The only seen I've seen so far is the cool Main Menu screen (Scorpion and Batman, but like it happened in MKA, I hope they have more characters in there for different menu screens, not just those 2!!) and the very cool picture of the MK side and the DC side on story mode.

I love those pics, hopefully high res pictures of those screens show up soon. They all look great, and I love how Scorpion, Rayden and Sonya are in the first line while in the DC side you have Wonderwoman, Superman and Batman.

Cool! grin

Btw, Rayden's hat should be banned! It covers too much space, same with those white letters. j/k.

lol @ at Batman's and Liu Kangs same kick animations at the 1:34 and 1:48 marks for this vid http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=E8LMqGarNRM

Those kicks look so bad it not even funny.

Anyways, this game looks absolutely horrid. The fighting looks so slow and clunky and I hate how in Freefall Kombat you are falling to the exact same stage you came from.

I agree oracle, she seems so out of place. Something looks wrong, like they are all dressed up go to to a martial arts party.

and Deathbearer, you should watch it just to laugh at it.

I think I have lost hope in this series once and for all. I really don't see a future for me playing this series anymore as I feel the rest that follow are gonna look the same. At this point I don't care how brutal the violence could possibly look for mk9, if the animations and designs are lacking severely. I don't just play a fighter for one element or another but instead I play for the whole experience.

Oh, come on man.

You dont have to wish for it to be bad, whats the point? It might make you have another reason to hate the game, but that's not something good in any way.

I added lol to show I was kidding..maybe I should have put a smiley.

I don't want it to be bad but from what I've seen it really isn't good either. I want it to be good but so far I get the impression it'll be MK:A again. Don't get me wrong I like MK:A but I already have that game why shouldn't we get something newer?

Well, having seen some of that.... I'm decidedly torn.

Perks:
1. An actual STORYLINE between matches is something I've wanted in MK for years and haven't properly gotten in a good long while. Nice to see it in some form.

2. Liu Kang's voice actor sounds so much like Robin Shou it's scary, yet Robin Shou was, admittedly, a great Liu Kang.

3. Joker's combat looks really fresh, original, devious, and interesting. Is it sad that his "run up and stomp on the opponent" finish is more interesting and brutal now than his neutered fatality?

4. Shao Kahn looks really impressive, sounds impressive, and seems like a genuinely bad-A villain again, instead of some generic villain.

5. The music. You know, this might be the only thing about the game that I genuinely LOVE. The music sounds absolutely epic, gorgeous, dark, and amazing, and really helps sell a proper fight-or-die mood. EXCELLENT job.

Bad:
1. The storyline looks like low-grade cartoon fluff. The communicators, the strange, random dialogue, the awkward pacing, and the inevitably forced crossover idea hardly meshes well with our concept of a dark, rich MK universe.

2. Combat looks incredibly stiff and stilted, but admittedly an improvement over MK:A. Still, it's hardly smooth or easy on the eyes.

3. Randomness galore! Raiden randomly zaps Shao Kahn into another dimension. Kitana randomly tries to kick Liu Kang's ass. Sub-Zero randomly attacks Liu Kang. I sense more randomness ruther down the line.

4. WTF moments. The Black Dragon is suddenly on par with Shinnok and Shao Kahn to the point that Liu Kang and Kitana speculate that they could be kidnapping dozens of Edenians and White Lotus monks? They have hologram technology in Edenia? Quan Chi randomly shows up to be arrested by Raiden for a part in a plot that didn't involve him at all? Shaolin Monks suddenly starts making sense...

I don't know... the game could still go either way....

okay i'm glad i'm not the only one who was thinking that.

same thing with freefall kombat too. i've been trying for the life of me to figure out how they hell they fall to the exact same place they left. like wut?

Okay I watched the vids and...WTF?

The fighting looks like they just recycled half the animations from MK:D and MK:A and added a few extra ones to try and hide it. It looks pretty slow, at first I thought they were just going slow because they weren't really trying in the vids but now that I see it's actually this slow..what the fuck? Why do I keep getting the feeling there will be some form of dial-a-combo? And yeah why do they keep falling to the same area with Freefall? So far the only level I've seen that isn't like that is the Special Forces base from what I can tell. I could be wrong about that.

Liu Kang looks like a white guy with an Asian guy's eyes. I don't see how they can assume the Black Dragon Clan or the Lin Kuei are powerful to make people just randomly disappear...and magic holograms? What the fuck is this, Star Wars? Not to mention Liu Kang's dodge didn't have much feeling to it. It looks like Sub Zero would have missed even if Liu stood completely still.

And Quan Chi looks like he's just been thrown in to try and somehow make the story seem plausible, even though I'm not sure how Raiden blasting Shao Kahn through a portal is really cataclysmic and could start a merging unless Darkseid got hit into a portal and somehow they merged because Boon and co. can't think of anything else. One more thing: Why are they bothering to give Quan Chi a role in the story if he isn't going to be playable? What's the fucking point? Is he going to wind up becoming uber powerful and the final boss? {sad thing is i wouldn't be surprised}

This game is a joke..and not a funny one.

I have to admit, I'm very impressed with the gameplay (I know, I'm the minority here). The animations are hugely improved and very realistic, sometimes almost Tekken-like. Some of them do look stiff as well, but this is a HUGE leap forward from the previous games. The graphics and presentation are equally impressive, feels very epic, arguably movie-like.

Voice acting is superb for the most part as well. I'm very pleased with what I'm seeing, and hopefully I'll be able to pick up this game soon. With that said, the whole 'communication' thing they have going on is just ridiculous (I'm waiting for someone to yell "Save me Obi-Wan!"), it's almost funny.
