Considering Kabal is the most representative character of the MK3 era (he was top tier in the arcade version; they actually had to tone him down in UMK3... he was a clear fan favorite and still is), it would be no surprise to see him back. And... considering I loved the MKX.org (that was the old site, right), I think this claim is somewhat plausible. Not confirmation by any means, but worthy of consideration.

If Kabal's MKD story didn't suck ass, I'd actually be happy to see him back. I use to love him.

As for the others, Raiden should have been a given. Did anyone really think he wasn't going to be in the game? I've disliked Jax from the first time I saw him in MK2, and he's done nothing in the last 15+ that has changed my mind. Kitana is a good choice, though. I think her fanbase justifies her presence.

Yes. That may be the case. But Poison Ivy would be more fitting in this game, due to her look (which they could really do amazing with) and her abilities.

Powergirl is a female Superman. Same kinda powers.

Poison Ivy however could have some incredible moves considering her ability.

She is still well known. Major or not, she is more iconic than Powergirl and a far better choice.

To basically tell you the truth, I beleive that the most iconic characters from DC will be in the game. Think about it. Think people from the Justice League. Those characters are going to be in the game. Maybe even Aquaman, but let's get serious here.

I doubt that this game will feature characrters like Supergirl, Posion Ivy... if any villains its probably going to be Joker... and maybe Darkseid... but characters that are not that popular in DC are being listed... if so, where's Mr. Freeze? Where's Starfire? Beastboy and Raven? Come on, let's put on our thinking caps here and seriously think who they're really going to put in the game whehter than the wannabe heroes that are not that too pleasing and interesting.

i figured that they'd just have way more DC heroes than villians anyway. and i think 10-11 characters from each is a little bit of an understatement i was thinking that maybe they'd have 12-13 from each to have room for the obvious choices, fan favorites, and those few odd curve ball characters.

I have a hard time believeing ANY "spy reports" since I've been burnt so many times by them. I don't care if Jesus himself told me Kabal was in the game, I'd have to see it to believe it. I wouldn't be too shocked to see him considering his obvious similarity to the Flash, but I won't believe it until I see a render or an official Midway announcement. I would suggest everyone do the same, because the odds are against this at this point. (Doesn't mean it isn't true, but it's definately a long shot)

If this is a lie, it wouldn't be the first time that a "long time MK community member" has pulled the wool over our eyes. People crave attention, and a lot of times, they give in to that temptation by deciding to throw away their reputation for a moment in the sun.

And btw, TRMK has been around forever (since before I started posting around 2001), and they've posted quite a few newsleads that went nowhere. I've always respected the site, but they do tend to jump the gun from time to time. This is one of those times, in that we have no way of knowing if this is absolute bs or a solid lead.

After reading that list,this game seems more like a joke then anything else.


I didn't like the idea to start with and then saw the renders of superman and was like,ok cool.And then batman render came along and ugh,ok well isn't winning me over but ok.And now the list of the rest and I am now offically uninterested in this game,assuming the list is actually real.

Oh well,heres hoping its fake cause it was starting to win me over until today.Even if it is real I shall wait to see how things play out.First time in 10 years that I am not preordering a MK game.

If Black Canary is in the game, Sindel will be as well, as both attack with supersonic voice attacks. Its that kind of parallel they're going for, I think. Supes/Bats and Scorp/Subbie are chosen for being the respective faces of their franchises.

I can kinda understand Jax making it in, though he hasn't enjoyed much of a respectable spotlight in the past. And since Boon would probably want to aim for a literally diverse cast, Jax is the best choice over the likes of Darius, etc.

Kabal? Well, he's got his unique look going for him, so I suppose that's what inclined them to include him. Though I admit I didn't expect him to make it, nor am I thrilled he did.

Raiden, that's not surprising. Sonya and Kitana have been expected from the beginning.

I guess we'll have to wait to find out whether this is 100% true or not, but for now, there's no red flags warning me this is fake, so I'm gonna play along until proven otherwise.

Oh, and they need more villains in this! What's with all the heroes? I mean, I'm sorry, but Kabal is, like, a D-list villain, they need better baddies like Mileena and Khan. And DC is just swarmed with heroes so far! I'm hoping to see Joker in, at least. I know that the MK "heroes" and the DC heroes are probably gonna be oppositions to one another, but that's no reason to skimp out on the actual villains from both universes.

P.S.: Kabal and Sonya better not even meet each other in the storyline of this game. I'd rather see Sonya duking it out with Wonder Woman or Black Canary or anyone else but Kabal, because I swear that if they drag Sonya back into this Dragon-clan thing again because of Kabal's presence, 2008 is the year I kidnap Boon's family members, canon game or not.

Putting your franchise-playing foot first isn't exactly pairing up literal counterparts... Which is a good thing, because MK's got a reputation for being repetitive enough without dragging a whole new franchise down to homogeny!

I've liked to think the small cast will be motivated by function within the story; which stands to reason to favour a chunk of heroes from both universes, and a few exceptionally powerful villains.

Kabal was inspired by the flash so that isn't a big shock of him being in.

yeah that last part. no. mortal kombat has never been done like that. i think the connections between the characters will, for the most part atleast be as superficial as possible.

i believe totally and completely that if black canary is in than sindel will be in too just because their similar powers even if that is the only thing they have in common...that and being mothers depending on which black canary they use.

Like I mentioned on Midway, I would doubt this more if it came from anywhere else besides TRMK. Being the first place the MKvsDC rumor came from back in September 2007.

Overall, I don’t think it’s too bad. The odd thing is the lack of villains on both sides, MK spare Kabal and maybe Raiden or Scorpion, and DC has none.

Again I'm not believing this until it's actually confirmed-confirmed... but taking into account that if this were indeed true, considering the roster of the MK characters thus so far, I have no need to worry that Mileena will be left out. As.. 1) She's a top villian, and there absolutely needs to be more than just one or two, and 2) If there's three females in the DC roster, I'm confident Mileena will be the third female representing Mortal Kombat.

Kabal's storyline in MKD wasn't that bad, I mean if anything it brought him back to his roots. I like Havik's involvement playing the role of "Emperor to Anakin" situation, convincing him to be evil and become a powerful leader....

That doesn't make sense. A character's roots would be what they were like when they first appeared. Kabal's first and only appearance prior to Deception was that he was a former villain redeeming himself by fighting for justice.

Him doing a complete 180 in Deception made absolutely no sense at all, especially considering the Chaosrealm/Orderrealm crap came out of nowhere and should've been saved for an entirely different story arc following the Dragon King fiasco. If anything it made Kabal seem like a simpleminded fool who can be easily manipulated.
