remove "half your life". Regular throws do 35 pts. of damage, which is the equivalent of approximately 20%-25% of your life bar. The most damaging throws do 40% of damage at best. Really, no one can do 50% of damage after a throw unless walls are involved, and only two characters come to mind who can do that are King's Giant Swing to wall (wall) d+3+4, and Jack-5's 1+3 (wall) d/b+2. The rest is exaggeration on your part.

Most high level players will escape throws 90% of the time anyway. Not to mention, you can duck them and easily launch your opponent when his/her throw whiffs.

Also, crouch throws are rather useless, so I don't know what your problem with them is.

MK's wake up game more responsive? XD. Whatever fool.
